Had’t thought about canning sweet potatoes for fries. Good thing we have some left to try it with! Thanks for sharing.

Very soft when they come out of the jar! Less salt would be better or sugar!

Great idea. I’ve often thought it’d be a great idea to can russets for quick fried potatoes. I might just try it now. Thank you!

A piece of advise russet potatoes don't make good fries, but golden and red potatoes do

Looking good my friend. Note to self: be sure the jars are cooled completely before frying the fries. Definitely a good long term storage solution.

Just a different shape or cut. Less salt i think would help.. But it was fun...Some good beef Chili is my next item to can...

@@TheSwaffordHomestead I picked up a few things to make chili today. I have 5 lbs of hamburger thawed in the fridge and plan to make chili and can part of it and to brown and can the rest of the burger.
But I wasn't planning to make a video of any of it.

@@geekygardensLOL I picked up 10lb of burger meat(on Sale!), and plan on making a large pot of Chili. Not sure on video yet...We decided to make up meals now while its cold here. They would be awesome come summer, when it gets too hot to run the stove!

@@TheSwaffordHomestead That was my thought too! Get the canning done before the heat sets in. But I need to hurry - we may be into the 80's by next weekend.

I do not believe I will ever can sweet potatoes ever again. Did TWO batches, TWO different days, TWO different batch of potatoes also, and they are disgusting. Mushy, worse than mashed potatoes, tastes as if spoiled potatoes. Followed directions faithfully. Sweet potatoes were organic (expensive), water, and a little bit of salt. Nothing else. Jars sealed perfectly, both times. Cooked them on the stove and they were delicious. So, it wasn't the sweet potatoes. I shook a jar and the potatoes disintegrated. Maybe that's what is supposed to happen, but it is disgusting (for me).
I see all these videos with these beautiful canned sweet potatoes that look so delicious. Tossed both experiments in the garbage. So disappointed.

The sweet potatoes fries do better in an air fryer or oven.
