Lieber Bernd, danke für dieses super Video. Habe selten so kurzweilig, so viele, so perfekte Szenen gesehen!
This movie is just wonderful, this railway is a unique relic of a disappearing world. Should be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, because of all the rail system still alive there, the exceptional landscape and the meaning it has for the country and for Africa.
Due to Ethiopian occupation & Eritrean war, IMAGINE this train was OUT OF SERVICE for more than 30 years. The tracks were removed to make under ground bunkers for the soldiers. Most of the train workers died in the war & the very few left behind were dislocatecd all over the world. But as soon as the war was over, the VERY FEW LIVING OLD TRAIN SERVICE MEN GOT TOGATHER, started COLLECTING & reconstructing the old track lines & RESTART the old idle engine, RESSURECTING the train service.
