- Mariam returns home after four years at Stanford with a Korean male friend to find herself in the midst of a traditional Emirati family dinner organized by her famous butcher father.
Desert Rose Films produced this short family comedy with Nancy Paton in Abu Dhabi during Ramadan 2019 and finished post-production with Nineseven1 Creative during Ramadan 2020.
‘The DInner' was written, directed, and acted by the winners of the Desert Rose Films Female Short Film Program; Afana Abdulraoof Issa Alqasimi, Mona Albaloushi, and Noura Bint Hussam Al Saud. Check out our website for more details about our program.

very informative !, Mariam is obviously in distress, yes also insane however, Western schools aren't all that bad! Stanford is the 2nd best school in the California Republic (CA State) it's top20 USA also!

This is why you don't send your children to western universities. They will go to learn one thing and come back learning 10 other things that are not normal. Preserve your Arab culture and more importantly preserve the way of islam. Send them to Islamic Universities where they will learn all the necessary academic subjects and stay with those who are believers in Allah.

cheekyape Islamic schools are not everything Egypt is of course very experienced with educational matters, it's of course flattering, and this particular lineage of egyptian influenced schooling is very very popular these days
