    Nice job well done

    Now that is a woodpile! I've never seen a log lift that was too fast before! lol I love it. Kudo's to you guys for working hard and getting the job done.

  • @frankie2234
    @frankie2234 13 лет назад

    love the logsplitter...especially the lifter, that makes all the difference. You should make a vid on how to make it. Jealous, living in the burbs about an hour from you, paying that big old heat bill from DTE.

  • @localcrew
    @localcrew 13 лет назад

    You could use a restrictor orifice for your lift -- still, it gets 'em up there where they need to be. Or just put a net on the other side to catch 'em when they're launched. That really is some "Land of the Giants" firewood though. A little smaller wouldn't hurt! Great vid.

  • @CraigArndt
    @CraigArndt 12 лет назад

    That is wild that you caught that. Good thing the guy who made this video wasn't standing in front of the splitter, that thing had some heat to it!

    You could work up a wood pile faster than we could on the mill lol! That thing is a beast

    yeah @99cachorro is right that is some hernia wood, holy crap, and look at the size of them, wow.. I do see that outside boiler you have there, I have been conisdering to invest into one of those for my 2000 sqft house, that I currently heat the whole thing with a big wood stove..
    IT NEVER ENDS WITH WOOD.

  • @MONNIEHOLT
    @MONNIEHOLT  13 лет назад

    @firewoodguy1974 That is a fair question, should of said, live oak, now dead because it was cut down today and dismembered, so technically its dead oak logs that are being split today ps. your splitter looks like it can handle anything you put in it, great job

    Haha lots to feed that central boiler we love our stove but we burn a lot of soft wood

  • @MONNIEHOLT
    @MONNIEHOLT  14 лет назад

    @dbest1a This will be my sixth winter with mine, I got it not so much to save money on gas but did it for the exercise, a boiler is like a living organism, it has a brain, heart, vanes, and you got to feed it or it will starve, clean up after it. however not having a gas bill other than the monthly service charge is ok too

  • @kaysandesses
    @kaysandesses 11 лет назад

    Nice machine. I have a question: why isn't the wood worth more for lumber than for firewood? Did you fell the tree or was it a storm victim?

  • @MONNIEHOLT
    @MONNIEHOLT  13 лет назад

    @localcrew Believe it or not, I’ve got a flow control valve in line ( restrictor orifice ) with some logs that are not round a slower speed will not push the log where it needs to be, so the control valve is opened for any log put up there, there is also a heavy duty cradle on the other side to catch anything that might go to far, thanks for the comment

  • @mikebetts2985
    @mikebetts2985 9 лет назад

    Why did you have it set up that way? Should have the wood going the other end that way it can fall. Into the bucket? So. You don't have to keep bening over that much.

  • @JohnyAngelo
    @JohnyAngelo 11 лет назад

    I guess it's mainly because it's not good quallity. You can see those britgh spots in there and thats low quallity oak. Not good enought for lumber but definitely will keep you warm in winter.

    @frankie2234 Thanks, I built the splitter in a way where I could split trees by my self, this day my son and nepheu was there to help which made the chore more fun, I looked at other videos and got some ideas for them on how to make this splitter, still got a few bugs in it but it will do

    so what are the pump and motor sizes if you dont mind me asking?

  • @MONNIEHOLT
    @MONNIEHOLT  13 лет назад

    @dynodon427 the door is 23'' X 31'' The box itself is 56''X48'' in dead winter I will load logs that will fit in the door with out splitting them using a HYD.Log lift, seen in my other videos, in the fall smaller pieces work better

    Hey see how this guy dropped at tree in the woods . Well I can go to that tree and split and come out with firewood already in my multi-task hydraulic trailer . The log splitter is the attachment tow-bar rough terrain.

  • @MONNIEHOLT
    @MONNIEHOLT  14 лет назад

    @itwontme1111 Its a outdoor wood furnace, it will take 57 inch logs but I cut them 48 inches because the splitter can handle them, but! From now on when it comes to oak, ash, or maple they will be cut 30 inches because of the weight of them, thanks for the comment

  • @yourneck2

    Hello there, I saw a guy on RUclips with a "HM" splitter he said orafis or orfis were put in the back saver Hydraulic lines to restrict the flow so it wont launch logs haha..
    If I find it again I'll return with info. It's my goal to built a good splitter but materials are awfully expensive did you salvage any parts on your machine, and do you have any tips?
    By the way THATS THE LIFE!

  • @nailerb356
    @nailerb356 9 лет назад

    Nice rig! But to dangerous, I think you need to reduce the hose size or install needle valve on log lift. You about creamed your help several times and I would make it wider so the logs aren't falling off. You must like bending over to pick up split wood, why not add a cradle to the output end to catch what you just split? Ever hear the phrase"work smarter not harder" ?

      I have split more wood with a hammer and a wedge than most have split with equipment.
      Burning wood for nearly years life has given me a very good insight on the economics and safety of the situation. I am not the city slicker that you presume me to be.
      I admire your hard work.
