Ever since I saw the jellyfish affectionately known in my fleet as Timothy from The boys season 3 I have been looking forward to your lazy boat build and you do not disappoint
Better ship than expected. It's best described as "fun". Names I've used so far: Blasto Hanar Olivia Big Stupid Jellyfish Steve the Jellyfish Doug I have more characters to claim and want more names. Maybe Smithers. Cuz spineless... There's ideas.
How can I have a character naming all their ships after video game/fantasy or scifi universe races, and not get "Hanar" for this. Sorry, need to reassess some of my life choices.
Hey Stu1701. When I got the Jelly ship and tried it out in a solo pve run I felt the OP about it as it was able to destroy everything and heal the ally ships like crazy. I will check out this video of yours tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know I really like you videos. Keep up the amazing work.
I'm waiting until the newness wears off for this ship. Being in a TFO with four jellyfish means I can't see what's going on. Bit annoying. And they still make me think of The Wonder Twins.
Not to mention that most TFOs can be done with 3 jellyfishs alone just sitting there and killing everything except dreadnoughts in record time. barely anything to shoot at for anyone else.
@@axelhopfinger533 I've noticed that when doing a TFO with more than 1 of these ships in the team, the visual interference from these ships when in jellyfish mode causes server lags so severe I would rather take a leaver penalty than suffer through them. It would be wonderful if they'd dial back the space magic visual effects of these ships without nerfing them...which is pretty much inevitable once the newness wears off. It's too bad the servers cannot handle the drag caused by 2 or more of these. They are great for their intended purpose: staying in one place and defending.
I did nearly the same build, with only the beacon consoles and hive defenses being my 'pets'. While they still don't do alot, using them oddly seems to confuse the ai to going back and forth in their attacks between my pets and I. Moreso, when you can only attack 5 things at once, having the beacons to call in a little help works wonders.
I did a science build on it since you can use Eddy's, Genesis, plasma Storm and more. That worked awesome! Still want the Ba'ul Sentry tho, to finish it off.
Idk if it has been fixed yet, but if you use Ba'ul beams with Sentry mode you can more often then not, still fire your weapons (or the refraction still seems to work from your weapons).
i would have swapped out the Render Visible console for the Kwejian Assault Craft. It's a fairly powerful pet that can deal a surprisingly high amount of damage on its own
Weird thing is that sometimes i get shot out of jellyfish form without any noticeable reason. Several times during events game cancelled jelly without me taking any damage to hull or even major damage to shields. At first i thought that enemy has some sort of skill that will disable the form, but all the other skill function normally plus i didnt see any suspicious projectiles, beams or effects at me. Also im not the only one this happens to, same thing happened to my friend ive been playing with.
I didn't have a lot of crit consoles available, did have genesis seed and some of the +Bonus damage. Think I may use the cardassian 3 piece consoles. ETA: Eyyy, you used the torp platform at least. I don't feel quite so nub now.
I’ve had a lot of fun flying this ship. The console is a hell of a lot more effective than I thought it would be so parking yourself in a decent position and going full jellyfish is always helpful when you got other stuff to do, meanwhile the game is just doing its thing in the background. It does make it difficult to go back to normal ships tho lol
Neat to watch it in action. Still hoping to see a damage reflect tank using its trait and shall we not revenge together. Then throw in feedback pulse for fun.
Fun fact: If you have the Fiery Charge from the Fek'Ihri Gok'tad Carrier, you can actually pull yourself toward the enemy even in jellyfish mode. edit: it has a targeting arc of 135' and a range between 5 - 10km
so i finally got round to making a build for this ship on console but didn`t want a strictly pet build. so i borrowed a lot from auggies build but i liked the idea of the sentry console. first combat was a ninth rule patrol for mastery. jellyfish and sentry at the end decimated everything but it wouldn`t leave red alert status and hence couldn`t leave the patrol. for some reason it was healing the nearby ships even after fully healed and this was keeping red alert status up. had to log out and back. 2nd patrol attempt rescue + search, at the end exact same thing and after 20 mins of constant red alert logged out again. so tried jellyfish mode again out of combat this time and fine. but as soon as i hit sentry mode and even though not in combat, the red alert went off and it tried healing the nearby sentries whilst keeping the red alert constant. have since removed the console and all is fine but i have no idea why it was behaving like this. if you have any ideas i`d love to hear em lol.
Exiting build, just as auggies is! Thx for reminding me of two extra damage traits i could use, i don't have the ruins of our wallets trait nor the sentry console, so i'll be sticking more to auggies build, while using unconventional tactics instead of the ruins of our enemies, asa more budgetable oltion!
Ironic that now the same players who were all snooty about the CD before random elites were a thing, are now are over the moon to see a CD appear in random elite TFO.......funny how things wok out, a great ship for the bulk of elite TFOs.
I noticed it does more damage on power to weapons even tho they are set to 0, vs other power modes, I've been meaning to try a max weapons power build to see if that would preform well, my tac toon hits harder that my epg Sci toon.
This is a good platform for it. Only reason I didn't make a turret focused lazy boat here is because I wanted to focus on the console and because I'd done it a number of times before.
This was everything I dreamed it would be.. and reminded me of some ideas I had forgotten about. Thank you!

Looks like so much fun! Wish I had the ba'ul ship to use that console
I often have fun with Sentry Mode. It's goofy, ridiculous, does decent damage in the right situation, and turns the pew-pews up to 11.
Wow those pets really sure did disappoint. I thought all these consoles would do something but nope.

I've been seeing ships with appendages on them I don't know if you can do that in the customization or if it's a shield or what?

Pity dimensional modulation only affects weapons, and thus does not actually buff jelly mode.
coming back to this because the next event is Swarm and I just wanna be lazy and sit in one of the lanes lol

Genesis Seed! That would've been hilarious on this build, I wish I'd thought of that!
Plus neutronic eddies, and plasma storm, for more aoe maddness! And isn't dimensional modulation just a bonus weapon damege buff?

interesting, but I doubt that would work in sentry mode active too
you know i just realised you could add the Ion Storm Console from the Buran for another AoE attack but i dont know how long that one would last.

great build and idea
would AAKAR'S VENGENCE have an effect on the power of jellyfish mode
What about the lukari heal console off the Ho'kuun ship

You got my "like" JUST because your hat and glasses are cool as hell!! 😁😎
glad to know the branding is working :D
Question, how do you have 11 Personal Space Traits?
My character is an Alien, they get 10 personal traits and the 11th comes from an Elite Captain's token.
@@Stu1701 I See, Thank You For Telling Me :) Been playing STO a long time and still learning new things :)
May i know why in dozens videos i seen, no one publish SKILLS TREE?
I have a video for that already ruclips.net/video/pdHiTwwyvkw/видео.html

Stu! How do I activate “jelly fish” mode on my ps5??
It's the ship's console, so however you normally activate a console on PS5.
I noticed it does more damage on power to weapons even tho they are set to 0, vs other power modes, I've been meaning to try a max weapons power build to see if that would preform well, my tac toon hits harder that my epg Sci toon.
Personally I HATE this ship mainly because while flying it I get lost as to what is the front and what are the sides.
I'm attempting to do a lazy turret haha
This is a good platform for it. Only reason I didn't make a turret focused lazy boat here is because I wanted to focus on the console and because I'd done it a number of times before.
I despise "The Vault"
I don’t like this thing at all:..
seems overlord overkill …
