An Eala Bhan, Tom Sloss

Rowing to Rarinish on the east side of Benbecula. Music is Dòmhnall Ruadh Chorùna's "An Eala Bhan" sung by Tom Sloss. Written in the trenches of the Somme during the 1st World War, the contrast between his surroundings there and those he reminisced over back at home could hardly be more dramatic. He made it home, as it turned out, but not in time to win the heart of his "White Swan".
