My problem is that the mechs went up and price and down in quality. The first waves of marvel mechs were great. $10, posable knees and elbows. Then in the newest wave, they bumped them up to $15, AND started using new pieces that removed the knee and elbow articulation, as well as making the torso one solid piece, bringing the overall parts count of the set down. So at this point, you're paying more and getting less compared to the earlier mechs.
Tbh, I like the stormtrooper mech because it actually looks like something that actually could be made in star wars, though some areas I will say couldve looked less like a overscaled minifig part like thr gun lol
@@PillocksAnimationCentre I actually made one! If you want a breakdown here it is: -Black Ep 3 Anakin hair -Clay's face from Nexo Knights -Owen's vest from Jurrasic World with brown arms and yellow hands (paint the inner shirt part white with a paint marker) -blue hips with belt printing -blue legs. Enjoy!
If a kid sees those mechs, they will want one. That is the market for them. How "horrible" they are for simplifying the design and making them much friendlier to build and less likely to break during play. I personally want the Thanos one just to have a mech with the infinity gauntlet as a silly desk piece.
Have never understood why a AMP SUIT Mech from "Avatar" wasn't made? I know there's one in one of the sets but they could have sold it separately and added something else to the set.
Also you forgot to add that the Boba Fett has freaking arm printing I can legit feel those cryin over the fact that people probably sold their kidneys to buy a similar fig only to realize its coming in this cheap set
when the new lego star wars game came out a while back prices for arm printed bobas spiked from 100 something to 2000 something online for some insane reason scalpers really got ballsy there and people somehow got stupid and actually paid that much in some cases to try and price them even higher. Really hate "value speculators" situation infesting every hobby ever these days.
The darth vader mech is the worst one! The figure is already found in other sets and the mech is boing as hell. It could benefit from a cape or at that scale an actually glowing lightsaber. The boba fett one is the best in my opinion, giving us a new boba fett figure with arm printing and a colorful mech in contrast to the all black of Vader’s. The bull on the stormtrooper mech is appealing to me personally and I appreciate how the design looks like the actual storm trooper suit. It’s like we’re getting some sort of crazy beefed up storm trooper. Looks like a creation from the Star Wars comics lol. Overall I think this is getting to much hate. These sets are clearly for kids and not adult collectors. It’s a toy company guys. You have to remember that!
I don't want them back if they're going to be System. If I wanted to buy System, I would be buying System. Technic or CCBS only, and I won't accept substitutes.
@BrickHouse ah, well I mean you could probably just buy all 3 of the figures off bricklink for a quarter of what one of these sets cost. And the stormtrooper, as far as I can tell it's just a generic stormtrooper so probably not even worth getting that one.
Honestly. Could turn the Storm Trooper fig into a really cool Legends Dark Trooper. The OG Dark Troopers and their third generation had the ability to switch between Droid and Exo-Armor mode. Yeah. Scaling will be off. But who doesn't like a big, buff, Stormtrooper stomping on some Rebels. Lol.
Let’s be real, the only reason people get these Mech suits (apart from the rare occasion, where it actually looks kind of cool) is for the minifigs. In the case of Star Wars, I feel like it would be cheaper just to get the key chain and remove the metal bit. Especially with Boba Fett since you can always cover up the little bit of metal left behind with more gunmetal weathering to make it look like a battle scar on the helmet.
massive shame though thaat every time they make more of these things, they remove articulation. the first few were fully posable and it was awesome. then they got rid of knees and elbows. now they've removed the waist articulation. i guess they just don't want people to have fun with these
Adding these mechs to existing licenses feel kinda strange for me. Not because they’re not interesting or the lack of posability(please Lego just use hinges and other techniques that so many mech builders do please!) but they often don’t fit with the lines as they’re often just there for another addition. They should just make a new line similar to Exo-force for these things, although it probably would be too much to ask.
