My dad raised me and my brothers on a small dairy like yours. We farmed about 640 acres and milked 145 cows. I am proud of you for what you do with your children. I wish every dad would involve their children like you do. Believe it would be a better world. Keep it up. You are a special dad and i am proud to support your channel. Please keep it up. Thanks for taking me along.
Taking Me Back To When I Hired Out As A Farm Helper Around My Home Started Working On My Step Grandfather's Farm At 8yrs and Worked On Neighbors Farms Toll 18 Shoveling Manure Like You Were Showing Us Every Morning Before School Pitching Silage On Small Farms You Don't Realize How Wonderful A Job It Is Until You Don't Have To Do It Any Longer Brings Back Fond Memories Thanks For Sharing This With Us Blessings And Please Be Safe ✌️
Forget the haters! My grandpa taught me to drive skidsteer on an m500 bobcat open station. I didn't get hurt or die. Alot of it comes down to common sense.
I did my share shoveling manure back in the day. Heifer barn and chicken house 2 floors. Only a farmer would know the joy you feel when you see the floor from the last corner.🤓🐄
I can’t believe you survived the old gehl and then spread manure with the cab-less/rop-less farm all you should play the lottery, lol keep the videos coming.
Thanks for the video Alan. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch. Looks like you got the tractor running good and like you said needs some fluid in the tires and temp gage and a few other things. Seems to run good for you. Like the little skid steer you have for use in the barn. Great to see your son helping out in the barn. Your dairy operation keeps you busy. Saw your cows in the pasture and they all are looking good. Thanks Alan. You are doing good. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
The only function that the old cab served on that skidloader was aggravation. A friend of mine recommended running some automatic transmission fluid in my field to keep things in my fuel system clean and lubed. It may help your Governor issues. It might smoke a little, but it's old enough to smoke. I enjoy watching your videos, and seeing g how you and you family interact with eachother, and your cattle. There seems to be a lot of love on that farm. One of God's many blessings.
Hey Alan, great to see the kids pitching in with all the chores. Brings back a lot of great memories for me on my Grandparent's farm. My grandad had a stanchion barn down the road a bit where he kept his older heifers. Had a gutter but no barn kleener. It had a low ceiling too. He would back his manure spreader in the barn and I would help him shovel manure into the spreader the same way you and Jordan were doing it, one on each side. Thanks for the video
I know what your saying about the safety thing that bothers some people. Not everything can be bubble wrapped. I drove tractor for many hours as a farm boy that were open station, no ROPS . Granted we are in flat land country, but you had to just stay away from the ditch banks for the most part. The narrow fronts are more dangerous. I had a relative of mine that was killed driving straight thru a shallow ditch with a narrow front. The front end went up and just kept coming. I think that happened before my time. There are things like that in every walk of life. Another great video! God Bless you and your family!
Before changing the temp gauge, put the temp probe in a pot of boiling water and see if it reads! Our international 966 and 1466 won’t build much temperature on the gauge either unless they are working really hard near wide open throttle
I gotta say you have some really nice condition cows with nice bags…. The way to a successful farm are how your cows are taken care of and your doing an outstanding job. Hope you can get your manure line solved soon🙏🏻❤️
Alan I don’t know anything about the availability in your area but a Vactor or Hydrojet sewer cleaner would make short work of clearing that line. During my career I saw a lot of very plugged sewers that were easily defeated by this equipment. Just an idea. The cows look very happy as usual.
I spent some time on a B when I was a young man , great memories . If that loader wasn’t on there you wouldn’t have any traction problems . Great video , God Bless
TD, I like your farm it's so beautiful with your family working together. The cows are so curious and cool .Do they always go into the same stall? Maybe split a red pool noodle and put over that pipe that crosses the barn entry to save your head. Keep up the good work, Boe
Yes, cows always go to the same stall. They are creatures of habit, and once they have a "home", they go back to it every milking, and even after being dry 60 days, they will go to the same stall.
The most important piece of safety equipment is the OPERATOR! That goes from a kitchen knife to the biggest machine. You know that you don't have a "cage" or ROPS on your equipment, and you operate it safely, and I think you know to instruct your children how to operate it safely. Non farmers don't seem to get that. Keep the videos coming!
Always liked it in the fall, when you let the cows in for night milking. When you get to the barn, the stable is cold. You open the door, and the cows are all excited and eager to come in, and get their feed. The stable soon warms up, and every thing just feels right with the world.
I grew up when you didn't have to wear a safety helmet to ride a bicycle. That barn cleaner you have there is what we used to call the Armstrong brand of barn cleaner.😊
Make sure someone didn't pull the thermostat out, and if you load those tires, use beet juice. You prolly all ready know about the beet juice. Cows look happy and healthy as always. Be safe bud!
❤😊MY UNCLE CLEANED HIS BARN THE OLD FASHIONED WAY FOR 35+ YEAR'S HE JUST BACKED THE SPREADER IN AND PITCHED IT FULL !!! 8N FORD DID THE SPREADING ❤ UNCLE IS GONE NOW 8N 😊 IS STILL AT THE FARM ❤😊
Weight in those rear tires or not, you might need to add some of that nice green paint on that tractor to pull those discs😂 just kidding . And ill second that hydrojet for the manure pipe .
i would add a bunch of ih wheel weights no rim rust good seeing ih806 going at it you got a buy on it i have one of those jd disc used it mercilialso souly i dont like there brg set up but oh well you all hav wonderful family also the ol b is still at it
LOL my nearly 64 years of life it took me longer than 50 years to learn that the dangerous end is not the one that goes in the ditch. Is the other end with the long handle. Those things make an old man out of you fast bad knees bad back bad shoulders. Lol. I can't blame anybody else but myself, I wanted to do it
Like I always say our little 630 Case and the spreader justs fits in the barn straight through one door and out the other.😂 Oh my Alan you could be beheaded with that skid steer.....😮😂 Not really, I'm just kidding when you know what you're doing it's all good.
Hey just wondering if you have ever thought about taking the wall out in the barn that seperats the old barn from the newer addition it would be nice to have it all wide open ❤
Two questions first those grain bins you have in the back ground are you going to put your shelled corn in. Plus the tractor you have in the garage you showed the other day are you planning on getting it running and using it on the farm. As far as the bobcat without the roll over on it I used to work at a grain elevator fertilizer company and our bobcat never had one and ohsha never said a word that was in the.80's so I am sure it is different now but I loaded a lot of fertilizer and corn with that thing never had a problem
Most of the 4000 series I worked with had cages. Some customers would want to remove it because of height issues. We recommended that they keep side screens for safety.
I agree the tractor bogged down to much without little to no smoke so to me seeing and hearing the tractor I think it's not getting enough fuel just seemed to Peter out to soon for the longest time we used a Oliver 1655 pulling 2 12ft disc and didn't struggle as much as your 806
Gee, just like I had to do back in the 50s, with a shovel and a wheelbarrel. (That is until a cow kicked when cleaning out the trench behind her. Dad never had me clean out the trench again.)
Seems like a lot of disc for the 806?? I thought it looked like it was light in the front end, maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't think it would be with that loader on
Your a very smart guy Alan but just wondering why you don't go at a little bit off an angle to cut those stalks and rootballs a little more? I say this politely because in some off my other comments I get accused as a know it all and things but it's just a question!! 😊 By the way hope you don't rollover the old B while your spreading! Lol
no rops on the old farmal either!! how could you vour rite alan they worry about the dumbest things people have more common sence than they get credit for good looking animals
Dangerous? Give me a break. Those who comment about the safety aspect are living in a glass bubble. There so many things out there that can hurt you so you could make yourself crazy or paranoid worrying about all of them except something like what happened to Andy Detailed and he was 3 or 4 years old when that happened.
I have the same JD BWA, and used it for primary tillage with wings up until I got an offset disk. Only problem was the extra wear on the main gangs, and the wings didn't get the same wear.

It's great growing up on a farm. Gives kids the values they need to learn about family and tradition.
Love watching the kids do their chores! They sure are hard working children! Great video!
I like your little gel skid steer...one thing about farming you do the best with what you've got!!
Those full corn cribs sure look good in the background. Great video.
Yeah, they're neat to look at.
We had 10 cribs. Knew them well when we shelled them ha
Forget the haters! My grandpa taught me to drive skidsteer on an m500 bobcat open station. I didn't get hurt or die. Alot of it comes down to common sense.
Jordan you are becoming an impressive young man!!!

Nice sounding 806! Ron

ALWAYS glad to watch your videos.
Very nice job and God bless y'all
I sure do seeing those corn cribs full, warms my heart. Keeping farming simple.
Beautiful cows

Love seeing the cows and equipment here in southern ohio there’s no dairy pickup anymore stay strong and god bless
Good stuff guys.
👀🙄🐾👍Great video Alan Jennifer and the kid's you should be proud of your children they are all worker's
This brings back memories. Thanks

Nice clean barn and nice whitewash job !
TD,

Maybe split a red pool noodle and put over that pipe that crosses the barn entry to save your head. Keep up the good work, Boe
Yes, they learn their stalls pretty quick.
Yes, cows always go to the same stall. They are creatures of habit, and once they have a "home", they go back to it every milking, and even after being dry 60 days, they will go to the same stall.
Running pretty well a little love and care is all she needs.
Awesome new scribble here I didn't know u had a milk cows love the videos thanks for sharing 👌 👍 😀

No round bales
awesome video as always, maybe a set of duals would come in handy too for tillage work with that IH in the future
I remember our chain breaking and needing a new one. Same clean out procedure. Shovels and skid loader
I love when you run that ole skidloader . You know what all those yuppies that comment just block them
I grew up when you didn't have to wear a safety helmet to ride a bicycle. That barn cleaner you have there is what we used to call the Armstrong brand of barn cleaner.😊
Looks like children got barn work 😅 awesome
Need to get that pipe unplugged 😊
Thanks for sharing, you might have to turn the magic screw in the injection pump some.
Nice video
Looks like the rear tires are pumped up rock hard, drop the pressure to 15 psi and you’ll be amazed how much better she pulls.
Make sure someone didn't pull the thermostat out, and if you load those tires, use beet juice. You prolly all ready know about the beet juice. Cows look happy and healthy as always. Be safe bud!

❤😊 THE 806 SHOULD PULL THE 550 PLOW ❤😊
I cleaned a lot of drops by hand with a wheel borrow and up a plank to the spreader lot of work but lived thru it
Weight in those rear tires or not, you might need to add some of that nice green paint on that tractor to pull those discs😂 just kidding . And ill second that hydrojet for the manure pipe .
Hi trinity dairy from Indiana
Good luck deer hunting this weekend.
And to think so many people will pay good money to workout, but won't pick up a shovel 🤷♂️🤣🤣. Glad you survived the ol gehl 👍🤣🤣
We had a bobcat that didn’t have a cage on it and it is still in use I agree a lot of other things that are way more dangerous than that!
We just want you to be okay is all brother.
It’s amazing how they know their respective stall…
You have a motorized wheelbarrow, not a skid steer. No more danger! Ha! Ha! God Bless.
That's a good one!
i would add a bunch of ih wheel weights no rim rust good seeing ih806 going at it you got a buy on it i have one of those jd disc used it mercilialso souly i dont like there brg set up but oh well you all hav wonderful family also the ol b is still at it
I find it funny to read comments from people who have no clue which end of the shovel is the dangerous end.

Please and thank you goes a long way…
By golly allen, that's a pretty doggone solid little bn, to handle spreader that size
Hey just wondering if you have ever thought about taking the wall out in the barn that seperats the old barn from the newer addition it would be nice to have it all wide open ❤
I have, but I've seen other barns around here, that did that, and it really weakened them.
She definitely needs a set of duals you've got all kinds of power
Two questions first those grain bins you have in the back ground are you going to put your shelled corn in. Yes, that tractor will be getting used, just waiting for the heads and injectors to get done, then it can start going back together.
Tell the hall monitors to go play in the traffic at rush hour
Oh My Gosh, no roll over protection, Oh the humanity of it. I hope you can live with yourself! LOL
MOST of them old 4000 series never had a cage . no big deal until piliticians got involve "for your safety"
Most of the 4000 series I worked with had cages. Some customers would want to remove it because of height issues. We recommended that they keep side screens for safety.
OSHA: Occupational 💩 Happens Anyway
I agree the tractor bogged down to much without little to no smoke so to me seeing and hearing the tractor I think it's not getting enough fuel just seemed to Peter out to soon for the longest time we used a Oliver 1655 pulling 2 12ft disc and didn't struggle as much as your 806

Seems like a lot of disc for the 806?? I thought it looked like it was light in the front end, maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't think it would be with that loader on
It is plenty of disc, but it was mainly just something to work it, it wasn't light in the front, probably just looked that way.
Looks like there is a lot of Slop in the front axle, you may have a bad bushing , probably from the loader being on it .
Oh, I forgot "Ahh, the smell of money!"
Dam supervisors 😂😂
Looks like you have some front pivot bushing play in the front axle of the 806.
Yeah
If I remember right the 806 was a competitor to the JD 4020, about 90 hp each........neither were sold turbo-charged. Ron
Yeah, that's right.
Oh, about closing the fence....did I see the brown Swiss was in the lead😂
Yup, you know it's going to be a Swiss ring leader.
Personally, I like the convenience of that 4400. Who wants to wheelbarrow the manure out of the barn.
Allen use windshield washer fluid. Cheaper for weight.
I would love to milk again
Will the GEHL drive out if you happen to fall into the concrete ditch?
I'm not sure
When that happened to us we put hay bales behind tires and drove up on them and then out
Farming dangerous at anytime on the farm lol
Did you white wash this year?
It was whitewashed the end of September.
Lol
I guess we've always done the primary tillage with the rows, because it was a smoother ride, then we would angle the finishing tillage.
I agree with both of y'all. Tilling on a bias seems to do better, but it's a rougher ride. 👍👍
Do not sell the loader on your case 830 when you sell the 830 case. It’s really handy to have at least two loaders on tractors.
I still have the 530 with the loader.
Called making do with what you got.
Cows by nature are very nosy 😂😂😂😂
The steering system is a little loose cause the front wheels moved back and forth a little.
Yeah I is
You have alot of play in steering ,it seems
Think it had the hp. Duals for traction 😂
If a guy has the loader off that 806 would pull it no problem
no rops on the old farmal either!! how could you vour rite alan they worry about the dumbest things people have more common sence than they get credit for good looking animals
👍👌❤🇨🇦
First
lots of ignorant people

Your spreader isn't spreading, it's oozing! That can't be good for the grass covered in dollops of poo!
It's never hurt the grass before.
A little rain will wash it off. It's mostly water to start with if it oozes.
Thats a lot of pooooooooopooooooo.
Why not an electric paddle barn cleaner
We pulled the paddles out, because it's plugged.
That 806 will have no problem with that disk. My grandfather had the same one even with the wings down.
I have the same JD BWA, and used it for primary tillage with wings up until I got an offset disk. Only problem was the extra wear on the main gangs, and the wings didn't get the same wear.
Need a set of duals for that 806 now for doing tillage
Put weights on the back
