Finally being diagnosed with ADHD in my 70s was a revelation of the highest order. I'm an artist, musician, writer, editor sorta guy. Now, at 76, I sit in a recliner and binge watch YT vids. Happy to meet you, STM. Listening to you as you draw/paint kept my attention thru the whole vid. Love your outlook, and your use of the language. I'd like to say you've inspired me to get off my duff and hit the drawing board, but. You know.

yeah .... i have your disease. i am a crow picking up shiny things. abundance paralysis makes a lot of sense. i appreciate your candor, theres no "wrap up feel good paragraph" to prescribe to your viewers, you're not an art doctor but you are an awesome artist doing your best thing. i appreciate your videos, and ive only found you since you returned to youtube! thanks for being cool as hell. hopefully one day my full chest paralyzing abundance fear goes away and im not being sucked out from the art im making wishing to be making something else lol

Abundance Paralysis is a tough thing to break - just trying to figure it out myself - but one thing that has helped is if I just pick something, even if it's not that great, and just start making it before I can second-guess the project to death. It hasn't even been two weeks and we re getting a new vid? Is there a glitch in the matrix?! Funny, this topic is something I've been discussing with friends latetly. I remembered how in the beginning (I only 'do art' for a couple of years and started when I was already old, so I can actually remember it) I would sit down and try to think up something to draw, and that part used to be the challenge. But now, when I got more confident with my 'skills' the challange is to decide what to pick out of all the ideas that are stuck in my head :D The segment on the mid-night chat with your brain is very realistic and 100% accurate... Also that's a bold statement in the first 8 seconds of the video :D C'mon man, you do care about star wars, don't make Chewie sad... *sad wookie noises*

Hi, first time caller: for me it's most likely ADHD or ADD, whatever the term is now. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons? It's all just not having enough brain juices, dopamine, serotonin, etc.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when I get a phone call from my mom who is severely ADHD, and she says, “I’m bored…“ My usual responses yeah well I’m overwhelmed with ideas. Why don’t you do some! Lol.
Do you really not like video games and Star Wars? Just curious. (I find it a bit odd.) Not gonna be upset if you don't.( I don't care for Star Trek all that much.) Awesome advice though. These videos are pretty good.
Well, James, here comes some semantics games... I didn't say I didn't like them, I said I don't play or care about them. 😁 It's an inciting opening statement meant to catch people off guard and want to know more... to keep watching. Video games and classic films are all fine and good, I just don't give them the heavy weight status that many people do. Most things on this channel come with a large helping of friendly snark and sarcasm. Thanks for watching!

I can totally relate to this! I have started keeping a notebook with me to write down ideas, then I tell myself I will get to it when I have time.
