"Bomb plant is usually a throw" This is the one lesson that's been so hard for me to teach others. A lot of people are coming from Valorant and CS, where if you're on site, you own that site and whatever LOS you have because of how TTK works. I see so many players rush the bomb plant on this map for Long A _while there is still people in heaven and literally on site_, and then have the entire team stack long A. This is exactly how you'd play it in Valorant and CS. It doesn't matter if the enemy is on site because you can one tap them. And as long as you have LOS on the bomb you are a threat. Not in this game. 99/100 times that round is lost because they just collapse on the team and everyone dies. 8/10 times the bomb doesn't even go down. Something I've come to notice (and something you've been hinting on in your reviews) is that the macro in this game is much closer to League/MOBAs than it is any other tactical shooter. What do you do if you want to take Baron? You can't just be in Baron pit. You have to clear the river, clear top tri bush, top river bush, and have full information in enemy top jungle. You also have to confirm the enemy is far away enough to give you time to whittle the baron health down so you can actually secure it. You can't keep them off you forever, but the more space you have the more opportunities for your support or whatever to keep them out of river and out of pit so your team can stay safe. If you have none of this space and all 5 members have tunnel vision in the pit, then you just straight up die. It's the same with this game. To take A in Space Lab, it's not just being on site. It's holding long, clearing heaven, and either owning the connector between Spawn and A or securing the choke into A. It's inevitable that the defenders will get on site, what's important is making it take as long as possible to do so and that your team isn't going to fold completely when someone is taking 5 seconds to plant a bomb, in a game where numbers is king. (The reverse mistakes also happen with people playing defusal like it is Valorant/CS. Just sitting on bomb waiting for peeks, when in reality most the time you just want to be full inting onto the attackers position). Most importantly, as you said at the end of the review, you probably shouldn't even plant once you actually get that much space and you have the advantage in a fight. I'm only Masters on CN and even I make bad bomb judgements and throw the game sometimes with a bad plant - but on global rn with everyone coming in from other games, a bad plant is basically guaranteed to happen every game if I dont take the bomb in my own hands. And holy shit the solo plants on the other side of the map. Classic Valorant/CS play. There's a time and place for it, but global players definitely don't have the game knowledge to make that judgement. And yet it happens all the time. You've been pretty good on educating the importance of space and information in these reviews - it'll be really awesome to see a dedicated education piece on what space actually is and why you need to take it. (Hopefully this doesnt double post. I think my net cutout when I tried to post this the first time)
I start at first by planting the bomb as a priority too, but then try to go for kill more after learning more about the game. I think the difference is that in Valorant everything is slow and utility has limits. 1. The attacker sets the trap for the flank watch and then enters the site. 2. Defender use their util to stall and wait for their teammates to rotate. 3. Then the Attacker rotates to another site. 4. The attacker plants the bomb as the defender takes more time before making sure the attacker actually leaves. 5. Defender have less util as they use most of it to stall the entry. While in Strinova all of the util except Fragrans is based on cooldown and not the amount. So if Defender already uses it for stall they just use it again in another site, and the distance is quite short than Attacker for rotate, and in Strinova doesn't always need to stay in a specific spot to a been advantage, just stick and play together already an advantage. While in Valorant you need to make sure are they really gone, because once Defender leaves the advantage spot they can't just stick and play together like Strinova if the Attacker comes and re-entry same site, because everyone still can get 1 tap, so stick together doesn't always work in Valorant. And also like in the video said. The attacker uses their util to enter the site to plant the bomb, which means Defenders need to rush in right now before their cooldown reset again. That made rushing the bomb site and planting without any kills very tough, I got a tough lesson for that for try rush B site in Cauchy Street, I mean we successfully planted the bomb but we got surrounded from everywhere🤣
Hey Mr Kierce, you said Fragrans should only use the speed boost and never fire rate at 34:27 does that apply to every situation even when holding down bomb site where the team is moving a lot less and mostly fighting?
This is due to the numbers crunch by the CN folk, the fire rate buff does not provide any significant interaction changes in fights to warrant using it, the move speed does if the team understands what it does.
i know u said playing for bomb is normally throwing, but how bad throwing it is? cause i main meredith and love to carry bomb rush with team plant with smoke before the defence retakes (assuming there is not a fuchsia breathing on my face), stall the enemy retake with my team and if my team is down quickl, use wind nade on the bomb and be a annoying bastard with all the sand to let the bomb explode, is that bad?
yeah I always play my celes like a wingman with my tank, and be a tank when my tank is not around or dead because i'm the one who have the most temp armor for sure, the worst case scenario i can even to a quick ult cancel
I kinda understand everyone have their own plans on how they fight, but sometimes you just have to help, willing to takes fight at least give some crossfire,if you can do a proper gunfight and hold, then you don't have to do those sneaky things every round
