The problem is that this feature is not available to everyone. It's so unfair that some channels get these opportunities and some don't (like us). It's limiting our growth and shows that RUclips is not a level playing field. MrBeast has had this feature for at least several months as well, (no hate to Jimmy ofc)

I have this feature and have been using it, but also maintaining one of the non-English channels as well. It’s a great feature and is very likely going to be the way going forward. For me at the time of typing this (Feb 2023) that separate channel simply reaches a different audience by age, gender, and geography, than when that same language is added onto a video published in English. Analytics for both channels show this, and this is the case even for new videos. Currently there is no way to tell analytics based on what audio track someone is listening to. The other aspect that creators will have to weigh at the moment is that burned in images (medical and scientific diagrams in my case) on video aren’t translated when a dubbed audio track is added to a video, as opposed to having a separate channel in a language where the video is dubbed and the images are translated too. Also, you cannot add separate audio dubs to videos edited in RUclips’s inline editor at this time. All of these likely will be addressed by RUclips, but the final thing that’s software independent is that translated content always has shorter average viewer retention in my experience
Hey there, thanks for your feedback! I currently don't have access to this feature but it's one I've been hoping for _for years._ I have a question though and hope you can answer it: How does adding a new language track work? Do the videos have to be prepared in a certain way before uploading or can you just upload an additional audio file of the same length to the video once it's uploaded (similar to how you'd add additional subtitles for example). Thanks in advance!
@@cenorexia you can add them under the Subtitles menu when you select a video in creator dashboard. Without the feature, you can add Subtitles and Translated Title and Description. With the feature, there's an option to upload a .wav or .mp3 sound file. you want to make sure that the timing of the audio file matches your video, and that brings another nuance to adding dubs in this way-- that the spoken word translation should match the timing of the original language. Some languages are more concise and others are more verbose, and so it make take shorter or longer to say the same thing in English.
This is a bad update for small RUclipsrs who don't have enough money to hire someone to audio track or editing the sound with voice sync Big RUclipsrs with same topics going to get all view now as they gonna spend money to professional voice over So rich r becoming more rich 😒
This is amazing! When will this be available to all creators? Also, how will the comments section work? I think it would be amazing if the comments section could be sectioned/filtered by language.
I had this a few years ago here on RUclips, until they YANKED Community Subtitles. It was beautiful. That's not the worst part. After they removed it for no reason, international viewers blamed ME for not doing subtitles in their language anymore. So, thanks again, RUclips!
Will the audio in a new language play by default in other countries where they speak that language, or the user will have to select it manually? My channel is in Spanish, so if I add English audio, will everyone in the United States hear it in English now? I'm concerned, because a lot of my USA based viewers prefer my original Spanish language.
WOW! What an *AWESOME* feature. I've always had my animated series and video subtitles available in 50+ languages, but didn't even know about this feature. I would love to know more about this ASAP! Great video 👍
I can't believe that this still is not availible for everyone. It was my very first thought, when I started RUclips. Can't be that hard to program different audio tracks in a video.
Undoubtedly a great update with the times. thanks, to youtube | RUclips should have done this earlier, then content creators would not have suffered so much. And the option to upload subtitles is a bit random. Those options need to be arranged in a nicer and simpler way. But how do we upload the audio truck??

Interesting stuff but I can already see it being hard to make it work as a single person, same with auto generated subtitles that need tons of fixing if you want to use them. But love to see it work in a easy to do way.
wow, this is very exciting news! I was just getting started to make another channel or Spanish but now I can keep it all in one house. What would be nice is if we could make multiple thumbnails for the same video and connect them to the language track.

Wait a second.. Will this feature be the one that just allows the creators to UPLOAD multi language audios? or will the youtube provide the Dubbing for the videos ?
RUclips will not auto dub audio tracks. Creators will have to record the dubbed audio track and then upload it to their video through Studio. However, check out our video on Area120's experimental dubbing feature here: ruclips.net/video/H2PPMtyWh98/видео.html. You can join the waitlist via the link in the description!

I just learned about this the second I started watching. This feedback is for me. I just want to make one video that my family can see. Because they care about what I am doing, but not if they are just following me. It's hard to be a leader when you have been a follower all of your life.
That's a very neat option I didn't know about. I basically watch French content (because I am native and my channel is about French poetry) and English content because I understand it well. I didn't imagine I could go for a japanese channel and listen to it in English dub. Amazing !
Very interesting! I've always thought about re-releasing my past series I've done but in Spanish since I am spanish myself, so I could dub all my old and new stuff!
I was thinking that this would be a great feature until I thought about it in depth. Have you all made plans for when tracks might get ad limited? I post audiobooks and what I've learned after hours of uploading chapters of my audiobook trying to figure out why my book is being limited, is that the bot is incredible inconsistent. When your video is being limited for non-obvious reasons, you will not get limited for one video and then limited for the same video with the slightest innocuous change. So, what happens when you're dealing with romance audiobooks in German or French? What happens when those non-obvious cases gets translated and the bot limits a language? Does it also limit the video in English? Does it limit just that language? Can you upload variations of that language until the RUclips gods decides that this one will not be limited? How will we know the status of each language? Audiobooks that don't require any lip-syncing is an excellent use case for the dubbing feature. Especially with the new podcasting additions and memberships. But maybe not if a German dub can cause ads in every language to become limited. FYI, you know what would be the best solution for this, allowing us to see the notes that the bot gives the manual reviewers on why videos are being limited so we could fix it before sending it for a manual review. That way we aren't playing the guessing game that wastes the time of manual reviewers and takes 72 hours for each round of attempted corrections. So exhausting and frustrating!
One additional point of effeciency, is that this can be *_extremely_* helpful at consolidating monetization efforts! Suggestion, unless this has already been done and I missed it: Could you extend the auto transcription feature to languages that are different than the channel's default language? My org runs channels in many languages, and oftentimes, lining up captions from videos that might have slightly different timestamps is laborious. This would be _very_ helpful in adding more subtitles to a channel's videos and close even more multilanguage gaps. Thanks! @MrBeast
Thanks for the feedback. Currently, automatic captions will only be available in the language of the original audio track. Creators also have the option to add their own captions track in any language of their choice (not automatic).
❓ There is a lot intel missing: In your video description it says it gets rolled out to _more_ content creators - does that mean eventually _everyone_ will have it? ❓ Or only those in the YPP? Or only with a specific amount of Subscribers? ❓How does the whole procedure look like? It'd be great to see an example video, e.g., where to upload additional language audio files. ❓ How do viewers chose their language, on desktop and mobile? ❓ Does YT geolocate and pick according audio? E.g. personally I'd prefer English original audio, not of my current not-English-language-country I live in. ❓Do you have to add ALL language files when you upload the video? It'd be great if we could add new languages anytime, or correct faulty audio/replace it. Thank you.

A really interesting topic, especially for creators from Germany 💖💖 not only working with subtitles here, but really with syncronitation. Really a very adventurous idea 🤩
I wonder if it was possible to have a similar feature for subtitles instead of dubbing. The problem with currently closed captions is that they are not mandatory and if a viewer doesn't have it turned on they might not like it. Also, incrusted subtitles would just be better and more pleasing to read. So what we basically need is multiple video tracks for different incrusted subtitles that also auto-play in the language in the language of the viewer.
Sure inspired me to start a channel this year, I'm planning to do a lot this year. Music, Anime, Music Videos, Media coverage and maybe more, if I can.
I currently have two channels, one in English and one in Spanish. I speak both languages fluently, so what I do is I record most videos twice. I don't know, I would find it weird to dub a video with someone else's voice, when it's a language I do speak, and if I were to use my voice it will still take me time to record it. I could use an AI pretending to be me, but that tech is not quite there yet hahaha. So eventually when I see the need to expand to Portuguese for example, then yes, this would be awesome!
You can record an alternate language track in your own voice so you don't have to worry about another voice. This is beyond HUGE . I can't wait . People have been asking me for translations (I couldn't afford them) for a long time (years). Almost a year ago I was solicited to have my videos dubbed in exchange for a 15% revenue share across the board on all my videos . I was never exactly sure how the whole this was gonna work and was not all that interested in if that was total across the board. But now that dubbing is connected to a real RUclips source ...I am (to say the least ) HOPEFUL!! Yea My Beast Yea RUclips! I have heard that A.I. programs can imitate pretty much anyone's voice and wouldn't it be amazing if that could happen as a translation dubbing aspect ....Just thinking.

Now I wish I'd studied harder at school with languages as I could have overdubbed them myself! Sounds like a great feature though, will keep an eye out for it. Cheers.
While I do like the idea of multi-language additions to the video, I feel like that's going to be something for the well established channels. What I'd like to see, is an option to re-adjust the volumes of the video sections (or whole) right from the editor tab. Either that, or DL and adjust the volumes, but set it as a new English Language, and then remove the old one.
They desperately need better audio editing features. Being able to re-normalize audio is so desperately needed. I didn't know what I was doing with audio when I started my channel and now I do but those old videos are now stuck permanently quieter than my newer ones for absolutely no reason
@@LunaSolarys Same! With my old Tutorial Channel (Omoi Senpai) I've taught music, and some of them were criminally low is the LUFS (Content Loudness) But even nowadays, so many great videos being ruined by volumes 27dB below the norm. Like the 1 hour Mr Beast video for vid con smh.
Loved this, but we also need You Tube to do a better job at auto subtitles. I have to spend hours fixing mine each time in English, to even start having correct language subtitles... let alone audio translations!
I'm told that people who want good automatic subtitling already use Checksub. Joking aside, good subtitling is the basis. We know it because we're doing it for 6 years ;-)
I worked for an educational company in my niche that did a lot of tutorial type content and the amount of requests for spanish was insane. Something like this for youtube would be incredible for people wanting to enjoy the content but not understanding the language the video is in. This is dope.
Been waiting for the dub thing to go live. I applied for it but never got accepted. The primary audience for the games I cover are languages I don't even speak so I can really grow my channel if I'm able to speak a language they understand.
I'm very keen on using this new feature, because this is exactly a problem I'm facing. I would love to start immediately with multi-language-audio. Can't wait...
as i said when you announced it, the voiceovers feature is awesome and i can't wait to have it in the channel, i hope you can activate it as soon as possible because i would like to experience it with my voice team
In the age of AI this and AI that..... wouldn't it be amazing if RUclips added a feature to auto-generate audio dubs in various languages? (they can autogenerate captions, why not also allow for reading them aloud?)
Does RUclips default the language track that the viewer watches the app on? Let's say I make my videos in Norwegian, and make a dubbed audio track in English. Do viewers from Spain get the English dub automatically or do they have to select it?
I'm sad realizing THIS video isn't dubbed! I would love to be able to use multilanguage audio even for the same language so I would able to put an audio description track, enhancing accessibility for the viewers!
Oh boy, I've been waiting for this feature for literally _YEARS!_ I've been doing a lot of turorial videos and always added subtitles in other languages but I _so wished_ I could just add another audio track in that language. Can't wait for it to be available to the average creator 🙏
Letting us upload language tracks was a much needed feature for accessibility.

Perfect idea. I cant wait for this update !
WHEN MULTI LANGUAGE AUDIO IS AVAILAVLE ITS VERY IMPORTENT AND HELPFUL EVERY CREATOR AND VIEWWES .
Thank you.
Yeah, so many comments here and yours is the only one that is saying what's in my head... what should be in everyones head! What, how, when?
@@ShauninParadise In your head, in your head, Zombeeeh-eeeeh-eeeh-eeeh? - Wait, that's what's in my head now due to what's in your head.
Human brains are confusing!
Putting that aside, it seems you're one of few thinking that though, or else more people would have replied, upvoted or added more questions about details to that feature, that I didn't think off the top of my head when I commented.
- Let's hope we both get all the answers to whatever's in our heads ;)
my old videos don't have great audio, i hope we get a update that allow to update the current audio and gives the option to upload other languages audio to that will be fantastic.
Creators can upload audio tracks for new and existing videos.
Thank you for the very informative update! Will MLA be available for the back catalogue or just new videos?
for everything irrc
Creators can go into their backlog of videos and add additional language tracks.
Thank you for the very informative update! I recently started adding subtitles to my videos.
Mrbeast ❤️🔥
Jimmy is the Mastermind of RUclips
yep!
is there analytics on youtube creator studio to show how often certain audio tracks are being used?
Stay tuned for further updates on tracking your watch time and views by audio language in RUclips Analytics.
Would love to have that feature and audio for people in Japan and Tokyo. That's a whole new world of creativity
Why just Japan & Tokyo when there's India
The thing he suggested at the end, you could do something like that with the Klingon language track.
That sounds interesting.
He’s really grown during these years since his beginning. Really a great inspiration for new creators.💚
Sure inspired me to start a channel this year, I'm planning to do a lot this year. Music, Anime, Music Videos, Media coverage and maybe more, if I can.
when this function will be available for every creator?
Thank you so much. You tube is getting better day by say.
Much needed feature for our channel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cant wait to get this feature, that’s a game changer
This is so cool. I can't wait til it fully rolls out.
We're working to bring this feature to more creators. Stay tuned!
I mean yeah! Awesome feature
...would be great to like...be able to use it 😬
I was thinking the same thing. How do we use this???
We're working to bring this feature to more creators. Stay tuned!
@WeegeepieYT You can use it! Just in a different way, prolly a new channel or a a new playlist !
For the languages you don't speak, check out our video on Area120's experimental dubbing feature here: ruclips.net/video/H2PPMtyWh98/видео.html.

We're just offering AI Dubbing since a year at Checksub ;-)
With my old Tutorial Channel (Omoi Senpai) I've taught music, and some of them were criminally low is the LUFS (Content Loudness)
But even nowadays, so many great videos being ruined by volumes 27dB below the norm. Like the 1 hour Mr Beast video for vid con smh.
Thanks for the feedback!
Loved this, but we also need You Tube to do a better job at auto subtitles. I have to spend hours fixing mine each time in English, to even start having correct language subtitles... let alone audio translations!
Thanks for the feedback.
I don't think it's just Spanish John but Hindi too !
Been waiting for the dub thing to go live. I applied for it but never got accepted. The primary audience for the games I cover are languages I don't even speak so I can really grow my channel if I'm able to speak a language they understand.
I made the 949th like :) Super helpful, thx.
Please release this to all creators! And next thing - multi-language cover images for vids
Thank you for the tips!! I will try to implement them on my channel love your content and your passion!!
Neat! This seems like a very useful feature that I'll defintely use to grow my channel in the future!
I'm very keen on using this new feature, because this is exactly a problem I'm facing. I would love to start immediately with multi-language-audio. Can't wait...
You definitely can! trying to reach out to see if I can help, I would want this for you !
A year later and still no MLA available for either of my small channels. When will it be available?
youtube is just getting better day by day for both creator and viewer
Your right
how do you manage thumbnail for different languages with just one asset
Currently, uploading multiple thumbnails is not supported.
as i said when you announced it, the voiceovers feature is awesome and i can't wait to have it in the channel, i hope you can activate it as soon as possible because i would like to experience it with my voice team
yep, for most yts
Great! I really need this feature ASAP!
I just hope that this feature will have more impact with the audience in various countries and attract everyone's interest.
That's the goal!
In the age of AI this and AI that..... wouldn't it be amazing if RUclips added a feature to auto-generate audio dubs in various languages? (they can autogenerate captions, why not also allow for reading them aloud?)
when is this gonna roll out? I might get me and my family to just redub everything in french for our family to understand us lol
We're working to bring this feature to more creators. Stay tuned!
@@creatorinsider Can I have the feature?
Why only French and why wait, you can really hire studios to get it dubbed for an affordable rate!
It's only a select few RUclipsrs currently, however, you can definitely apply the same for your own channel or videos!@@HappyGab
A great update for teaching channels...Good Job ✅ love from India♥️
Does RUclips default the language track that the viewer watches the app on? Let's say I make my videos in Norwegian, and make a dubbed audio track in English. Do viewers from Spain get the English dub automatically or do they have to select it?
Yes, audio will default to the viewer’s language of preference if it is available.
Had no idea you could do dubs from multiple languages on one channel
I'm sad realizing THIS video isn't dubbed!
I would love to be able to use multilanguage audio even for the same language so I would able to put an audio description track, enhancing accessibility for the viewers!
You can check out how it works by going to Settings > Audio Track > Toggle on either Spanish or Portuguese for this video
Tá dublado agora sim mano! Acho que não funciona em alguns computadores
Waiting for the Dub feature :)
Oh boy, I've been waiting for this feature for literally _YEARS!_ I've been doing a lot of turorial videos and always added subtitles in other languages but I _so wished_ I could just add another audio track in that language. Can't wait for it to be available to the average creator 🙏
Brother, you don't have to wait so much. Make a new playlist or a channel, it's a little more work but worth it !
MUCH RESPECT! IT'S ALL IN OR NOTHIN!
Thanks ver much👍
Yeah! This is great news, thank you for sharing!
No one better to get advice from. I’ve been wondering about this because I’m am multilingual
