Great video, not the normal this is the seat, this is the food, this is the safety videos. Video With a story and information.Thank you. I'm waiting till May before I fly with Emirates to the Maldives.
None of the European or the continental American or even other Asian Airlines can compete or come close to the Emirates lounge experience or perhaps First Class/Business class experience. Beautiful video Patrick ❤ Keep them coming.
I agree that Emirates is excellent - definitely one of my favourite airlines. However, Qatar are as good - if not better- in many areas. Certainly none of Emirates’ Business class seats can compare with the Q-Suite.
Very well spoken and well described. Thank you for bringing this detailed and valuable content for us! Haven't flown in over 12 years, looking forward to some flying (Will be using Business Class in Air Canada and Lufthansa as they are the only available options in my planned individual route, but it would be great if it were Emirates as well)
I think in practice, numbering aside, EK’s prestige routes are probably GVA and ZUR, paired with RUH and KWI. Follow the gamechanger…. Also, fun fact, Dubai never really had (yes, it’s run out) as much oil / gas as Saudi, Qatar or Abu Dhabi. They’ve just been much more efficient at investing and deploying the money from what they had. They’re very focused on making sure their ventures are profitable and sustainable, because they don’t have much choice. Hence the hustle culture in Dubai vs more relaxed Abu Dhabi up the road.
Where there’s a will for a shower, you can have a shower. I recently flew Cathay Business from HKG to SFO. I didn’t see the shower room until just before I left the lounge, but was determined get myself a quick 5 minute spritz in! 🚿
Great review. Thank you. I am getting ready to LATAM's LA1 next month (SCL-PNT). Not sure the history of why this is #1, but looking forward to it none the less.
I flew Business Class roundtrip with Emirates from JFK on the A380 to Dubai and then to Seychelles on the 777. Then I flew their Business Class roundtrip from JFK on the A380 to Dubai and then to Maldives on the 777. Both of them were AMAZING trips. Far better than Business Class on ANA's "The Room" from JFK to Haneda to Bali. Far better than Business Class on Philippine Airline's A350 - 16 hours to Manila. Emirates just has superior service. BEAUTIFUL Model-quality stewardesses. My favorite Moet&Chandon Champagne. Excellent shower spa and excellent business class layouts/seating. The trick is that you MUST go on the app and get window seats. The center dual seats are OK - but you don't want to be in the row next to the galley or bar area. You also have to make sure you get the seats together if you're with a spouse. I've seen other people's flight's ruined because they got split up. On the 777 to Maldives, a woman and her adult daughter tried to get my window seat from me and I politely declined.
Awesome! Definitely a great product now, as long as you can avoid the outdated products on a chunk of their routes. I'd definitely come back to fly them again!
Separate boarding is a huge advantage especially on Asia flights to Indonesia, India and others of its kind and Africa flights where people crowd (not line up) at the podium way before their zone is called. Well these people are from my country so I'm used to it but it can really shake someone up especially trying to get through the crowd
At 11:23, I think the overhead light and sign panel was pretty surprised to see you filming it. ;-) All kidding aside, great review. I would definitely not mind trying this out some day, but closer to the window for sure.
My experience booking with Emirates: I am based in the London area and I will travel to Brisbane next year with my family. I wanted to fly with Emirates business class since we use this airline every time when we come from Australia to Europe. 3 tickets business class London-Brisbane is approximately £19,000. We choose to fly from Frankfurt with Emirates since the same 3 tickets business class FRA-DBX-BNE is only £12,5000. So, all in all, LHR-FRA-DBX-BNE ends up at £15,000 business class entire route (I choose to have A380 for all Emirates flights), including one night in Sheraton hotel in FRA airport. For £4000 difference, in savings by flying from FRA, I will have a nice accommodation in Brisbane for 2 weeks, rent a car, and go a few nights out with family and friends.
OMG did @PatrickSheaAviation actually say "renovated" business cabin???? 🤪🤨🤐 Well there goes your Emirates sponsorship cuz they're calling these the "All New" business class LOL 😯way to go Patrick keeping it REAL! 🤗😝 LOL
Have Emirates changed the numbering? The odd number BC seats have always been the window seat with the cabinet on the aisle. Whenever i fly Emirates i always pick seat 7, 9, 11 etc. Heaps more private and you dont get knocked on the overnight long haul flights. You were talking about not getting amenity kits. They dont do PJ's on all overnight flights either unless more than 9 hrs. Will be taking my Qantas PJ's when i fly next year. Much more comfy getting out of your clothes and into trackies or PJ's on overnight flights.
Sorry to be that guy but the California wine you mentioned is a product of Buena Vista located in Sonoma not Napa. Gorgeous winery well worth a visit the next time you’re home for a few days. Granted it’s a petty regional rivalry but the locals love to say, “Sonoma makes wine. Napa makes car parts.” 😂
Emirates older Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A380 is only used for flights to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Egypt and Angola, but your lucky that you flew the new business class, hope you enjoy your flight.
Patrick, great commentary. I am surprised that you have never flown A380 Business Class from SFO to DXB or DXB to SFO? Is that right? How about SFO to Doha on Qatar A350 - QSuite? I have done both many times and Qsuite is definitely one of my favs lately with the privacy doors, however the A380 Business Class Bar seating is just amazing. I have made so many friends on the long haul non stop from SFO to DXB or the return flight, spending many hours just in the bar area mingling with fellow passengers and crew from around the world. The 15+ hour non stop flight becomes a breeze with mini naps in between, hanging out in the bar area, talking to amazing crew and of course the food and some in flight entertainment. I always preset my favorities 24 hour before flying, by logging onto the app and adding all the selections in advance by adding all the movies, tv shows, documentaries, sports, music playlists in advance, so when I am at my seat, I dont have to waste time browsing, I just click on the Fav and all my content is there. I also found it odd that they did not give an amenity kit for a fairly long flight like this, but you can always request it. I also always request an extra pillow right when I board and carry my own large empty water bottle that they simply fill up so I dont have to bother them for plastic water bottles all flight. All in all, I think the retrofit of A380, not sure if I am totally impressed by the overall changes, it seems the same to me over the years, I was hoping for privacy doors but not sure if that is being done across the board on all A380s, additionally booking in advance, I try to get the seat closer to the windows which gives added privacy as you must have noticed in your flight that being on the aisle side is basically no privacy at all and that kinda irks me that this is not being addressed in the retrofits for the A380 in the Business Class. I may be wrong, but my last flight on the A380 just about a year ago from Dubai to SFO in Business Class did not have privacy doors, but I had my seat closer to the Window so it was not a big deal. The Q-suite on A350 Qatar Airwarys is def a game changer for me. Also the Doha Biz Class lounge is spectacular. Regardless, both the airlines are exceptional with their service, food and drink options, not to mention a superlative crew. Good luck flying brother.
100% the amenities in the lav is great perk. Personally, I continue to use the amenity kits products on my trips, so I prefer the kits themselves, but I was at least happy to see the products somewhere onboard!
You should fly Air New Zealand flight number 1 (I don't think it's possible because it's gonna be a super long exhausting flight for you), Turkish flight number 1 and Malaysia airlines flight number 1.
EMIRATES bread and butter is the A380. The amount of luxury that jet offers is unchallenged. It's huge, spacious and quiet. I think the A380 needs to be allowed to continue to exist. Emirates new A350 is basically the same business class seat you sat in moved from the A380 into the A350. The A350's benefit is that it's got longer range - basically able to fly from JFK to Singapore, Philippines, or other Southeast Asian locations NONSTOP. The downside is it's a single deck and less magnificent. Being able to fly NONSTOP from JFK to anywhere else in the world would be awesome for me, but I can deal with the Dubai stop since it's exciting and offers a chance to go out into the city. Without the A380, Emirates feels average.
It's amazing, first we had hundreds of cooking shows, now we have hundreds of golf tuition on Utube, and last but not least Aviation shows on the same channel. Now, I do believe that people who fly business or first class really don't need those shows, simply because the fly on this status all the time, hence no introduction is necessary. And the rest of the people flying economy, like most of us, really couldn't care less, to tell the truth...sorry for telling the truth.. .😅 and yes, Emirates is also saving money wherever it can, post Covid! Welcome to reality!🤫🤔
I still don't understand why airlines alternate seats on the aisle versus the window. When I fly I want to be able to see out not be on the aisle. Your hot meal seemed a bit out of the ordinary since on other reviews the meal was a lot more elaborate and different. Oh well, thanks for the review....take care!
It has to do with leaving enough space for the seat recline. In this setup, your feet go underneath the counter of the seat in front of you. By alternating every other seat, they can add extra rows of seats. I do actually know of some people who prefer these seats closer to the aisle however so that their belongings can be away from the aisle so they don't get scuffed, bumped, or even swiped (although hard to imagine someone trying that on a plane)
If by State run you mean subsidized, then no. One can say that Emirates actually subsidies Dubai. FYI the flag carrier of the UAE is Etihad Airlines, based in Abu Dhabi.
Idk... as long as they keep the cabin cool enough (which they do on Emirates) then it's still a comfortable temperature for the beverages. Plus, if you'd like, you can always get ice from the crew
If you have the window seat and the mini bar is between you and the aisle, it's private enough to really enjoy sleeping in the bed. However, Japan's ANA does it better with the "room" in that you have sliding doors to make the space private regardless where you are sitting.
Thanks for the video, Patrick. You got it wrong on oil wealth. The growth and development of Dubai (and Emirates Airline) has nothing to do with oil. Good leadership and superb strategy are the reasons why Dubai is what it is. When you have the time, read "50 memories from 50 years of service" by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. You will get a good understanding of the growth and development of Dubai and Emirates Airlines. Thanks for the candid and detailed review. The opulence of Dubai and Emirates always fascinates me.
Fair enough. Thanks for the info! If I'm not mistaken, they have had to borrow money from Abu Dhabi, of which it is mostly oil money, to keep things flowing seamlessly
@@PatrickSheaAviation Thanks for the reply. Dubai borrowed billions of dollars from Abu Dhabi because it speculated too much and invested heavily in real estate. The credit crunch burst the real estate bubble and several expats that bet on property abandoned ship. Dubai had to borrow to remain afloat. However, it already had something to show regarding infrastructure and a first-class airline vibrant tourism industry. Some African countries like Nigeria, DRC, Angola, Sudan and South Africa have more mineral resources than Dubai and Abu Dhabi combined. However they are thin on infrastructure and where it existed, much of it is crumbling. Those countries have no first-class airlines to discuss as they have all fallen victim to poor governance. My point is that mineral wealth alone does not explain the development and opulence we see in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Qatar. It all comes down to leadership and governance.
Dubai is also a massive hub for Emirates Australia/NZ network. Melbourne alone has 3 daily flights. Sydney similar. By the way surprised that your aisle seat doesn’t have the armrest rise like I’ve had on other BC seats that give some additional separation/privacy. Emirates meals are up there and equal with Qatar (imo). 2 of the best airlines n the world for catering. Although I feel the Qatar bar area appears/seems slightly larger than Emirates.
@@PatrickSheaAviationI've seen some Emirates crew who don't interact with passengers and aren't the smiley kind. Apparently they are usually just people who wanna live in Dubai and travel for free and to them their job is just something they have to do to get to their destination and not the other way arouns
Just imagine how awful it would be, to have to mingle with economy class passengers. No it doesn't sound right. Patrick, I enjoy your clips, but DXB is a bit OTT for me. However, I am getting on. I recall PPT & MRU in the 70's & they were my favourite airports. Cheers
My biggest frustration with Emirates is their refusal to join one of the 3 global alliances, making it impossible to use their flights to earn and enjoy status across an entire alliance. So long as they insist on remaining an island, I am stuck with flying Qatar to keep my OneWorld Emerald status.
The Emirates A380 Business Class is awesome, but their 777 Business Class is an absolute disaster, they still have 2-3-2 or 2-2-2 configurations, only one 777 has been upgraded to the 1-2-1 Business Class similar to the A380 so far. And what is even worse, 90 % of the 777 with 2-3-2 configuration don't even offer fully flat beds, they are angled seats like a third world airline. You should avoid the Emirates 777 under all circumstances , they are noisy, uncomfortable and outdated, only acceptable on shorthaul flights.
Unfortunately, they only give amenity kits and pajamas to flights of 9 hours or more and overnight flights. Too bad, as they have one of the best amenity kits in the industry.
I got one going SIN-DXB overnight and LOVED it. Kinda bummed not to have it. Something that is fairly unique to them as even United's trans-con flights have amenity kits... but Emirates doesn't always?? Make it make sense...
@@PatrickSheaAviationDid you get PJS on the overnight from Singapore to Dubai pr just the kit? We didnt last time, but that was b4 they introduced pjs for bc. I took my qantas pjs lol Got another flight early next yr on same route.
Point of error on that Fast Track : it states you can use E-Gates of the following nations and includes the EU. The EU is not a nation. The member countries are nations but not the EU. But it does confirm my belief of the EU thinking it is and its actions.
Oil was not the reason why Dubai and the UAE had success. They have far less oil than most of the Arab states. I think that oil is maybe 10% of their GDP. Please check your Wikipedia facts more thoroughly.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is among the world's ten largest oil producers. About 96% of the country's roughly 100 billion barrels of proven oil reserves are located in Abu Dhabi, ranking number six worldwide. The UAE produces an average of 3.2 million barrels of petroleum and liquids per day. A quick Google search found that. So if it's not oil then what is it??
lol @ telling people to check Wikipedia for facts. A kid? Oil is the reason they have the money they have and the attempt at building a tourism and other industries is an attempt to diversify away from oil reliance for the future when their reserves run out.
That may be true to some extent for Dubai (although Abu Dhabi bailed them out with oil money when they hit rock bottom in 2008), all other emirates are essentially dependent on subsidies from Abu Dhabi which is where the oil is concentrated. No oil no party no matter how they sugarcoat it.

The first class lounge is on the lower level for 3 main reasons. 1) privacy like you said. Although the business lounge is more open and lofty, the first class lounge is cozy and intimate even though it's larger. 2) Because the terminal is arched, the higher you go the smaller the usable floor space. This allows the first class lounge to be slightly larger. 3) it allows for first class passengers to have the most seamless connection to the upper deck of the A380
That all makes sense! Good stuff to think about
I recently flew from Phuket to New York with a connecting flight in Dubai. The journey was long-6 hours from Phuket to Dubai, followed by a 14-hour flight to New York. For me, it wasn’t anything extraordinary-it was more about necessity than excitement. I really needed to rest during the flight because my back was hurting, and sleep was my top priority.
The food and drinks were okay, nothing too special. They reminded me of a simple upper-class dinner in Manhattan: decent but not particularly memorable. What really stood out, though, was the effort of the flight attendants. They worked tirelessly throughout the long journey, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. I truly appreciated their dedication and hard work.
One unexpected highlight of the trip was the airplane's toilet. It was surprisingly enjoyable because you could look out and see the sky while using it. There was something calming and uplifting about that small detail-it made me smile and brought a bit of happiness to the journey.
BABE WAKE UP! THE BUSINESS CLASS REVIEW GOAT POSTED AGAIN!
Thats whats up...!!
Get yourself a girl that looks at you the way Patrick looks at overhead air vents
Damn... If only I could pin this one... This guy gets it
9:19, the flight attendant totally photo bombed!!! 😂
100%% She was incredible!
Thank you for adding the word "snacky" to my daily vocabulary. I am forever grateful.
Nice one Patrick - A380 and a new cabin is the best - a 777 in business that hasn’t been retrofitted IS THE WORST
Flying Emirates from Miami to South Africa in Business class soon. Thanks for the review.
Thanks! Enjoy the flight! Should be a great time
Emirates is really good for connecting us to Africa as well. Great review!

No idea Emirates didn't have tequilla! Love the fun facts
Totally! He made it sound like that's on all flights, but I can only confirm that THIS one had no tequila 🤷
Not going to lie, I’ve never seen such a detailed business class lounge review. Looks like everyone shows only a small part of it
Very glamorous! HUGE bar / lounge! Cool Death Valley cap.

Sheesh man… heater outta left field there for sure
For whatever reason, when flying Emirates into the UK they don’t hand you an amenity kit, but when flying out of the UK they do?
Sounds like it has to do with timing of the flight... still odd regardless
Hi Amenities are only given for night flights however in 777 or 380 most accesories are offered and disposed in toilets for business trvls...
Just genuinely curious, is Emirates a state run airline?
Is it that why they could offer such a premium product 🤔
They are shown as Public, which might expain some of their oppulence
If by State run you mean subsidized, then no. One can say that Emirates actually subsidies Dubai. FYI the flag carrier of the UAE is Etihad Airlines, based in Abu Dhabi.
That in seat bar is useless as it's not chilled, SIA is good crew too
Idk... as long as they keep the cabin cool enough (which they do on Emirates) then it's still a comfortable temperature for the beverages.
Watar has qsuites which is also closed door
Amazing. But overal i would choose emirates. Just a better vibe and the bar is killer
My favorite airline ❤
@@sebinamuwanga awesome. Thanks!
What happened to the caviar service? Good vid btw
Only in first
"Total Brain - fart" wtf!!!!😚😚🤣🤣
Bruh should’ve picked a window seat 4 more privacy
Dubai is also a massive hub for Emirates Australia/NZ network. Melbourne alone has 3 daily flights. Sydney similar. By the way surprised that your aisle seat doesn’t have the armrest rise like I’ve had on other BC seats that give some additional separation/privacy. Emirates meals are up there and equal with Qatar (imo). 2 of the best airlines n the world for catering. Although I feel the Qatar bar area appears/seems slightly larger than Emirates.
I haven't seen Qatar's A380 bar, but Emirates' new space back there is incredible on long flights... like the MEL and SYD markets they've built up!
Crew on Emirates is usually hit or miss.
Interesting... I've never had the "miss" crew in my experience at least. They've always been great in my experience so far
That does make it tough. I too tend to avoid them unless the price is right, for a similar reason
Yea I've walked through those old cabins on my way to economy. Definitely doesn't match the Emirates vision you expect
The A380 is so awesome and it blows the 787 out of the water.
From a passenger standpoint, absolutely! From an operational standpoint, not as much
Unfortunately, they only give amenity kits and pajamas to flights of 9 hours or more and overnight flights.
I took my qantas pjs lol Got another flight early next yr on same route.
yoo im first
Sorry but that food was not BC worthy.
Point of error on that Fast Track : it states you can use E-Gates of the following nations and includes the EU. The EU is not a nation. The member countries are nations but not the EU. But it does confirm my belief of the EU thinking it is and its actions.
It helps when the airline is subsidized by their government. You failed to mention that point. The US carriers aren’t.
Idk where you get that info... but the USDOT has given plenty of money to US carriers
@@PatrickSheaAviation yeah. During times like Covid. However that’s certainly apples and oranges.
India don't have good air ports
They're on the come-up though... at least the major hubs are
I still can't believe you said Palestine should exist instead of Israel, stopped watching your videos after hearing that
So we just makin stuff up now huh?
Poor Americans are leaving USA .
Looks outdated…
dang... don't let Emirates hear you say that after they just redid the whole cabin
Second
