You know how Dr. Two-Brains had some Jekyll and Hyde tendencies but they stopped over time as he became more chill? I like to believe that it's just his two brains just brewing together like a fine wine, becoming more connected.
You compromise with madness long enough, and it becomes sensible. Take it from a functional 28 year old with ADHD. For Doctor Two-Brains, it's cheese. For me it's Caffeine and Melatonin.
There's not really an in-universe explanation so much as a real world explanation. PBS Kids just thought that Two-Brians fluctuating between his two identities would be too scary for kids so they got rid of it. It doesn't really make sense for his two personalities to be at peace with each other when one one is an evil mouse and the other is a kind hearted scientist. The kind hearted scientist suffering was just too dark, so PBS Kids subtlety swept that aspect of Two Brains under the rug and hoped that kid viewership would forget about it.
I realize that unlike some other villains, TB tends to actually know the featured word or at least its meaning. It sort of explains his annoyance WordGirl's tendency to state it.
I think Two Brains is like the only villain who never needed a word defined. It makes sense, he's really smart. He probably doesn't know every word like Wordgirl does but still far more than the average city citizen.
I do remember like one or two occasions where he did need to have it defined, but the show does seem to have words defined less for smarter people. For example, Dr Two Brains actually even defined a word himsel, having the same jingle play when he did. Tobey, another example, has only ever had a word defined for him once or twice as well. I mean at least, right?
That last shot with Two Brains just slowly, sadly walking back into the darkness of his cell, knowing that things *won’t* ever be different hits much harder than it should…
His animation is just divine. Like those arms and how he moves is all so full of personality. As someone else said they really put the whole budget into his animation!

I think they were honestly setting up Dr. Two Brains accepting Tubing's offer and removing the mouse brain allowing Steven Boxleitner to return but they hadn't had time. The show finale was good but there's so many plot that could be used for episodes. At least there's fanfictions.

Maybe it only changes the density so cheese enlarged past it's regular size tastes different, but then couldn't he just get literally any material and enlarge that, then sell it to make enough make enough money to buy all the cheese he wants (he's half evil mouse so it's not like he'd care if the product was poor quality)? Or build a replicating ray and do the same for literally any product.
Tbh, he may be smart, but when it comes to some things (like cheese) throughout the show he can be hella impulsive, from what I remember. I'm surprised he can keep a budget at all, lol. Also, plot convenience.
Because I know WAY too much about this show, his TV wasn't always Mouse powered. It broke when he had a heated gamer moment when he slipped to number 2 villain of the week. I also remember him having it fixed more properly later on.
They wanted to make a kids' show that older viewers could enjoy as well, so they brought on writers from Family Guy and The Onion, etc. to make sure the humour and writing landed with everyone.
Honestly if they just put out more episodes without changing the art style I'd watch it on my deathbed lol This show was legit awesome and I'd LOVE to see it rebooted!
I remember this one scene from episode "Miss Power", where Doctor TB started talking like... Mentor. It felt like for a while real Steven showed up, seeing how corrupted Wordgirl starts to be. Only after Miss Power telling him that he's not the real Villain he switches off Steven and again, turning on Doctor TB. It shows how Steven within TB cares about Wordgirl and van develop strenght to fight back mouse brain and protect her.
Next time can you put in that one scene where he says something like, "If you need me I'll be eating a building." I've been trying to find that clip but can't
