Nice shave Heiko. Glad you got back safely from your trip. I like the description of the open comb smoothness of the Parker. I always find the ends of the open comb on the open combs I have to be sharp. have a great weekend. 👍🎅

Very good review. Sounds like much less blade feel than the Yaqi Ultima. I’m trying to sell mine as well.
Assume you still prefer the Leaf Twig? I had one and sold it on BST last year. Regretting it.

Yes I do! I still use it very often. The Leaf razor doesn't give me the pride of ownership like a Rex or the Homelike Taiga would but it is a really great mild early morning razor.

If I want a thorough and pleasant shave, should I choose the Parker Variant with an open or closed comb?

The Variant closed comb I have not tried but if it is anything like the Merkur Progress it is a pleasant razor but I can speak for the Variant Open Comb. The Variant OC is a very smooth razor. It was a very pleasant surprise. I love it.
