Hello Chad.Just wondering if you ever use anti-oxidant spray to clean the pins of tube or tube socket connectors. I haven't as yet cleaned my my sockets and tube pins.Thanks,Tex.
Is this an MkII? For some reason I read on a forum you can’t bias the MkII, I only ask since I have a blackstar MkII kentucky special and I have it sent to a tech to change the tubes, I had read before most blackstar don’t need to be biased but for some reason I can’t find that information. Cathiod based amps don’t need to be biased right? Just fixed biased amps?
Not sure if this is helpful being it’s a few months back.. but these amps including the 40watt Kentucky are 100% bias able, I’ve ran 6l6 and el34 in mines and rebiased to recommended specs and they work like a charm. 🤘🏼
And what's the plate voltage on each tube at the time they are being biased? Need this to verify power dissipation for the tube type and desired setting
You're right... your video damn near killed me. Here's a non-expert learning how to work on an amp while we watch... and nah... let's not hear a before and after.. that would be silly.
love the part of. "there in, there are bias. was very simple" and nothing was explained. lol. This video had a good idea. that's was it. just learn of how bad smoke is...
This is very bad, load s of vids on RUclips on biasing amps, if you want to do it correctly and safely watch Uncle Doug & D-Lab, these guys know their stuff. I suggest you get a decent meter, learn to use it do a few maths and bias properly .
Thanks.... Your video gave me the confidence to do this myself. Although.... I think your blackstar is warping space-time.
Is it necessary or required to bias the tubes? Specifically the preamp tubes?

Because its been asked by a few comments : 26:12 He sets the bias to 35mA (I think he meant 35 mV)
yep probably

Am a I wrong but you need to plug in your speakers not the input jack for your guitar?
You.need to spread the bear claws open before removing the tubes. Doing it that way can pull the glass loose of the base

What's the spec on the tubes you're biasing? Very important
I added a few notes to my video. Hope it helps..
are those the octoal probes or the 9 pin ones? cheers
So the ECC 82 goes in the slot that is nearest to the power tubes right?
What did you set the bias too when you did this?
26:12 he says 35mA (I think he meant 35 mV) 🌹
What did you set the mv to when you bias it? 50mv?

I finally posted a video on how to BIAS without probes.
Cool ... I'll watch 😃
Didn't see a video up ... Post a link 😃
ITs still uploading. didn't expect such quick response.. LOL
+Roger Bates ha ... Yep I am quick usually😜
Ok i'ts almost done
I just use vise grips to pull those pesky 12ax7s out.. 🔧🔧🔧
😂😂😂😂😂
Nice shirt.
If ever a post needed editing. ..This is it.
Paul Rowlatt yep probably
What tubes did you install?
Chad - nice of you wanting to help others with your BIAS experience BUT this has to be one of the worst "How-To" videos I watched.
A. W. Yep probably

Lol 😃. Yep I got rid of it because it sounded like a wet blanket on top before and after ... So you weren't missing anything 👍🏻 peace
+Chad Boston Lol, that sucks. I was debating getting one of these, but I did notice that it's not a very bright amp.
+Dartheomus yes exactly... But I am totally sold on my line 6 helix and my line 6 Firehawk 1500 amp... Thanks for watching 😃
Damn, paint me envious. I really want to check out that Line6 Helix, but I wish it was a little more affordable! :)

You don't need to plug your input in to bias an amp
You do on blackstars... where's the stand by switch?... in the input switching jack... doh!
I biased mine up to 70mV
just edit this thing and make it simple, otherwise thank you for trying to help

Volts cant kill amperage does.
What if I run you over with my Voltswagon.. then what? 😆😆😆
