Thank you! Your video is clear and precise. I'm a 72 year old woman who has had experience putting some furniture together until I just got a piece that has those cams. I had no clue what to do and was afraid I'd mess it up. I have had the pieces sitting in my bedroom for nearly a month. Today, the TV stand is assembled and is perfect. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach others. I have you bookmarked and will pass along your tutorial to anyone who is as confused as I was. 👍
Oh My WORD!!!! I can't thank you enough for explaining & demonstrating this so well - I'm a complete stranger to DIY & spent hours trying to work out how to do this (Google plus trial & error 😫) After watching your vid, I literally completed what I needed to do in a few minutes! Many thanks from a very grateful (female) Brit 🙏
Thank you for explaining this so clearly and respectfully! I just bought some second hand furniture and had no idea what to do to fix a loose drawer - Now it's perfect.
Ive just constructed two IKEA Pax wardrobes, four Malm drawer units as well as a Songesand king size bed. I used a Ryobi drill driver for everything with the setting on screwdriver and torque set at number 8 with absolutely no issue, no tear out, nothing nasty. If you're unsure about the torque setting, here's a test to put your mind at ease. Tighten one camlock screw hand tight with a manual screwdriver. Now take drill/driver set on screwdriver with torque low, say number five and try tightening the camlock screw some more. The ratchet will click rapidly without turning the screw. Try again number number six and if the same then number seven and eight around which time it should start to engage actual screwsriver function and turn the camlock screw. Number nine will certainly want to move it some, so easy does it and just back down to number eight. You will have proved which torque setting number your driver is best as a screwdriver ....... and saved a lot of time hand screwing. As always every time DOUBLE CHECK SETTING IS SCREWDRIVER AND NOT ON DRILL OR HAMMER DRILL!
I was having trouble assembling this table I got online. Instructions were in a language i couldnt understand... Watching your video was super helpful! Thanks a lot! Learned a new thing today. Your video is very helpful.
I've been trying to put a basic table together with cam locks and no matter which way I do it, they won't lock tight! I basically stripped the cam lock now..
Hi there, any chance you have advice on how to remove the actual screw if there is no access from the side of the cabinet. I have a built in cupboard with these, have managed to get the cam lock nut out but no idea how to get the screw out, the only access I have is via the actual cam lock nut hole
Thw whole europe is using them without any issues. Why on earth this fastening is not yet widely adopted in america where hand labour intensive, glued and time consuming methods like wood dowels, biscuits, pockets holes and etc.? You can split the assembly for eternity where as you can only screw for a few times into the pocket holes before the wood fibers loos stiffness and does not hold the screw anymore...
You are an angel sent from God, I was going crazy dealing with all these stupid cam locks, seeing it laid out in such detail finally made it click!
Awesome! Mission Accomplished!

Thank you! The original instructions that came with my bookshelf kit were ridiculously unhelpful, given what you just demonstrated.

Should the cam lock be tight after you turn it? Or the arrow just needs to be away from the bolt?

You Bet!!
By any chance anybody knows how are these commonly known in russian language? I couldn't find an accurate translation.

wow
I’ve taken all the cam locks off but it’s a table and all the cam bolts can’t be removed because of the angles. I can disassemble the table 🥲
See if it will let the parts separate or did they glue the dowel rods?
@@basicworks1 oh, they must have glued them! No amount of wiggling worked... I've already moved now so I had to leave the table behind.
Thank you!!
