- I took my daughter Freya to a secret bothy for the night. I know some people will know where this is though! It had some serious luxury for a bothy with a full kitchen, running water, toilet and wood supply! A lot of bothies do not have most of these things and only offer you shelter.
There was many food and drink supplies left by previous generous visitors to the place. Two bikepackers turned up and there was so much space in there we each had our own bedrooms. I had to get up quietly in the morning and make coffee outside because I woke up pretty early. Freya really enjoyed her first time in a bothy.

Best bothy video I've seen, yet. Nice as the well-provisioned kitchen was, the scenery was even better -- but seeing dad and daughter truly enjoy simple, quality time together really set it apart. Kudos to both Mom and Dad for raising a sweet, engaging young lady. Thanks for sharing.

loved watching this. creating amazing memories for your daughter. I stayed her a few years back in teh snow and it had massive gas bottles and gas stove back then!

Happened to me before , woke up starving, only to find out the lorne sausages were off.. always take breakfast frozen now , seems to work out. Cracking bothy that .

Amazing as always mate, oh and you Freya! I have watched a few of your dads vlogs and i think this is the best so far..... What a great place to stay the night, talk about oldy worldy and then some. Make the most of them moments mate it seems only yesterday i was taking my daughter camping, lol she's 25 now!

Last time I was there, there was still a gas oven with two hob burners, there used to be gas lighting throughout, a gas fire and a gas powered water heater over the sink.
Where the wood stove is now I remember the remains of a kitchen range but was able to have an open fire.
A lovely bothy to visit and what a nice video you've made. It's nice to see it still in good order.

I'm very glad you've stayed there, it's an amazing place. That bottle of wine you showed has been there for a while but the rest was fresh. It's a very popular place so gets restocked regularly. There is a cool waterfall upstream that you'll have to see next time you visit 👍
I can't see anyone tucking into that wine lol yeah I can see why it's popular very easy to get to and a great building. I missed that waterfall!
@@MrWildWales The waterfall is about 400m upstream and marked on the OS map. I've been offline for a while as a farmer ploughed up my cable back in the summer and it's only just been fixed. It's going to take me weeks to catch up on everyone's vids lol.

Ahh man. I was supposed to go to spain this week but im full of cold soni told my daughter we will do another bothy this weekend. This one looks like luxory may have to visit this! She will be just as happy as your little one.

Camped in here Tuesday night. Had the place to myself. Didn't enjoy having to unblock the bog mind. Full of kitchen towel!!

I’ve paid for hotel stays far less comfortable and well stocked than that. Can we even call it a bothy? It’s more like Staffless hotel.

If you plan to take meat, take a cooler, or keep it outside in the cold and if there's a river/lake and they are all in retail packaging, put them under water in the cold water, it'll be like a fridge :) obviously weigh package down with a bunch of stones or something.
