Really nice run :) I noticed when you got to the bottom, that there are lifts going up the other side. What is the skiing like up there? In terms of which camera provided better shots, I would say the Insta :) because it gets a wider angle and is not pointing down so much

Hi Motters, I would love to tell you but the resort is only operating some lifts at the moment. Thanks for your feedback on the camera's really appreciate it!

Loved skiing with you. Though I know little about skiing I think you are excellent.

Hi Alex, I need in your advice, because you have already used both Insta One R and GoPro Hero 9. If you remember I have Sony XDR3000 now. I plan to buy the second camera for the next season (hope resorts will be opened), but not both these cameras 🙁. There are many overviews in Internet, but I think that advice from a guy like me, who uses cameras for the same purposes, will be the most useful for me.
Could you please advice what camera would you choose "in my shoes"?

Hey Happy Skier, if you are looking to get one for next season I would wait until September time. GoPro will release their new camera by then Insta might have launched a new model I say this because ambarella is a chip manufacturer that has made a processor that could dramatically improve action cams I think it's unlikely to make it into this year's models but I think it's worth the wait to see. If you are desperate to get one asap I would get the Gopro hero 8, to be honest, the mic is better for wind noise and if you filming skiing you won't need the front-facing screen.

@@Alexskiing Thanks a lot, Alex! Good point. 👍 I'll think if I need it in summer and maybe I'll be wating for September.

Hey Luca, so you can ski but with lots of conditions like wearing ffp2 masks and getting tested every 48 hours!

Wouldn't a helmet-mounted cam be more stable regardless of anything else ? Even same camera mounted on the helmet would look "better" than chest-mounted ?

The Göprø footage is a tad bit overexposed. The Insta seems to have a very sharp image - maybe courtesy of the high quality lens - but definitely smaller dynamic range than the Gopro. I'd buy the gopro if I had to choose because dynamic range is just very very important.

Loved the video, I really miss going skiing, so watching these videos is a great alternative.
Also, just want to give you a hot tip. I'm not sure whether you have some sort of deal with Carv, or if you're just using this of your own accord, but it may be a good idea to mention this at the start of the video in the future. Even just saying that you are not sponsored by a brand you're featuring can be helpful, because the laws that govern that kind of thing are really strict. It's a case of better safe than sorry.
Love the vids, keep 'em coming!

Hey Paul, thanks for the comment, liking the videos and subscribing. I am not sponsored by CARV for transparency. They sent me a kit, as did Insta 360, both products I guess I am going to be naturally biased to as I love tech and skiing. I didn't mention getting free products because it wouldn’t affect my video or my finances if someone decides to buy the products. I get no commission from a purchase or fee for the video.
You would be surprised how many brands reach out even to a small RUclips channel and I only speak to the ones that I think have really cool products and would buy anyway.
I really like the CARV and get very few subscribers to views on my channel and I would like to improve that and at the moment I am using the CARV daily so if viewers like it then it gives me a reason to engage with the audience and follow my progress. In the same way I made a 30 minute video about Gopro I paid for that camera but if they offered me one pre-season I would have bitten their hand off but the video wouldn’t have changed. If my relationship changes with a brand or I enter into a deal I will definitely take your advice on board and make it clear. Thanks!

I’m always looking for an alternative to goPro, but every time it’s a disappointment.
The difference in the two cameras was clear, the GoPro wins again.

In austria you can ski if you live in Austria
