Lotus Brojuice was asked to do a nice simple little song for the Night Exploration since there wasn't one in the original game and he instead freakin' burned the whole studio down doing arguably one of the best songs in Persona history.
The direction for Mass Destruction & When the Moon's reaching out stars are quite questionable for me tbh. The clear pronunciation/ singing doesn't fit and it's quite a shame really since her voice is actually really good. The direction for Mass destruction feels kinda underwhelming as well, it's more or less not that 'energetic' and 'lively' as it was especially on the chorus, tho could've been okay if it weren't for the pronunciation of "baby" and that clear singing aspect.
I kinda don't get why people seem to prefer the older version of Moon's Reaching Out, I think the vocals sound so much better and the mixing overall has been improved a lot in the newer version. Is it purely nostalgia or maybe just cause we don't have the full version yet?
What kind of reminds me of the idea that they probably took some concept ideas from the fan made Persona 5 songs Back Then on RUclips it kind of gives me that reminder if that makes any sense. Man even when Shoji Meguro not working on the OST, you can tell his influence is still there. I am glad Lotus Juice came back,. he is extremely familiar with the Persona 3 theme and style so his involvement likely added to the quality of the music. Excellent job Atlus and to those involved!
True. Lotus Juice isn’t just familiar with persona 3 theme and style. He became the persona 3 theme himself. His new tracks from other anime/ games are very persona type things.

The new singer has a softer approach to the songs. That’s basically it. She doesn’t hit words as hard as the original singer did. She sounds great, but the vibe is different. I think a lot of people will trash the ost because it’s different, but honestly it’s not that they “messed” songs up, they just tried to rearrange the original songs to better fit what the new singer is comfortable. It’s clear that the original songs were written with the original singer in mind and they did their best to keep the songs the same, while accommodating the new lady’s vocal style. A lot of people are being overly toxic and entitled.
I understand what you’re saying and Azumi doesn’t deserve any hate, but why choose her instead of a singer that actually fits the vibe of the music that’s already there? Instead of doing what they’re doing right now and changing the entire vibe to make it work with the new singer? It just seems like extra work and you end up pissing off a lot of people.
@@koflegend391 i heard that yumi is old enough to retire and she is a heavy smoker too, so her note doesn't hit the same anymore. They can just use the old track with yumi voice, but they decide to redo everything. I appreciate and respect that. It shows that they really cherish this game. If atlus go with the old track, ppl will complain calling it a lazy remake. Even if they dont hire azumi and go for someone else, fans will still complain because its not yumi, so it doesn't matter at the end of day because you can't please everyone.

They want the ost to flow together so they just remade the whole thing with Azumi. I don’t know how the composition of this ost went, but it’s possible they started with the new songs, they sounded amazing, and then they just decided to redo the whole thing with her and work backwards from there.

I love the remixes to the original P3 OST but I'm really impressed with the original compositions of Color Your Night and It's Going Down Now. The singer really shines in those songs and it's cool that we get the P5 Jazz vibes from Color Your Night mixed with Lotus Juice. I was hoping they added the Iwatodai Dorm theme in this as well so I can play this all the way to February 2.
Changing Seasons is actually so good, the other remixes sound great also but Changing Seasons and (from what we heard in Fuukas preview) Want to be Close are genuine improvements over the original. I also love When The Moons Reaching Stars but I'm not 100% sure it's better. Mass Destruction still sounds a little weird, not bad by any means, it sounds fantastic, but the original is just so iconic.

I think Ill be able to fully determine if I like the change in vocals once I play the game. Yumi Kawamura's voice is iconic to me, however since this a remake, Im curious how the change in vocals will complement the overall experience and make this new ladys the iconic voice for Reload.
It's going to take time for me to warm up to the new vocal, but juust for the first and second song. Her voice is too jazzy? Which is why I really love the new song and the new Changing Seasons. They're beautiful!

I first played and beat p3 in 2016 and has remained as one of my favorites games of all time and I never thought I’d see a remake but persona 5 being a huge success got us here. The persona 3 cast is great all around and the soundtrack is one I’ll never forget
