Great watch guys as always, loved the Barnsley town centre improvements especially the 'Kes' bronze statue love that film but it was a very impoverished hard working town back in the dark old mining days. Long, long time ago we use to drive over to Barnsley to an Indian cafe ( you couldn’t call it a restaurant), I think it was on the old bus station??? If my memory serves me well somewhere near it was a statue of Queen Victoria?🤔 It’s certainly changed since then, must pay Barnsley another visit. CLAIRE can I ask what your coat is, I really like it, especially the hood. Thanks for sharing your home town. X

Hi you two, shame your plans were scuppered but showing us round Barnsley was great. Worth a visit me thinks in new year. We are away for a night at Tyndrum holiday park. It’s -3 frost lying everywhere and snow on the hills. Just wanted a change of scenery and it hasn’t disappointed. Might go to Oban tomorrow as it is not far away and William and I just love it there. And the storm certainly had a big impact, Xmas market closed and torrential rain/wind all weekend. We even had to move pitch due to possible flooding. So we think you made most of a poor weekend. Great video of Barnsley, its certainly not looking grim these days. I briefly visited Barnsley some 14yrs ago. We wanted to cheakout a Lab bitch who was going to have a planned litter in the near future. Caxton mill stud was the breeders Kennel club name. It sounded very upmarket, but turned out to be a two up two down in Caxton mill road 😅 Then we never did get to return to Barnsley, as the stud dog wasn't up for the job when the time came 😅

Great video. I live in Huddersfield, little village called Skelmanthorpe (shat) but nearer to Barnsley than Huddersfield. All my friends and people I know go to Barnsley. It’s a brilliant day out for shopping and socialising. Saturday afternoons in the pubs then onto Darton to The Royal Spice for a curry. Brilliant town, puts Huddersfield and Kirklees council to shame.
Little factoid, home of Dr Who Jodie Whitaker, obviously she lives in a blue police box in another time zone somewhere in space, but her parents are still villagers.
Not been to Barnsley for a good few years, i do remember the first time I went, it was with a mate who had purchased an old pre fab post war1950s bungalow to use as a pig sty and we took it down piece by piece,just the outer shell roof walls being the main things he wanted and a lady from a house across the way brought us some sandwiches and a pot of tea as she said she would be glad to see these old buildings go, then in the 90s i worked for Dixon motors and i used to travel to the Barnsley Renault dealership from Scunthorpe fairly regularly, last time was 2006 😅
My leccy went off yesterday in Holyhead Anglesey, I had to go out to get them T lights for me and the dog , by the time I’d sorted all that out the leccy came back on, and the ferries were off due to storm damage

And the storm certainly had a big impact, Xmas market closed and torrential rain/wind all weekend. We even had to move pitch due to possible flooding. So we think you made most of a poor weekend. I briefly visited Barnsley some 14yrs ago.
We wanted to cheakout a Lab bitch who was going to have a planned litter in the near future.
Caxton mill stud was the breeders Kennel club name.
It sounded very upmarket, but turned out to be a two up two down in Caxton mill road 😅
Then we never did get to return to Barnsley, as the stud dog wasn't up for the job when the time came 😅

Great video. I live in Huddersfield, little village called Skelmanthorpe (shat) but nearer to Barnsley than Huddersfield. All my friends and people I know go to Barnsley. It’s a brilliant day out for shopping and socialising. Saturday afternoons in the pubs then onto Darton to The Royal Spice for a curry. Brilliant town, puts Huddersfield and Kirklees council to shame.

Not been to Barnsley for a good few years, i do remember the first time I went, it was with a mate who had purchased an old pre fab post war1950s bungalow to use as a pig sty and we took it down piece by piece,just the outer shell roof walls being the main things he wanted and a lady from a house across the way brought us some sandwiches and a pot of tea as she said she would be glad to see these old buildings go, then in the 90s i worked for Dixon motors and i used to travel to the Barnsley Renault dealership from Scunthorpe fairly regularly, last time was 2006 😅

My leccy went off yesterday in Holyhead Anglesey, I had to go out to get them T lights for me and the dog , by the time I’d sorted all that out the leccy came back on, and the ferries were off due to storm damage
