When did he serve 20 weeks? I've heard one tour was only eight weeks and the other 10. Either way, Bunker Harry did no real work there. He hid and played video games, had others making his tea, he was cosplaying as a soldier, posed for photos pretending to do things looking clueless or like he thought the whole thing was a game, and you can see the stress and affects of war on the faces of the other soldiers, but not his. All while the real men did the work and guarded him. Two USA Marines died protecting him when their base was attacked by the Taliban trying to get Harry, men who would be alive if Harry didn't want to play soldier, an attack that Harry allegedly slept through. If Harry had any respect for Veterans and the fallen, he'd honor those two Marines and their sacrifice for his sorry behind, but he never utters their names as he buys his awards and claims to be all about service and the military.
Harry does not deserve this award for so many reasons. He did not start the Invictus Games and he was never a helicopter pilot- he failed the exam three times. Harry allegedly cancelled the fund-raising concert for Invictus Games in 2020 in collaboration with Amazon Prime because it clashes with his Netflix deal. It is clear where Harry's priority lies which is his own pocket. 5. Harry was neither outstanding nor selfless with his military/public services. He was well protected on the front line, was given privileges to leave the army premises during mandatory dr ug testing to avoid him being dr ug tested according to Spare, got into Sandhurst despite lacking in academic grades, abandoned his duties as the Captain General of Royal Marine by not attending the memorial of the Royal Marines but instead attended the Lion King Premiere to pitch for voice over work for his wife, abandoned his life of service to King and country to pocket personal fortune and rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood stars. 6. Pat Tillman's mum herself has protested the lack of Harry's suitability for this award as a divisive and controversial figure. I am so embarrassed for Harry to accept this award as he is without dignity or honour.

As a veteran I find this to be so disrespectful. He disregarded the wishes of a Gold Star mother. He has wrecked the Invictus Games since he married. Before he married Harry was a blessing to the Invictus Games. After he married, he allowed his wife to physically CLING to him to keep him from his duties as Invictus patron. Countless times we saw her physically pull him away from talking to veterans if she wasn’t the center of attention.
We all want Invictus to succeed, but it won’t until Harry emancipates himself from his wife’s clinginess during Invictus Games events. It would be better if she stayed away. I think Harry might get it back on track if he is left alone to fulfill his duties.

My husband of 29 years retired from the Marine Corps after over 25 years of service. Just as Pat Tillmans mother said this award should never have gone to someone so privileged and decisive. If he had any class he would have turned down the award or had real veterans (not veterans he made stay on the stage with him) or staff associated with Invictus on the stage and he would NOT have used the death of his own mother to try and make it about him and use his trauma as damage control. Let’s not forget he did NOT found the Invictus Games, the RF needed something they could give him to do. He and his wife are narcissists who have no empathy or respect towards anyone.

When did he serve 20 weeks? I've heard one tour was only eight weeks and the other 10. Either way, Bunker Harry did no real work there. He hid and played video games, had others making his tea, he was cosplaying as a soldier, posed for photos pretending to do things looking clueless or like he thought the whole thing was a game, and you can see the stress and affects of war on the faces of the other soldiers, but not his. All while the real men did the work and guarded him. Two USA Marines died protecting him when their base was attacked by the Taliban trying to get Harry, men who would be alive if Harry didn't want to play soldier, an attack that Harry allegedly slept through. If Harry had any respect for Veterans and the fallen, he'd honor those two Marines and their sacrifice for his sorry behind, but he never utters their names as he buys his awards and claims to be all about service and the military.
Harry does not deserve this award for so many reasons. He did not start the Invictus Games and he was never a helicopter pilot- he failed the exam three times. Harry should have had the decency to decline The Pat Tilman award especially after Pat's mother made it clear she didn't think Harry should receive it, but apparently Harry only cares about Harry. This whole thing is a disgrace.

Harry and his wife accommodation and her clothing is funded by the charity when they attend events. An American award being given to a British citizen, who has been investigated because he admitted to drug use but was still allowed citizenship, makes a joke of the meaning behind the award if you ask me, what a shallow victory for Mr Harry Markle.
The award is for someone who improves the lives of other people using the power of sport, which is exactly what Harry has done.
It is not just for Americans, other nationalities have received it.
A couple of years ago it went to a British footballer who used his fame to provide 21 millions meals to vulnerable children during the pandemic.

I love the courage, spirit and grace of the wonderful men and women, who have suffered and lost so much through war, and yet come back and can rebuild their spirits, bodies, minds & souls through fellowship and sport.
They are a wonderful example to all of us.
And yet, I find it actually upsetting to see Prince Harry accepting this award.
I think he is doing it all for selfish PR for his own commercial brand and to try to outshine his brother William.

Harry may have made a point of mentioning Pat Tillman's mother in his speech, knowing that she didn't want Harry to get the award, but I feel like he is rubbing her nose in it by referring to the mother son bond (making it about him again). Also, he says he has respect for her. He doesn't have respect for her, or he would not have accepted the award as per her wishes. As for the Invitus games, I am sure there are a team of people doing the hard work to actually put the event together. They are the unsung hero's but never seem to be acknowledged. Harry just swans in as the PR guy and gets all the glory. Plus, it was Charles and William that started the Invictus games and then gave it to Harry, so he had something to do. Shame on you Harry, the Invictus games get a lot of publicity. You should have given the unsung hero a chance as I believe that is what the Pat Tillman award is all about. When Harry gets up to get his award the audience rise (slowly it has to be said) to applaud. Unfortunately Invictus was not founded by Harry, not has it ever been funded by Harry; Invictus was an initiative of an Royal Foundation Aide, financed by William and given to Harry to keep him out of trouble. Additionally, Mary Tillman is right, he should not have been nominated or accepted this award and this award has now discredited ESPN. Mary's views should be respected more than his wife's, who has moved on with a new husband. Mary will always be Pat's mum and nothing will change it. My heart goes out to Mary who's views are legit and should have been respected. I would imagine that ESPN wanted the publicity as they are no longer a non-profit but about making money.

He is shameless to accept this award. Harry has no understanding of service, and has left his family and country. The mother of this fallen hero had misgivings about Harry receiving the award, and that should have been the end of it. It is in HER deceased son’s name. Harry, however, continues to serve himself.

Very poor taste to order those veterans to keep him company on stage. They were clearly uncomfortable, and he should have let them exit instead of ordering them to hang around like the spoilt brat that he is. He didn't even highlight them in his speech, so there was no need to keep them up there any longer. Despicable.

Harry is accepting an empty award that he does not deserve.
1. Invictus Games was not even his original idea but is a copy from Warrier Games in the US.
2. Invictus Games was not Harry's creation but is an initiative by the Royal Foundation which was headed by Prince William, Catherine, PoW, and Harry, funded by King Charles, ground works supported by talented royal staffs with collaboration from the Ministry of Defense to get it off the ground.
3. Harry spends a couple of weeks per year on Invictus Games and even then, it is for self publicity with Meghan's fashion show being front and centre.
4. Harry allegedly cancelled the fund-raising concert for Invictus Games in 2020 in collaboration with Amazon Prime because it clashes with his Netflix deal. It is clear where Harry's priority lies which is his own pocket.
5. Harry was neither outstanding nor selfless with his military/public services. He was well protected on the front line, was given privileges to leave the army premises during mandatory dr ug testing to avoid him being dr ug tested according to Spare, got into Sandhurst despite lacking in academic grades, abandoned his duties as the Captain General of Royal Marine by not attending the memorial of the Royal Marines but instead attended the Lion King Premiere to pitch for voice over work for his wife, abandoned his life of service to King and country to pocket personal fortune and rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood stars.
6. Pat Tillman's mum herself has protested the lack of Harry's suitability for this award as a divisive and controversial figure.
I am so embarrassed for Harry to accept this award as he is without dignity or honour.
You don't know how much time Harry spends throughout the year in preparation for the Invictus Games. Regardless of your opinions and those of the rest of those paid Harry and Meghan haters, Harry is head of that organization and is very much deserving of that award. Deal with it!
