The only time an AFK tank even remotely tarnishes an Epic level medal is if they are the last tank on the field. Until that point, an AFK tank still functions as a scout/spotting device for smart players to use. Let's be honest here, most bads aren't useful for much more to begin with.
Unlike Quicky, I'm not trying to maintain a viewership from a game where statistically speaking, the majority of players are absolutely horrible at it.
+TornadoADV i'll be honest, i'm one of those baddies. sometimes my matches would have gone a little better if i just afk'd. i have ~2k games, so i have that excuse, but i've seen some people with x10 my games who do dumb crap that i would never dream of doing.
+TornadoADV If it's afk in its base then chances are it won't be spotting anything of use.
Tosh Omni An AFK tank at base acts as a tripwire, letting the remaining active tanks know where the enemy is. Knowledge/Recon is power.
QB, about that series where you plan to take a look at more rare and underrated tanks.
my suggestions would be KV-13, Pz. III/IV and 113.
KV-13 is a solid medium tank with heavy tank armor which has a very akward spot in the tech tree.
Pz. III/IV is in the VK3002 DB line which is no longer an option to go for since they added the RU251 and the SP I C.
and 113 is a not so heavy heavy tank which has a not so good reputation.

So glad to hear about this! I got the M48A1 just before the debuff. I really loved it, then for me because unplayable, as I was a fairly new player at the time. Glad to see it competitive again!

Quickybaby, this is a late response but, you are aware that the real M48A1 was equipped with a 90 mm gun and when mounted with the 105 mm and a diesel engine it was an M48A5. Wish Wargamming would get that right. These things would catch on fire when started due to the way the fuel system was and everyone would abandon the tank except the driver because if he pushed the throttle to the floor sometimes the fire would burn itself out. The M48A3's we had in Vietnam had the diesel engine and the fire problems on starting went away. Thanks for your great videos and picking out the parts where gifted players like this one stand out. Thought you might like a perspective on what the real deal was like and keep up the good work.
Loved the M48A1 back in the day for what some would say were the "soft stats" that you mentioned. I put it on the shelf for a long time and just took it out after watching your video. Made me very happy to play it again.
I DESPISE AFK enemies because I DESPISE it when an enemy who is making a miss-play or is otherwise out of position or making a mistake ends up in a position to punish me (granted it's usually also because I am making a mistake as well). But still, it irks me so much that someone can make a mistake that would not accomplish ANYTHING AT ALL if I wasn't trying to make whatever play I decide on. That includes being spotted by an AFK tank, or a camping heavy whose only accomplishment is to put a few shells into me throughout the entire game- after which it either dies uselessly or contributes nothing to its winning team. So frustrating.

Speaking of underrated tanks, Obj. 263 is probably one of the best tanks in the game, highly underrated if not the most underrated.

I was disappointed when I got mine a year ago as my first tier 10, but since they buffed the armor when it became hd and now the tank also having the snapshots I got used to in the m46 it makes the tank feel like something completely new.

T44 ammoracked, you can see the turret flying, I first thought it was a tree falling, like when artillery shell hits ground :)
I actually loved the M48 over the last year or so that I had it. My friends and I often joked about how the M48 was obviously OP since I did so well in it.
QB makes a valid point. While I'm not a hardcore world of tanks player, I take pride in doing the best I can. It was very much a heartbreak to see that SP1C AFK at the end of my IS-3A match. I didn't think to kill the artillery first either and use my last round to take out the AFK. LOL. So please don't be bashful, it's like scoring an empty net goal in a hockey game, did you really earn it?
I started down the m48 line after they nerfed it, and now that I'm just about angled to buy the m48, the buff it, which makes me happy
I can´t explain to you how happy i am with these buffs. The M48 is the first tier 10 i ever got, and i have been heart broken every time wargaming added a new medium that outperformed it every way.
This is why I like to play light tanks in that other tank game, especially the VFM 5 or the Stingray 2, because they have a very similar play style only with better sped and acceleration :D
I miss the first KB-1 and KB-1C. My most played tanks.

Awesome match. The M48 has always been a decent tank, even after the 8.0 nerfs. So glad to see the great buffs in 9.13!
i'm glad i picked this up recently, i liked the HD model and the historical aspect but they buffed it one patch later!
the patton was my first ever tier 10 tank and i got it when it was top of the tree the last time, so that was like in late 2014 i think? i love to play it even if it was under powered compared to the other tier 10 meds, but i didnt care the gun handling was still good and with this buffs its the best performing 105mm gun imo
I like this skin for QB, his blue Ralph Lauren skin is the best. Gives the best crew buffs.
remember tier 4 russian heavy with 82mm gun... pz4 with long cannon.... kv1s with 120mm gun... perfectly accurate artillery... as fun as being OP was, thanks god for balancing.
I was rather indifferent to wether i wanted to do this line to the end before. But seeing this and learning that the tier X patton has this run&gun/snapfire playstyle i am now STOKED to play this line to its conclusion. I'm going to blast through the last 25k xp in my T20 to get my pershing. :D
When this tank came out, I rushed to get it and got to the M46 Patton. Then the nerf came, I should get the grind going again some time.
I watched your recent charity live stream (well done) and noticed your having trouble with the Comet, i myself recently got it and I'm struggling to play it, can you do a video showing how the HD re-modelling has effected gameplay of this tank, i'm surprised i'm having so much trouble with it considering my love for the Cromwell, cheers QB keep up the great work.
I completely abandoned the American mediums after they nerfed it way back. I even retrained my crew into a heavy tank and mothballed my Super Pershing. I might have to adjust my philosophy now. Thanks, WG.
As a sub 1k Win8 player I can understand the being on the happy side a tank was AFK. Though 10k games played. maybe after another 50K games

I think the AFK argument is a good one. Both sides make sense. For me, I wouldn't feel any different if the player was AFK or if you had to fight them straight up. Winning is all that matters. No tarnishment on anything as long as you win.

I unlocked this tank a few months into the release of xbox 360 World Of Tanks and I still have not even bought it, it has been unlocked for so long. Might have to go buy it
QB you said you were going to do a series of unnusual tanks.... i would love to see the KV13! It has the hull of the IS and has great speed! Only prob is gun penetration, handeling and depression.
I've had the M46 for awhile, but never seriously ground for The M48 due to its bad rep. well 9.13 changed that, and combined with the sale i ground it out and bought it for a million less. I've only played one game in it so far, but I did 6k damage... So I think I'll like this tank :P
It would absolutely make my week if you did an overview of the M10 Wolverine. Statistically it doesn't look as good as the T67 in a lot of respects, but it's one of my favorite tanks in the game. (Yeah, I know. It's considered low tier by you, but it's still technically a mid tier tank).
I sold my M48A1 in favor of the tier 9 that retained most of its good qualities. I may have to reconsider buying the M48A1 back if it's been returned to glory. But that means grinding another 6 million credits.
I might consider coming back and playing a little now. After I spent a lot of time and resources to get the M48 it was nerfed after only 2 months so I was pretty frustrated. I understand it was pretty OP but they didn't lower it to other tank's levels of competitiveness they made it arguably the worst T10 medium in the game. I play a couple of goes and see what's what.
stb1 also has better depression and smaller target but patton is now a consideration
I agree with that competitive challenge thing.. just had a huge result (11 kills 1v7 kolobanovs) in kv-1 , but it felt nothing Because it was so easy

DEANOGTO It's the Type 62 for me.
The E-100 line suffered massive power creep with the introduction of Japanese heavies.
But comparing to the overall performance, the e100 falls flat especially that godawful 15cm compared to the 14cm gun. You don't have to fling gold rounds in the 14cm.

Have to agree with QB about the afk guys. The best feeling you get from this game is carrying hard, in stressful situations. So when there is an AFK player it becomes a little bit of a letdown.
The M46 is amazing aswell quicky, have you tried it recently? i pull an average of 3k damage and i am not even close to being as good as you are.
and maybe it's a bit cheap of me but i love AFK's...as long as they are on the enemy team. free damage is free damage.
This is the reason why I don't go to tier 10's any more. I pick vehicles that: "Handles their top tier opposition" and play during pique hours for the best matchmaking chances. The fact they have to buff a tank at all after people sometimes flushing 4,000 games down the drain to get it to find it's not what they wanted. Being nerfed, power creep buffs to other tanks and overly basic hidden problems like ammo rack+driverdead+engine damage in a single track wheel hit (all T110's suffer this, all often in one hit). So screw touching top tiers, if the mid tiers are screwed then I spent less than 400 games getting there and hopefully found a diamond along the way. Marder's/Hellcat/Tier 3 Czech/tier 5 and below 105HE tanks/Tier 2 japanese medium with HE and so on are nice. All easily reached.
But I love my STB-1 I don't want the M48 to make it into a 140 vs 430 situation
+Andre Lopez 430 is worse in every stat compared to 140, but DPM (and not by much).
It's not the same thing between M48 and STB, cause the latter has much more speed, more agility, much better camo, more gun depression, better turret, smaller silhouette, and less reload time.

Just looking at the replay and I see the same reason most UNICOM's have the high stats....everyone of them uses gold rounds almost exclusively during even random battles. I would love to see a run of UNICOM battles were they DONT use gold rounds and see if their stats will be anywhere as good

Maybe you just didn't know that APCR is standard on most tier 10 mediums.
Yes, four round that equals over 1000 points of damage that he WOULDN'T have been able to do. Gold rounds directly negate the effect of armor, reducing it's overall value. My point still stands....I want to see these UNICOMs keep their status when they can't just pump out over 1000+ damage by using gold rounds.

I've gotten 8 Scout medals in this thing xD I used to sit on the middle of Ruinberg with binos and optics and spotting everyone at the start of the match :D Although I stopped doing it though after the WT E-100 was added :/

Poor thing it was nerfed though back in 2012.. I remember. Does anybody remember poor KV? WG nerfed it so much it doesn't exist anymore. Well, it exists in 3 separate tanks now.

You're completely right with the AFK players. When i'm playing an awesome game i just refuse to shoot AFKers because i just dont feel like i earned the DMG.... for me havig my best damage done on AFKers just isn't right.... ;)
While I understand what you are saying about the medals being tarnished by afkers, I still wouldn't take that away from any one as I would bet that more than 90% of all those top medals are due to "stars aligning", including having an afker or two on a team.
Please ,as it is now ,if we dont look at the T22sr ,the M48 is the most reliable tank in the game. Gun feels much better than the E50M's gun ,and please .. raw power of the STB? I'm certain that with the STB you will miss /bounce /fail to pen 1 out of 3 shots while with the M48 you have higher chances of penetrating all the shots. In my config the M48 reloads 0.28s slower than the STB and the gun is more reliable.
Off topic but: has QB done a video comparing all T10 Russian mediums in one video? I've seen the one comparing the T62A and Obj 140. A link (if that video even exists would be awesome). If not: QB, you know what to do lol

The worst part is that im actually quite a good player, as on the tablet version (even though its easier, with worse players) i got a 57% win rate and 2200+ wn8
With my crap pc, i used to play this game in 2012 but had no idea what i was doing so i quit after a few weeks. It had 45% win rate and 250 wn8.
In June this year i got back to playing wot, im still playing on my really bad old account but managed to improve it to 50% wr and ~600 wn8, but with such a bad pc its not going well
And with a bad account, the idiotic elitists all treat me as if im not a good player, and i cant even carry games when im playing with such bad fps.
