The roots of the Dioscorea discolor are called tubers, and the roots of potatoes and yams are tubers. I am sure we all new what you meant they are very interchangable discriptions. I have added this plant to my short list. I enjoy a few plants that go dormant, and especially enjoy the fast growers to hold me over while impatiently waiting for the slow growers to push out a leaf. I love the colors and marking on the leaves. Waiting for spring to shop. Thanks again for the enteraining and informative content!

@@MrFreakplayer well if keeping them moist is too much of a hasste for you then go with planks, it´s that easy. You can also decide to just do one or two mosspoles for the beginning and see how you like it. I did that and put my adinsonii on a pole, first I had a diy mesh pole like Jan does, but I didn´t relly like it (might have been how I build it) I know have a pole out of PVC pipe, witch just a wide opening in the front. The moss holds on it´s own and there are no bars in the way if I ever want to take it out and propagate. It´s also quide sturdy and easy to extend, though not the prettiest (grey plastic, but could be spray painted) I think a closed pole makes a significant difference in how fast it dries out, as does the diameter and the humidity you have. I also have plants like my green monstera which is not on a mosspole, as I don´t think it needs it, it´s growing just fine with a normal support.
