Hi there another great video. One question...is your anchor attached to that hand winch/reel thing in the holder at the front? And did you use burley? I heard that attracts Gurnard and other fish if at anchor. Thanks and keep the great vids coming. Still saving for my ski lol
Hey mate, yes the anchor is attached to that reel, but that is only to store the anchor rope on, the anchor is actually tied off to a rope on the bow of the jetski. I don't use burley, it can work well but it can also attract sharks and rays, and sometimes also plaque proportions of kahawai which can be a real pain if you are trying to catch gurnard
Watching your vid waiting for the fog to lift at the beach ramp. Here on the east coast USA we call those fish sea Robbins. Never ate one. Sometimes you can't get away from those things over here.
Good luck out there fishing! I have heard of sea robins, I think they are a slightly different fish but same family, wonder if they taste just as good as these Gurnard?
@@GCJetskiFishing i looked up sea robin and it says otherwise called gurnards! Around here they are usually thought of as a nuisance fish and people don't keep them. You should do a cook video on them. Also I use there fillets as bait. Caught a pb fluke/flounder on one!
@@Wreck-it_Ralph oh wow that is crazy, they've always been regarded as a top eating fish here, funny how things change in different parts of the world!
awesome video man! was hopin to get something good at the manukau this morning but man the sharks r relentless as hell haha really enjoy catching gurnard myself too especially surfcasting but man hard to target from the shore.
Hi Mate, is this in Manukau harbour as well where you fish the gurnard? I have seen a few of your other videos that you can catch snapper and trevally in Manukau harbour, may I ask you which boat ramp you used to going out to the Manukau harbour ? Many thanks
Great fishing. Are you not worried that the red weed will get in the motor / impeller? You have no IDF on the Yamaha I think. Yes, gurnard is my favorite eating fish
I've had skis for 8 years now and never had weed block the jet pump, 50% of the time I launch into the waikato river that has loads of weed and still never been an issue not having idf
