This scene is just another reason to love Daiki, I already knew he was amazing, 'cause well I saw him entering the zone , being a true freind and a talented player , but I didn't know he was at this level of Badass attitude, I remember perfectly that episode where Haizaki attacked Alex and (my) Tatsuya, I was like, this guy must receive a good punch in his dirty face , then Wow , I saw that. It was the moment when I really confirmed that Daiki was my soul mate.
I love how we were initially made to think that Aomine cared enough about his former teammate to hesitate when he was about to hurt him, but then we later realize he just didn't want to deal with a stoned guy on the pavement.

I always felt somewhat bad for Haizaki. During the Teiko arc, he wasn't that bad, he was a slacker, but not a criminal like he is now. Captain Nijimura always kept him in check, and when he left and Akashi took over, I feel everything went downhill for him. He had potential to be great, but Akashi didn't have the patience to see that, he only saw him as a weaker version of Kise. Nijimura at least cared, and saw some potential in him.
