What is the reason for the ban on toddy, isn't Toddy wine a fermented alcohol like very other alcohol? Although I'm not from the state but i think there must've been some distilleries that would've lobbied for something like this.
Instead of banning Toddy altogether government should've made toddy wine business into a regulated market where people could buy whatever they want from an authorized store, which would've eliminated the adulteration and cases of spurious wine being manufactured. A legitimate business idea and a legit tax collection avenue for the state.
And don't even get me started on the policing issues.
Awesome video as always but couldn't help but notice the video artefacting due to low quality footage used; try using black bars instead of putting it in the full frame, it looks better imo

Shame on Tamilnadu govt for banning Kallu and destroying the indigenous tree

The ruling parties of Tamilnadu own all the foreign liquor distilleries. This is only a part of the larger control over the industry by a few big players.

If they open up toddy then all owners of distilleries in the ruling party would face loss of business.

IMFL is the problem, this is dirty work done by their lobbies. This liquor is not even strong, just a mild sedative.

It's time for the farming community to voice its concern against the toddy tapping ban. If nothing works, then stop voting or exercising franchise until the ban is revoked since voting has only prolonged this agony in Tamil Nadu so far. Hope good sense prevails.

Very productive... I'm proud of the greatly creative and feverish efforts in furthering this industry as it is inclined to being an eco-friendly opertunitity to increase employment and increase the country's development.
