I disagree with walking off the track and letting them pass. That’s a good way to get killed. He did the best he could do just slowly backing up until safe. ESPECIALLY if you’re by yourself. You never isolate yourself further. Every Predators instinct will take advantage of that

I've had this encounter before, I didn't film it but a bear and a cub was following me.. My first instinct was to pet it but it's a bear so I didn't, instead I backed away crying over the fact that if I pet it I might die, a few moments later they just went off trail and went into the forest and I've never been so sad and happy at the same time my whole entire life

That reminds me of when I was hiking and had a mom and cubs following. Not as close mind you and we went on opposite sides of the lake along its length. She didn't seem to mind at all. That reminds me of when I was hiking and had a mom and cubs following. Not as close mind you and we went on opposite sides of the lake along its length. She didn't seem to mind at all. At the end of the lake, she went into the woods off of the trail. We met up again at the parking lot. She recognized me and gave a short huff of recognition while the tourists did their stupid things.
