The parts such as bumpers, side protectors, window bars and roll cages do make a big difference in how much damage you can take, but the more of that you add the more your acceleration is affected, great to add for a demo derby, best to leave off for a race.

Wreckfest with FailRace twice today - a good (Alex) day! Also: "The AI will probably be sensible" [AI coming into shot, driving the opposite way, directly aimed at Alex' car] @ 11:15. "ac" is "acres", I believe. "Area cubed" would probably be most nonsensial unit - but a rather fun one, come to think of it.
I think from what I can see the bulldog is more of a Volvo pv 544 or that body style than an American hotrod or just a hotrod in general, thought I’d just put that out there :)
The "Outer Loop" race can be done very sensibly if you designate a path (like half-lap on the inside, half-lap on the outside). Only the AI's stupidity makes crashes happen. Also, the Firefly is a SAAB 96 V4, probably a throwback to Bugbear's original racing game: Rally Trophy
Looks like the development has ramped up a lot for this game lately. Really want more of this in the future. This is the perfect game for failrace lol.
This is hilarious!!! The "player" you're taking out at around 9:47 is called "Aktive Sterbehilfe" which is German for "assisted dying"...what a coincidence...or is it?!? :D
I played Flatout 2 more then anything else back on the PS2, so when I saw the cars going the reverse way around crash alley, my brain actually did a loop in my head.
According to their post about it, those crash bars and such DO make an impact on your vehicles performance. Bigger/thicker/heavier bars will make your vehicle stronger, but slower.
I just Don't like how they have some of the damage set up, @ 6:10 on a car like that it has a live axel, the rear right tire should not be pushing in like that (like it has independent rear suspension), but yet you get blasted in the front the front tires do not move (like they're on a solid axel).
Would be awesome if they could put in like permanent car damage so like ya know eventually over time the car gets worse and worse both mechanically and aesthetic wise, then when it is done new car.

A little research took me to steam and a Bugbear page about the game. If I'm correct in what I've found what's being played are actually Beta roll outs of a game in development?

DDS029 Flatout 2 is also a great game to buy if you're looking for destructive races. Actually the creators of Wreckfes made the game and the Crash Canyon track is throwback to Death Alley in Flatout 2 and Flatout Ultimate Carnage.

Think damage on normal on that first race might be more interesting, head on crashes damages engines. Slows the cars down too much.

The only console I have is a PS2. I'm kind of drawn to the cross country type layout.
