Just had dinner with Butch and his wife last week at the local casino ,,, great performer and a nice guy ! Can't wait to see him again ,,, I was a kid in 76 ,, man is a legend !
7-8 yrs ago I was a my grandma house helping my mom out, she was taking care of her mom who at the time was in the final stage of Alzheimer's and Butch can by to pick up something one of our other cousins left for him ,though we are family I haven't seen him in since I was a baby anyway after spending a few min talking to my mom and finding out which one of the six I was he talked to Gran'ma Rebeiro, she was out of it just staring off in the distance in comprehensive then he began singing to her first in English which seemed to elicit a slight response the he switched and started singing in creole (cape verdean) not being able to speak anything but English I don't know the song my mom said it was an old creole love song all I know is that it sounded beautiful and my Gran'ma who up to that point was as stoic as a wooden statue was smiling and crying ..and appeared to be trying to sing along .Thank you Butch for bring happiness even for a short time back into her life ,anyone who's ever had to help care for someone with dementia and Alzheimer's know how scary ,confusing,and lonely it can be for someone suffering from such a disease .Again thank you cousin .I miss and love you Gran'ma may you rest peacefully till our Lord returns to take home.

They have had more than their share of family tragedy sickness and death but they just keep on. " keeping on"..... God ess you' your grandmother whom you cared for so caringly. Great dance moves Butch....you just turned your clock back 30 years! Chubby danced his famous move off stage without the double reverse splits ...but they move very well ...still a great show. They have gone from 6...Victor recorded their first hit in 73...then left for solo career.....from the famous 6 now as Pookie had stroke and Ralph just passed. Sad day when down to 3 unless Victor returns. Can't lose Tavares .....too many times over the decades it has been " the day tragedy changed the lineup." " can't lose these wonderful concerts and videos. Sing on fellas......we will be here till the very end and even beyond..... BUTCH,Pooch, Tiny and Chubby...... ⭐🌟⭐🌟⭐ 🎶🕊🙏🕊🎶

I knew Butch and his brothers when they first started at Gigis in Stoughton ma.I think it was in early 70s. They were excellent then and still now.Very talented guys and nice guys.
