I have played around ten times a week for 3 years now and can't even make half of those shots. 😂 He knows the spins so well. Even that last 8 would have been weird from me. 😁
The break is random, you can break 100 times with the same power, hitting the cue ball in the same position, placing the cue ball in the same position and you’ll never get the same results. You might pot from the break 80-85% of the time, or you might pot 20% of the time or even not pot at all. In pool the break is the most frustrating thing and can most of the time, win or lose you a game for you. The best thing you can do is find a position on the table you feel most comfortable having the cue ball and just practicing the break. Each table will play different in a competition environment and cloths will play different. Just something I wanted to add. I really like the video though, great tips! Keep it up!

@@madyottoyotto3055 the problem is not physics. He is right. You will never have the same break twice. Its impossible. A proper rack has every ball in there without a gap between them, but there are gaps, these gaps make the brake odd. You can use it to your advantage, find where the most gaps are, and bright from the opposite side. If you see there are more gaps on the left side of the rack break from the right side. This will guarantee you that that area will break up more evenly across a table.
I appreciate your lessons and the way they are presented. I've been playing pool for 58 years and always found that playing was a great way to unwind, and of course fun!. I recently gave my son a very nice extra table I had. He is a critical care doctor, and having this as an option to unwind after a long shift is working out great for him. He has been watching some of your lessons and playing every day. We get together every week to play for a few hours and his improvement every week is amazing. Your technique of teaching with excellent logical explanations is very similar to how I have been teaching him prior to your videos. One thing I do when I find my game is off, missing things I shouldn't, I play a couple racks one handed to make me settle down, concentrate and get my steady aim back in place. It always works for me. Thanks for your great lessons.

I use a side break because of exactly what happened in the second break; if you fail to make a ball on the break and spread the rack to that extent and don’t make anything; it will be your last shot against a good player. This is especially true on bar box tables where if you get to the last 2 balls before the 8 and the 8 doesn’t have a pocket you have to play safety shot. Great video as always.
This is a great video for many players that struggle with their break and with ball selection after the break. For some players shot making in itself is a bigger factor than ball selection. Overall a fantastic video and tutorial for simple 8-ball break and pattern play. Many will get a lot of good information and if they put it into practice will see improvement in their game. Thanks for putting in the tremendous effort it takes to shoot, edit, and post videos like this. It’s really a fantastic way to promote pool and increase the quality of average players around the world. Maybe some future world champions are getting their start here.
A good break is definitely key I liked how you talked about playing into multiple shots as well, I’ve seen a lot of good players mess up a hard leave and ruin a run when they could have played a shot where you have 2 or 3 options depending on speed and angle I always like playing into those because it gives you more flexibility and the next ball is usually easy to get on
I am a huge fan of Sharivari. But these were truly wide open layouts, and of course perfect for the basics of getting thru a rack. I would like to see him play a couple of racks with a cluster or two, balls frozen on rail, etc.. Love all your videos. Keep up the good work!
Seeing the cue ball hop straight up on the break is always nice. Those always seem to be my best breaks and it makes sense because I must be hitting very squarely on the first ball for the cue ball to go straight up and not to the left or right at all. Less power and more accuracy is a big help if anyone is struggling on their breaks. It's so much more difficult to hit accurately when you put in more power so until you hit the ball you are aiming at as full as possible you should try lowering your speed even if that means a less powerful break. You will likely get similar results with more accuracy even though there is less power.
I always thought and used middle to bottom on the cue ball and have been successful at controlling the cue ball in the centre of the table. Tonight I will try top of the cue ball for the break. Great tip!! Thank you

Thus your instruction, made it's point! Following the break, I call it finding the road map 🗺️🗺️ for the run out. Usually for myself 🙂😉 I can drop 5-6, of my object Balls consistently!! I'M a natural Banker rather than a slicer per say? Those slices particularly in the side pockets really mess with my Mojo. Where I play through out WYO, Montana, and other locations, the Tables are the 4-half by 8ft size Bar Tables. Referred to as Valley-8 tables Mgf by Cougar I think 🤔🤔🤔🙏. As your other commenter said the surfaces, can really vary a lot. The cushions, are never the same, (unless State Tournament, or a sanctioned event). The biggest mistake many make is trying to kill the cue ball.You do not have to overpower every shot.Take your time with each shot,speed kills,slow and steady wins games.I would like to know more about cue positioning as it relates to the cue ball.i.e.-where I should strike the cue ball with my cue to sink my shot.I subscribed.
To me, I keep it as simple as this: Consider the shot you are taking like you already made it. Then look at where the cue ball will be for you next shot. Mental visualization leads to sharp focus.
back hand - loose , 90 degree front hand - v grip, closed O grip look back and forth to the object and cue ball then look only at the object ball breaking - slight left or right then hit straight to the first ball and try to get cue ball at the center 🎱🫡

Interesting. I understand the desire to play one side of the table at a time, rather than moving back and forth the full length on each shot. But I always kind of just hope to manage to do that when I start playing the rack, and if it doesn't work out that way I play all over the table and just say pool is a funny game sometimes. Making note of groupings before deciding on the first ball would definitely make the table easier to plan. Playing a 2 or 3 ball group and making shape on the next group sounds a lot more simplified than planning an 8 ball run.
This is great for the left-handed players seeing that the LH instructor is viewing the ball layout to fit or be beneficial for the LH'ed players. Believe it or not, the ball layout and shot making can look entirely different from LH to RH players is some circumstances. I would've chose the stripes /11 ball for my first shot which would have benefited my right handed game. Just my opining / observation. Do any other right handed players also see the layout my way? Nevertheless, Excellent video.

I would really like for you to explain in witch situations to use English. Then what English to use. I’m starting to learn a bit more. Sometimes I do fine, but I get confused, because I keep thinking to also figure out where the cue ball is going. I haven’t played for over 5 months until a couple days ago. On the break I place the cue ball Just before the middle dot and about an inch off the rail I am directly at the second ball. And hit the cue ball in the middle and what happens when the cue ball collides with the brake a ball will come off the side rail and into the eight ball and pocket the eight ball in the side pocket It doesn't matter which side of the table you placed the cue ball on. And if you don't pocket the eight ball on the break you do scatter the break very well

Yea cause every table has different cloth speed so the only way to break consistently is finding the sweet spot on that table with the precise power

This is great for the left-handed players seeing that the LH instructor is viewing the ball layout to fit or be beneficial for the LH'ed players. Believe it or not, the ball layout and shot making can look entirely different from LH to RH players is some circumstances. I would've chose the stripes /11 ball for my first shot which would have benefited my right handed game. Just my opining / observation. Do any other right handed players also see the layout my way? Nevertheless, Excellent video.
Always try different tips you advise, plenty of practice gives me more confidence tuvm, I'll keep watching your very helpful videos

I would really like for you to explain in witch situations to use English. Then what English to use. I’m starting to learn a bit more. Sometimes I do fine, but I get confused, because I keep thinking to also figure out where the cue ball is going. I haven’t played for over 5 months until a couple days ago. I just watch it every day on here. You and Efren Reyes. I know if I try to ply to often like him it’s confusing when getting to the table. Thank you. I know you can help me.
On the break I place the cue ball Just before the middle dot and about an inch off the rail I am directly at the second ball. And hit the cue ball in the middle and what happens when the cue ball collides with the brake a ball will come off the side rail and into the eight ball and pocket the eight ball in the side pocket It doesn't matter which side of the table you placed the cue ball on. And if you don't pocket the eight ball on the break you do scatter the break very well
