- Mexico Is Building Biggest Airport In American Continent - Mexico Future Mega Project
Mexico City's New International Airport was announced by Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto on September 2, 2014, and is the largest public infrastructure mega project in a century. The new airport will replace current Benito Juárez International Airport, the busiest airport in Latin America transporting 41.7 million passengers in 2016
This $13 U.S. Billion-dollar airport is expected to begin operations in 2020 with three runways in operation simultaneously and a passenger capacity of 50 million per year. When fully completed, it will have two terminals and six runways with an annual passenger capacity of 125 million , making it the second largest airport in the world today.
The architecture :
The entrance to the terminal will feature a garden of cacti and symbols of the eagle and snake, part of the national symbol pictured on the country's Coat of Arms and flag.
The X is symbolic of the country's name, "México". An X-shape is also considered efficient to extend the number of gates. The X shape is used in the airports of Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Nairobi, Pittsburgh, and Incheon.
The roof is airy, lightweight, and made of membrane.
designed to be the world’s most sustainable airport, the compact single terminal uses less materials and energy than a cluster of buildings. the design ensures short walking distances and few level changes.
The terminal is to be sustainable, aiming for a LEED Platinum certification. The project claims it is "designed to be the world’s most sustainable airport".

I really like this airport! The design is so sleek
Skyscrapers & MegaProjects It my favorite airport in the world
I might be cancelled due to corruption just like the airport of Berlin
Skyscrapers & MegaProjects but do you really want to know what it took to get the land that they're going to build the airport in ??
It was canceled already, our new president, without being in charge yet, consulted the least prepared and informed people about it, the ignorant ones, which voted no for the airport. They don’t have any idea about macroeconomics and development.
4 the worl cup 🇲🇽 #Mexico 2026 🇲🇽... 👌😉
Better this airport than The Wall!
John Boler no
John Boler t mamastes we jejeje
Jordan K
Yes
No wall is better
John Boler well I think the Wall is better
Look out for interesting projects in Monterrey as well. They are like the "Texans of Mexico" the think big, work hard and are always wanting to compete with Mexico City. Monterrey is an amazing place that most people from the US don't know about.
Beautiful video nicely compiled.
Thanks
Beautiful.
It is an Art.
What an impressive country Mexico really is and that airport is gonna be tremendous! It will make our airports here in the U.S second rate.
Is the letter X of Mexico 🙈
El Gallo Veloz ....yup
Yes, you're right, that's what it represents
We are very proud of that X
El Gallo Veloz jaajajjaja better do the J xDDD
Wow, my beautiful Mexico is changing for better. I love this new airport. Can't wait to be there.
Fantastic! Makes american airports look like crap.
By 2050 most of the airports will be just as modern, but I agree, this makes some airports look like crap.
David Mayhew Agreed, especially MSP and LGA, the two biggest rundown airports I've been through thus far.
True many airports in America are older airports. Though I would assume they are going to build new futuristic airports. But for the time being Mexico showing the U.S whose boss.
David Mayhew yes it is!!
Nice vid bro
yay im mexican

*México is a great Nation*
Looks beautiful, hopefully some form of urban rail transit will be built out to it, considering that the current airport is directly served by the city's metro.

The airport so amazing/awesome!!... My goodness!!... Yeah! 😎👍
The video was absolutely nice but can you tell us how much it will cost to construct such a big project?
13 billion aprox
About 13 billion USD
Mukasa Umar + 13.3 Billion USD.
Y en un futuro llega el Mexloop
Great Mexico, from Brazil!
Stunning!!!!
woooow good job man
RGB Thanks
It looks so trippy from the inside, but still looks beautiful i must say.
Because Mexico is jumping steps, this is a future airport, that’s why it costs so much. Such a beautiful airport to say the least.
Nice Thumbnail
Nice music too!
We love this channel!
thanks
I appreciate this nice comment.
In the first minute you just show photos of 3 places in Mexico over and over. The last one around 0:45 is NOT Mexico.
mexico es the 2nd richest latin american country
No, the first.
Thanks to all the money that Mexican illegals in the US send home to Mexico.
Mexicans were in that territory before than gringos. Iligals all gringos with low profile without a place to live and without food that entered Texas without permission.
México is the second economy in the Americas due it's complexity, that means the infrastructure to manufacture hi tech products. Less complexity means just countries with raw materials.
"México is the second economy in the Americas"
Mexico has the second largest GNP in NORTH America.
Thanks to all the money that Mexican illegals in the US send home to Mexico.
According to the OECD, Mexico has an unemployment rate of 3.9%, which places it as the 4th country in the world with the lowest unemployment, above Germany and the United States.
Can you make a video on Mexico’s first skyscraper project Torre Reforma Colón by Sordo Madaleno
DIOS VLADIMIR I will do better than this. I am preparing a video about Mexico future mega projects .
Add in your video Diego Rivera district of Monterrey
FAR LEFT it's not the first skyscraper project.
This will be the new international airport the most beautiful in the world ...
WOW 😳
Awesome Mexico!
I saw Aeromexico and interjet and Volaris all using the 747 lol
Inspired by Frida Kahlo's eye brows.
Super like; frida lahlo is sooo overrated
Need some ointment for your burn?

İstanbul:Hold my AYRAN
I'm excited
This city is scary beautiful you can easily get lost there ...the news East Parque Mexico, is gorgeous thousands of news outstanding building with amazing parks and kids ground to play ...with man made lakes ...
Nice, but what kind of planes are those?? 3:14
Those are supersonic planes. They used to exist (concorde) but they kept crashing so they stopped running.
2060 year planes.
Not anymore ALMO canceled the project
not true
you're wrong my friend is scheduled to finish it in 2020 although I doubt it but for sure in a year or two it will be
X Marks the spot. Viva Mexico!
I love that the video is about Mexico but the music is Argentinian lol
The music is not argentinian you idiot. It’s a free copyright song
Very beautiful indeed! God knows how Mexico City is in need of a new airport. However, the new president says he's going to stop this project.
this is what you call a airport
0:43 that is not the picture of Mexico city but that is the picture of Jakarta
Unfortunately, that airport was canceled by the current president, another airport (AIFA) was built a little further from the City, it was inaugurated in 2022, but it can't even be better than the Texcoco airport.
Too late. Beautiful indeed but a source of the greatest corruption ever. Drying a whole lake was stupid corruption aside. Thanks fir watching :)
I can’t wait to go back to my second country
Amo a mi México
Hermoso México
First
Mexico preparing themselves to be able to send half of their population over the wall with planes hahaa
Jowey de la Nota BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH💩💨💨💨😵😷
I',m not a Mexican but I thought Mexicans hate their president for building this airport instead of focusing on main issues like there growing water shortage and how it will become like a Cape Town situation, why doesn't he spend his money their then just a really nice airport?
Nice airport
0:41 is Jakarta !!
Are they expecting it to be a hub between North and South America? I don't see how else they could get that much traffic.
Frank K yes, due to its centric position in the Americas, destinations will open within north and South America as well as Europe and Asia. In the first year of operation, the airport is expected to have a jump in traffic of up to 20-30%. Last year Mexico City had 44M passengers, with 3M passenger increase, so if the tendency continues, by the time the airport opens (2021) it will get about 55-60M passengers if that 20-30% increase happens.
México city with his current midium size airport already have the most traffic in Latin America
Lol .. Mexico does is 2nd to China in manufacturing..!! They do business with most of the world .. man people are brainwashed to believe that Mexico is just a dump
6th most visited country in the world doesn’t get air traffic? HAHAHAH
True, but what percentage of visitors drive across the border? The San Ysidro crossing is one of the busiest in the world: 15,000,000 cars and 8,000,000 pedestrians. As for being a hub to South and Central America, it already has competition: Houston and Miami come to mind. Don't get me wrong, I believe the new airport will attract new traffic, I'm just a bit skeptical that it can become the biggest airport in the Americas.
What’s the name of this beautiful music?
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I like that apparently there are spaceships landing
Seems like they are anticipating what future aircraft might look like which given the construction timeline (now to 2065) is not entirely off base.
Yes to fly you outta here forever
Maybe cancelled by the new president due to allegedly corruption in contracts
Not for too long we hope.
They go Mexico is one of the richest countries in Latin America /Mexico is the richest countrie in Latin America
But is the airport going to be finished in 2020 or 2066??
Phase 1 is gonna be completed in 2020
There are 4 phases, Phase #1 will be completed by 2020, Phase #4 will be completed by 2050.
The airport will open in 2020. Unfortunately the entire airport with all terminals and runways open is going to open between 2050 and 2060.
King Muffin No, the Phase 1 (one terminal and three runways) will be finished by October, 2020. The rest (another three runways, a second terminal and two satellite terminals) will be constructed depending on how much the demand grows.
Nerf is action NO 2020 THE SAME YEAR TRUMP GETS HIS BUTT VOTED OUT !!!
Just in Time before World Cup 2026 👍
Song?
2065....?????
Dave Saenz no 2030 its hope to finish
1976, in August
lol all the plains in the videos are supersonic and some lift off vertically wtf
Lopha you never know, if Donald Trump became president and “Dame tu Cosita” is on Spotify, ANYTHING can happen, 40 years ago to now many things have changed, and imagine in more than 40 years from now.
Well, probably in 2050 that will be something as normal as the airplanes we have nowadays.
Have they already finished the great wall?
Mexicans already workin on it. It will be finished in 2087
Fuck u fat ass nerd.
That wall has to have a chance to even be built to talk about.
Vitaliy WANT SOME TACOS WITH THAT WALL WITH AN ORDER OF FRIES!!
jomax clux WHERE ARE THOSE FACTS !! PROVE IT AND NOT WITH FAKE FACTS . WHY DONT YOU TALK SMACK OF THE POOR INFRASTRUCTURE OF YOU COUNTRY SEEN ALL OVER. BEGGERS AND WHITE UNDER BRIDGES AND MASS KILLERS . TALK ABOUT A LACK OF EVERY THING!
this looks like a carbon copy of bao an intl in shenzhen
Shenzen? You mean Piracy city?
Completed by 2065??? That’s a joke right?
will be completed In 2019 the information is wrong
In 2020* will be completed.
Phase 1 is gonna be completed by 2020, the rest will be constructed according to demand growth.
It is supposed to have first its X-shaped terminal, then its satellite, then a second Y-shaped terminal and finally a second satellite, that's why it'll take so long.
ahhdavy it’s the master plan, the airport will be completed in 2021, but the master plan in different phases will be competed until 2065, just like brand new airports and American airports following those plans.
Title makes it seem like the airport is being built in the United States, should have added an “s” so it made the word “Americas.”
I ALREADY HAVE THE NAME FOR THESE AIRPORT, GRAN QUETZALCÓATLH , IN HONOR TO THE ASTECS LEYEND.
What will be first, the airport completion or the wall. mmhhh. maybe the wall will have be shorter
2065? Looooong project 😯
Eric Garza
2020
Yes, the video is wrong, it will be finished in 2020.
Francisco Javier Mendez Pedraza 😁👍🏼
What they need to do is help the poor stop the violence and have job and get rid president everyone's working for him so it could be a way better place for everyone to leave stop all the corruption their is there Mexico really need to clean up and it will be a better place..
that makes no sense but sure, we're working on solving all those issues ;)
So what their is violence and widespread poverty in every country. Just look at Philadelphia, Oakland, Chicago the cities in the U.S with the most homicides. This is Mexico's only megaproject in a century. It's a megaproject fit and needed for a megacity that is the heartbeat for the country and economy.
No no no
Corruption lost and it wasn't build, at least not that one
Fun fact the project for the new Mexico City airport is not even in Mexico City is in the closest State and to make this airport reachable to most of the actual CDMX citizens would be necessary to build new roads, metro, and direct public transportation that is also as cheap as it is today, when you can get to the airport for .25USD$ metro and for .10USD$ on electric buses, now fun fact none of this so necessary urban infrastructure is under construction at this moment nor there's known plans for it, maybe that is why this project looks stupidly unnecessary and awfully planned, plus all the corruption that is behind the project itself before, during and must probably after, this is why there should be referendums for all this superprojects
There are talks and plans for transportation to and from the airport including roads and public transportation. The details are not public, but I wouldn't see why they would build an airport further away at considerable costs without considering a way to get there. As it is there are already bullet trains and high speed rail completed recently or under construction from Mexico CIty to other nearby major cities, so I don't see how it would be a problem to build public transportation to the new airport which is much closer to CDMX.
Alberto Vargas What's your point, the urban conurbation of Mexico city extends into several states. The airport is on very close proximity to the current airport. You make it seems as if those bordering starts were far away. After all Mexico city is surrounded by state like Washington dc
It will be completed in 2065?
Phase 4. Phase 1 will be completed in 2020.
US airports are also remodeling and making their airports more modern
Which one in particular if i may ask!? 😁
Well LAX (Los Angeles International) for one, but construction is very slow, and I'm a wait and see kind of guy.
SOME U.S. airports. Most are outdated. Denver is the newest airport the U.S . has, and construction was finished in the early 1990s (it's also one of the easiest to use and get around). Boston Logan isn't bad, neither is Dulles in Washington D.C. The rest however...
check the new ISTANBUL airport :)
This airport could be called by the new government AMLO . The reason is because is located in a dangerous place, that before was a lake , and also AMLO is going to check deeply if is corruption in this proyecto, because the cost went up more than they supost before.
Toda la CDMX está sobre un lago
İstanbul on the way :D
We need more oil refineries, not more fucking airports, we already have a shit load of them.
They canceled it...
