Dear friends, this is the best recipe I could find for body lotion that is exactly like store bought lotion. Follow the recipe exactly and use emulsifying lotion (it is not very expensive and I have given the link for it in the description box). You can adjust the amount of glycerin to suit your skin type, I have dry skin. If you don't have vegetable glycerin, you can use regular glycerin too. If you have any doubts ask in the comment section.....

Hi ramya, why use phenoxyethanol as preservative? Why not germall plus? Germall plus is also a broad spectrum preservative. As safe preservative like geogard 221 is not available inside india. One more thing as it is chemical base formula, you should measure the ingredients in gms using digital scale. And use heat resistant glass beaker. Then your formulated cream or lotion would be perfect in texture.

This is extremely rare and oily remedy dear suggest some home made ones
It is not oily pratyusha, you will have the prefect light lotion with it, you can also adjust the vegetable glycerin to suit your skin type
I love your recipies but as a pharmacist and a cosmetic scientist, I must say, dono't use home made lotions or cream until you had checked the pH. The Ph should be acidic, between 4.5 to 5.5 or else on sensetive skin & long term usage it may cause hypersensitive reaction like rashes, patches, sentive towards sun as well as skin itritation. Moreover, the water phase and oil phase should be exactly at same temperature (70°C) when emulsified or else the cream/lotion will break (phase seperation)
Thank you for the comment. I regularly make my lotions and unless I use acidic ingredients I have not had any problems at all and regarding this lotion, both were at same temperature when I mixed so never had any problems with splitting......:)
And i think the PH of the product will depend on additives ingredients if there is active ingredient in the formula such as acids or brightener ingredients
