    Wow!!! I am so thankful I do not live on the Stilly any longer. When I was a lot younger I lived thru a few of those floods. Spending the night parked on the Main Street of Arlington. The Blue Bird Cafe stayed open all night. Wow. That’s a whole lot of years ago.

    This happens in particular and you know where they are areas in Western Washington and people still build and live there. What's wrong with this picture? Makes me think of the definition of insanity

      Definition of insanity: unsoundness of mind. Symptom of insanity: doing the same thing, over and over, and expecting a different result.

    Is this a river where the dams were opened to support fish?

    • @hmcbroom6895
      @hmcbroom6895 Год назад +1

      No dams ever I know of. Just a fish ladder of which part of the video shows. I would not have been standing where that was filmed ,with that water could come a log and take all of that out.

      @@janncoons7445Great uncle had a raspberry farm down by the river! His house up on the hill, but had set up to easily to move important possessions to high ground the years the water came higher! ❤ Loved that place, but he watched the weather & seasons & acted accordingly!

    Back in the old days we used to go up to fall city and watch the valley flood, all the farmers had their cows up on the hills. Almost got trapped one night cause the dam cows were in the road and the water was rising fast. Seen it top the bridge a few times.

    They should not sell insurance for flood plain property buildings. We should not have to be part of an insurance pool that covers those who want to "embrace nature" on a flood plain.

      WA state, our flood planes have a tendency to flood at the wet times of year! It is a warmer winter so snow pack less & run off more! It happens rather frequently on our rivers, streams & swampy areas!

      This is on a major river coming out of the Cascade mountains, this flood plane floods almost annually! This river is dangerous in the summer at it's lowest levels! Wisdom & caution is always advisable! Have friends that own homes up 1 of the inlet streams & their basements flood pretty frequently also!
