I used to do TV service for hospitals and that was one of the models we used. The CRTs lasted forever. Usually bad connections on the modules. Just subscribed, great channel!
Great video and nice set! I feel you on the glue. I just finished replacing about 20 components in an 80's Yamaha amp due to that wonderful stuff. It's fun to poke a component and have it fall off the board because the leads are eaten clean through.
This chassis is the most reliable Zenith color built. Cold joints on the H drive xformer & the 9-155-01 CRT board were about the only fails. Watch out for the H yoke connector too ! This is a gen 1 system 3. Next year (L-line) the PWR transformer was gone & an over complex H drive & out replaced it. The CRT is an in line EFL tube with 3 focus grids. Oh BTW if you add the prefix 121- to the 3 or 4 digit number on transistors you get the Zenith PN# & can cross is. Thanks for saving her. Tom LFOD !
Hi, the transistor is a 121-1014 (zenith code), the direct replacement is the NTE190. Check for corrosion on the leads of the capacitors at the collector of the horizontal output transistor, and try to remove as much of that glue as possible. Also, a dirty focus pot may cause a similar simptom. Good luck.
Nice find! Dunno what the "inshot" branding on the bottom right of the video is all about, but if it's the app you're using for recording on your phone, maybe go take a look at "open camera" as an alternative recording app.

My Granmother had the lower level trim model of this set. Loved the channel switch set up. Chunk, chunk chunk.
