You biggest victory and achievement happened during the recent trial period when you bravely refused to take pineapple juice ! Our hats off to all of you, today's true heroes , who dared to be firm and not to give in during pressuses , humiliations and labelling ! You know what I'm talking about Dušane

I can kind of relate to this. I felt like I was on the scrapheap at age 11. Both my parents and my older brother passed the 11+ but I failed. I was treated as the dunce of the family and nobody thought I would amount to anything. I was fortunate enough to get a job where my boss did see potential in me. He arranged for the company to sponsor me to do a BSc degree, something I would never even have thought possible. Finally having someone who had confidence in me was a huge boost to my self confidence.

Thankfully you had such a chance where someone gave you the respect and guidance you deserved. If it wasnt for this small act maybe your life would have been very different. Thanks for sharing

Just wanted to share my thoughts and perspective based on my experience and observations. First time went to Croatia in 2009. Loved the country, the atmosphere and people. Then had an unplanned trip to Dubrovnik in October 2024. Loved it so much again to the point where I began to think about possibility moving there. I have settled status in the UK as well as European passport which makes it easier for me to move. Even learning Croatian language would be easier as I already know Russian, Lithuanian and Ukrainian and can understand many words already.
I was glad to come across your channel because I can feel I can relate so much. I am 32, I am Christian and also believe in “Conspiracy theories”. I had an opportunity to live in Australia for 3 years and would say it’s one the most comfortable countries I've ever lived because it has great climate, nature and work-life balance and great economy compared to many western countries. However, woke government and living on a 'huge island" was scaring me a bit after all those things that happened there during covid.
Anyways, back to Croatia. Lately I’ve been thinking about this country a lot because I feel my slavic/baltic heritage is much closer to Balkans than countries like Italy, Spain, France. I lived in South of Spain and Cyprus in the past and although you get to enjoy relaxed lifestyle and weather, the mentality of people can get to you after a while. Especially, when things come to bureaucracy, organising stuff and wanting it to happen quickly, business matters etc.
I have a feeling that Croatia is a bit more organised but I also understand that it is really different from England.
Although, lots of things like weather, safety, high number of immigrants, inflation and high taxes becoming quite a breaking point for many living in the UK I also see advantages like:
    - Convenience (this comes to many things like ordering things online, cheaper prices for goods and services because of high competition, easy to start business, stand out and earn good money if you are quality service provider, cheap flight tickets to various destinations, things are moving quite fast and organised well, lower vehicle prices)
    - Higher salaries than in Croatia
    - Being close to family
    - Easier to start a business and there’s higher purchase power and increased consumerism, people love novelty, bigger market, more opportunities.
    - There’s more government support for those who aren’t able to work, low income or lost a job, single mums, domestic violence victims and people with disabilities. (it's always good to know that worst case scenario you are not going to be left on your own. Coming from Eastern Europe I see how important it is because life is unpredictable).
Therefore at this stage I am so confused because part of me wants to live in a country that is less woke and more traditional, has better climate and access to outdoors activities all year round, puts emphasis on relationships, family and experiences rather than career and work.
I don’t know but maybe I developed a bit of Stockholm syndrome over the time because I got used to lots of convenience UK has to offer but I can definitely see taking leap of faith and moving there with a family or partner one day. As a single person who doesn’t have possibility to work remotely and doesn’t know the language it would be really hard to build my business there with no support or help. Even having regular job could only provide for basic needs. I also understand that Croatia mainly lives out of tourism, therefore it is always risky in case of another “pandemic” or travel restrictions and there’s always a calm off-season when it feels like country just slows down which as a result affects local businesses.
However, for those who are essential workers there’s less worry because they will be in demand anyways.
Moreover, I know that very often it could get lonely because of the language barrier and not having friends or family around. The "high" of beautiful weather, touristic season and scenery will begin to wear off after some time anyways and craving of human connection and higher purpose will only get stronger.
With above said, I am planning to do some more travelling around Croatia this year to understand this country better and see if I could potentially live there one day.
Thanks for your videos, Dusan, I find them useful and interesting.

Pray for your right decision and discernment ! We've been living in Australia for more than 40 years , and returned to Croatia in 2023 . We are Croatians, though. If you looking for conservative people , that resist oncoming world trends , this is a country for you ! If you after effective and organised administration and public services , then you will need lots of patience ! If you coming here with high expectations, you may find yourself dissapointed .

@ thank you Sonja! I certainly will. At the end of the day I can always rely on God’s protection no matter where I live.
May I ask where in Australia you were living and why did you make a decision to come to Croatia? How did it feel coming back after so many years?

@Sandrita3211 , Central Coast NSW ... During so called plan demic , entire country has turned into fear factory and used nasty old fashioned medieval methods ... It was beyond recognition , surpassed our most pesimistic predictions ! Please read between the lines .This was the main trigger that made us finally pack up . Stay strong , should you decide to come here , Croatia and It's people welcomes you ! We need you !

Hi Sandra thank you so much for the in depth comment you left!
Unfortunetely I dont have alot of time to write a long one back, but what i will do is try and answer some of your questions as to the point as I can
First of all living somewhere efficient might sound great but at the end of the day the most effiecient places are going to be the first places where they will introduce 15 minute cities and control. I feel the goal now is to get away from comfort and get used to it. It builds character and gets rid of the dependencies we don't actually need. Now i dont shop online anymore and i dont miss it, and save alot of money from unnecessary consumerism.
Salary isnt everything, but there is a tonne of oppertunity here that you can capitalise on by bringing a western mind and ideas here.
Again the low support etc make Croatia a good place to live in because all that stuff usually brings is people who are druggies that cba to work. Here in Croatia you need to get your ass up but it makes the environment safer and better.
Flights to manchester or london in the summer season are like 20 euros, yes your far frm family but maybe you can persuade them to leave too. Im in the process of retiring my mother.
Croatia is defo the wild west and unorganised, but i wouldnt change it, there is no chance in hell i would move back to the UK. Its depressing AF
Also every year there is huge ammounts of money being pumped into Croatia, I think i read that there will be an extra 500000 5 star hotel rooms coming next year. where as UK is stagnating or becoming worse
      Hope this somewhat helps!

@ thanks for your response Dusan. Appreciate it!
Just curious did you already know the language before moving?

  • @zoranorlic2423
    @zoranorlic2423 9 дней назад

Past is past. Time to move on. You need to (you don't really, but I suggest you do) work on your neck and a possibly a bit more on your legs. Nothing makes me think twice about fighting someone more than the sight of a bloke with thick, round neck. If you want to get a measure of someone's strength look at his neck first. His leg movement might be crap, co-oridinatio poor, but you try getting him off-balance. Not easy, trust me.
