The order of operations (bodmas) is Brackets, Orders (or indices), Divisions AND Multiplications, then Addition AND Subtraction. If a calculation consists of just additions and subtractions, work from left to right. I hope that helps

this is year 1 A level (so AS level). I think this is also covered in GCSE further maths and addmaths

for the first example, via BODMAS rules, shouldn't it be -13 as you add the 18 and 4 before taking 9
