I will say tho, during the unaired pilot of Card Sharks with Jim Perry, that also had a maximum in the money cards and was a whole lot more exciting just because the cards were a lot more middle of the pack. obviously that contestant didnt actually win the money but it was still fun to watch
Norma's felt more exciting cause it was genuine, the guy in the pilot was either encouraged to bet it all by the producers or did so for fun knowing actual money wasn't at stake.
Roger Craig was a beast! I thought he would ultimately challenge Ken Jennings’ record by the way he was playing. Too bad a sports question ended his run rather prematurely.
also the billy crystal one i dont' know if it's from that match but they went to like 6 tie breakers in one with him playing final score was like 55 54. if i remember right he didn't win but he gave it one hell of a run. they changed that format later to first one goes then second one has to beat that time. but man what a match you almost feel bad when 4 good players do that and somebody ahs to lose.......... :(
