There are “only” 3 billion stars in this tiny dwarf galaxy SMC, almost nothing!
Small Magellanic Cloud = 3 billion stars / Large Magellanic cloud = 30 billion stars
In the Large Magellanic Clowd (LMC) we can even find a stellar-mass black hole...
    Nice lecture, tks. NSN!

I saw this with my own eyeballs.
That's one of the most amazing things about it all... How everything anyone can see in space is documented and categorised.

would being low in metal elements change the odds of life or intelligent life existing in that galaxy ?

If heavier elements are created when stars go supernova and explode are we able to observe these exploding stars profusely given there are so many millions of them

I would think that heavier elements would be created by a stable unexplosive area of the Universe, where protons have a chance to attract to each other

Also, galaxies don't form quickly, and they naturally go to the spherical formation

This is just my thoughts, I am big fan of NASA

Not at all an expert, but... If the Milky Way disrupted the LMC and SMC, wouldn't the Milky Way itself show more signs of disruption?

Go watch a semi hit a sub compact. See if that bothers the truck.

Stunning beauty. Nothing like it anywhere else. If I had a telescope 🔭 I'd never leave it. 😅😂😂

Imagine the night sky from the 1000s of planet in our "little" neighbors.. The Milky Way is probably SO vibrant

We think of metals as those elements that occupy the bottom left triangle of the Periodic Table of the Elements.
    Astronomers have a different view.
An Astronomical Metal is defined as everything that is NOT Hydrogen or Helium.

What has happened to Hubble, and the James Webb telescopes? Are they ok, or have they been overuled?
