Is it useful for measuring under sunlight?

It’s tough. You need to see where and what the laser is so you get an accurate measurement. Bosch does make an outdoor model with a view screen.

Nope, dewalt has a small one, hilti has a very nice and expensive one, and there are lots of other cheaper brands out there as well. But in my opinion this one is the best
