Awesome video for sure. I have that gun and settled on a trulock 515 choke. It shoots so many loads so well it was hard to pick one. I settled on the salt creek loads but it was a close race between viper 8.5x9.5 and the verdict 9.
In my house we are running nothing but 28's now. I was a 410 shooter the last 8yrs. My gf stayed with a 12. I use to build guns for buddies and had a blast doing it. From yrs experience the 28 has always produced the best lead patterns. Well I bought my gf a moss/sa28 running a 515 patternmaster and verdict ammo. With 2 misses in 2 yrs I have convinced her get rid of that factory bead. She still tags out. Lol Now I took my moss/sa28 field version and converted it. I'm running a ff3 sight same ammo and choke. I think I've built the most forgiving turkey gun for youth and adults. And now my favorite. I been at this since I was 12 now I'm 46. From sporting clays to turkey hunting the 28 isn't going nowhere anytime soon. If built right a 410 is the least forgiving turkey gun out there. I use to paper tune 350 shots/yr with 12s. 200 shoots with 20s. These small bores is a breath of fresh air.
I'm not bashing Apex. But me and a fella talked on the phone from Apex and I was looking for advice and what I was doing wrong with 3 different 410s I was building. Trying to get their ammo to run decent in those guns. I had 3 other least favorite loads out preforming it. I was told to clean between shots, I did with no improvements. Then I was told I was the only one with this issue in a VERY demeaning way. I give thanks to that fella because he made me shop elsewhere. Now I'm more than satisfied with my builds.
@@ReviewThisThingi was a big fan of Hevi13 back in the day when they had buffered loads. After quality went down hill I jumped to the small bores. And haven't shot a 12ga turkey load since. The last 4 turkeys I've tagged in ky the combined yardage hasn't exceeded 55yrds. Its been yrs since I've shot one over 35yrds. A good old tight lipped bird gets me pumped. Slides in on ya looking. There is no better feeling than being caught off guard and saying "how can I make this happen". Nothing against those loud mouth 2yo birds they make you feel good too.
I just got my SA28 in this week and a quick trip to the Range Saturday and to say I’m extremely excited is an understatement. I was disappointed with the TruLock Choke and as of now I’m going with the PatternMaster CB Turkey 515 and Viper #9’s. What have yall experienced to be the best Choke / Load combination yall have tested ?
Top 6 in terms of most pellets in a 10" circle (all over 350): Jebs XXFull w/FoxTrot 9.5 Kicks Gobblin Thunder w/Rogue 9.5 Indian Creek .520 w/Apex Green Leaf 9/10 blend Kicks Gobblin Thunder w/Apex Green Leaf 9/10 blend Indian Creek .520 w/Rogue 9.5 Trulock 3-step .515 w/Viper 9.5 Rectifire Diamond w/Rogue 9
That 28 really performs well. I have everything from 10 to 410, with the exception of the 28. I may have to fix that. Thanks for another enjoyable review, be well my friends, and God bless.
I have the same gun. Shooting the factory choke (520) that came with the gun, I am getting a similar pattern as you with the Rogue ammunition. Thank you for your time testing these loads.
9- 9.5 shot for turkeys? Seems a bit small. I mean thats a clay target shot size. Ive always thought 6 shot is the smallest you should use for large birds. Please explain the idea.
Absolutely-you are correct if you’re talking about lead shot. But these are TSS (tungsten) loads. Tungsten is denser than lead, so you can put a lot more smaller shot in a load without losing power or velocity. So…more pellets coming just as hard. They’re smaller, but there’s a lot of them. Does that help?
The giveaway has ended. Thanks for watching!

I got some of the Viper 8.5/9/5, so I'm pretty pumped to try it out.

It definitely sounds like Tube got out figured out. They are awesome!

@tigea9078 you definitely gotta go with what works. I hate to hear that, though.

@tigea9078 😁 both are fun for sure! I like the loud ones! They’re usually a little dumber 😆
The 28 guage may be the sweet spot for performance vs recoil, that gun hammers👍
Who won the gun?
Mike B. He has been notified and responded. Our other winners haven’t responded yet, so there’s still a chance for 2-3 prizes.
Do you prefer the 28 over the 20

Another great video! And Is there any chance y’all may test the Jebs, & Indian creek chokes in that gun?
There is, in fact, a 100% chance. 😁 Stay tuned! And thank you for watching!
You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for the research you do for all the hunters!
We really enjoy it! Thank you for watching!

It’s pretty dang sweet for sure
Great review!
Thank you!
can you try some apex Greenleaf in that 28 ga
Yes. Yes I can. Stay tuned!
Non ported chokes shoot better patterns!
We’ve seen great results out of both!
Thats a turkey dinner right there! 👍
You got that right!

Thank you for watching! It’s a great gun! Did you see this one? ruclips.net/video/GXuTJCzfYVc/видео.htmlsi=dFHbL_QgZ1fuWUC0
Thank you for the link. I shot the verdicts load too. It’s nice, the rogue seemed little more even for me.
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
