That wasn't all that uncommon back then tho.... Dru Hill was still in highschool when they first dropped as well.... It was more profitable for labels to "Catch em young" in order to rope them into bs deals (which is why a lot of those groups from our time and earlier, went through a lot of financial trouble later in their careers 😔)
