Chiptunes and Synth Pop are kind of similar to Dancehall but The Jamaican People were extremely tasteful and asvanced culturally compared to Americans in terms of the development of electronic music technology.
American Musicians and Bands wanted to stay more in the past and Jamaica had Ambient Music at the exact same time Germany did. They were also advanced in the development and effective use of said technology. Both Japan and Parts of Europe (mostly Germany and England) and Japan (really Japan more than anywhere else in Asia) also developed similar technology and music around a similar time in The 70s but Jamaican Early Electronics is extremely advanced for what it was at the time compared to most of the world.
Man you had to live in this era to understand the magnitude of this song!! It wasn’t a proper without this tune. Soo much great memories with this song

Sweet Jamaican music (whether Mento, Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae or Dancehall) is not just about lyrics, but also about the beat & riddim to dance to. Some recent artistes don't seem to realize that.
