When So Fine was released they called it a disappointment and never talked about the band again. I liked that album very much too but I kinda felt the genre swapping was a bit forced. There is way too many Symphonic Power Metal bands out there, and I don't like anything they do either. As far as that style goes, David Le Freis and Friends are better than most, but I don't like the direction that Virgin Steele took after Jack Star left. Oddly enough I don't like the Jack Star solo direction either. I do however like Original Sin with David's sister, the Exorcist project with David, and both Phantom Lord albums with Jack Star is great. I loved endorama, lol. I thought it refreshing to hear different ( more mature? ) Kreator. Only a couple songs kinda sound like my dying bride. I agree with Pete 99% of time, love sea of tranquility. As I never spent much time with Endorama, I find myself loving this album in 2024. Kreator held back a touch, more in control. I don't mind more polished at all, if songs are good. Most of these songs sound really good to me. Peace!

I listened to them all a couple of years ago, as well as all of the ones from Sodom, Destruction, and Tankard. I definitely will not be doing a thorough ranking right now - as I haven't spent a whole lot of time with most of them yet.
I do agree that most of their '90s albums are not up to the par, but this is typical of many thrash bands all over the world. Most of them had badass music earlier in their careers, as well as more recently - with their mid- period stuff (late '90s/early 2000s) being mediocre.
I really dig their first four albums, as well as everything they've done in the 21st Century so far. I actually own their last two, Gods of Violence and Hate Uber Alles. My favorite, though, is actually their 1990 album Coma of Souls!

Lesgoo, that's what we've been waiting for! This band is special to me (maybe even in my top 5) and they're one of the few thrash bands that revamped their style and still put out classics!
    My list:
    15) Renewal.
I can't stand it, have never been able to sit through more than a few songs. Mille's vocals are awful, production's annoying.
    14) Cause for Conflict.
Only slightly better, but still not worth anyone's time.
    13) Endorama
Again, interchangable. Even with all the whispers & vocal nonsense, it's more passable to me.
    12) Outcast
Well, Phobia is a live staple (pretty solid for only 3 riffs), some other industrial stuff here, almost Rammstein-esque. It's just there.
    11) Hate Uber Alles
Their worst album in decades. Production is super uneven, choruses lazily dumbed down. I love the title track, but that's it (Demonic Future & Killer of Jesus are OK).
    10) Terrible Certainty
From here on I think these are good albums. If they re-recorded this one with modern production, I'd place it higher. Behind the Mirror, title track are great. All songs sound a bit... Clunky.
    9) Hordes of Chaos
The title track is a classic. Like Demon Prince, War Curse, other stuff is just meh, but still a decent album. Has a "live sound" to it, like Maiden's Final Frontier.
    8) Enemy of God
Violent Revolution 2.0 with some better songs, but less consistency. Highlights: Title track, Suicide Terrorist, Impossible Brutality, Under a Blackened Sky.
    7) Violent Revolution
I think they did better albums in this style, but it's a strong album. Reconquering the Throne, title track, Ghetto War, All of the Same Blood, Second Awakening, System Decay are great!
    6) Extreme Aggression
I actually don't care for half of the songs here, but the rest is fantastic! Title track, Betrayer, Fatal Energy... Great production, drumming , some stone cold classics, but some albums are even better!
    5) Endless Pain
Banger fun, even if some songs aren't that memorable or strong, I'd still spin this whole album. Flag of Hate is my favorite Kreator song. Ventor vocals are fun, Mille sounds black metal here!
    4) Coma of Souls
This one I keep revisiting, because even the less known tracks are great! The 1st half virtually perfect, 2nd half has Agents of Brutality & Material World Paranoia, so still killer!
    3) Pleasure to Kill
Their most memorable record, I just don't feel the need to re-listen to it. The production is so cool, feels like Ventor is playing with skeleton bones instead of drumsticks! Album cover is perfect!
    2) Gods of Violence
Yes, I actually prefer this to Pleasure to Kill now, it's just more fun to revisit, has more variety, memorable solos, great hooks (albeit simple). And it got me into Kreator.
    1) Phantom Antichrist
Bonus track version is a must with Wolfchild & Iron Destiny! I just love pretty much every song here. YOUR HEAVEN... MY HELL!!!

    4. Terrible Certainty ( Behind the Mirror )
    5. Coma of Souls ( Terror Zone)
    6. Extreme Agression ( Some Pain Will Last)

Kreator is one of my favourite thrash metal bands, they have a very consistant catalogue which I usually divide into 3 parts: the classic thrash period 85-90, the experimental period 91-99, and the modern period 2000-present day. I prefer the most recent era because their music has become more complex and has more melody. The early albums are fine but too extreme for me, except Coma of Souls which is great and more accessible. The 90's era is just horrible, I don't even rank those albums. And the last one from 2022 I haven't heard yet. So here's my list:

Those albums like Renewal and Cause for Conflict and Endromada did nothing for me though Outcast had Phobia so it’s good for that one song at least. The 85-90 era was top notch and as far as the “comeback” period goes I really liked Violent Revolution but everything after was just okay or in the case of their past few sounded a bit too Gothenburg for me. Protector (also from Germany) keeps getting better but Kreator is sounding more like Arch Enemy which I’m not too fond of.

Seems to me they adopted some of the tropes of power metal on later albums with the “epic” chorus’s. Not digging that vibe at all. The vocals are a big turn off nowadays. I miss that aggressive screeching he used to be the master of. I agree that some of the middle period albums are a bit wonky sounding although I really enjoy Renewal for the bleak atmosphere. Surprisingly I really loved Endorama. I f’n love the riffing on Shadowland. I’ve always been a huge fan of Coroner so Tommy joining was a big deal to me but it seems the wasted his talent. There is a new wave vibe I have a soft spot for. Surely not a popular opinion but it is what it is. The cream of the crop for me is Terrible Certainty, Extreme Aggression and Coma of Souls.
