"%1"%* means nothing, or just a useless file by your computer, when you actually follow the tutorial, it asks "Please select a program to open this EXE file with." Do not follow this tutorial at all costs. I ended up having to use a USB drive to use a restore point because the program you use to do it is also an .EXE file. Since Registry Editor is a .EXE file, you can't even use that to fix it. So don't under ANY circumstances follow this tutorial. This video is malicious. It's like a virus, but you don't download anything. It's just editing your computer to make it almost unusable. So again, do NOT follow this tutorial.

@@forgivenkobe4386 Oh, sorry... Well you can do it one of 2 ways. Right click on the desktop icon and select "troubleshoot compatibility", then click "try recommended settings". Windows will select a compatibility mode for the program, for example Windows 7 or 8, then click "test program". If it opens and works Windows will ask if you wanna save the settings, click yes. The other way is to do it yourself. Right click the program, click "properties", then "click the top right tab" compatibility". Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for". The dropdown menu below that will then become clickable and u can select a version of windows to try. Windows 7 usually works. Click "apply" then "OK".
Before opening the program again, right click and "run as administrator".
It should work after that

This didn't help at all! I did it and after the restart i can't open many apps (exe) like Google chrome or command prompt. When I select an app a window shows up writing "how do you want to open this file" and then there is no option! I can't undo what the f!ck I've done.
@@anmoalram9962 unfortunately I had to restart my computer and delete everything inside.
@@anmoalram9962 I tried to undo the settings I've changed with the video guides but I couldn't open the command prompt. So I did a factory reset.
@@anmoalram9962 go to settings -- > update& security --> recovery --> reset this pc, afterwards i choose to delete everything, i did not keep any application etc.

none of these didn't work for me. so i found a solution myself.
run cmd as administrator and type this command='' sfc /scannow ''. after the system scan go to your .exe file and run it as administrator.

If you cant do anything , then go to local system repair centre and format windows. If you know format windows , then do it yourself

@@itskasch9853 yh I already fixed it, turns out the executor I was trying to download had problems, so I had to download a different executor and it worked fine, it opened and worked in games, I also needed to turn off all my antivirus, I thought I only had 1 but I had 2 anti viruses, afterwards I turned off real time protection and the other ones below real time. And everything was perfect, that's all I did.
