This is a good series. Thanks for making it. :) One point on the firewall VLAN blocking. At about 7:00 there was a typo in the second IP. Happens all the time, but it would make the firewall ineffective for blocking traffic from the guest VLAN to one of the other two internal ones.
Hello Mike, Thanks for the info, you have a very good eye! We will leave this comment here for posterity in case someone can spot that as well! I need your eyes to watch the other videos as well! :)
Further - I wondered if it might be more likely to notice a typo if a seperate rule was created rather than using a comma to jam another up range into the same rule (which gets obscured by the limited width visibility of that field)...?
Thank you for creating these videos. Can you create a step-by-step video for configuring HA failover between two MX Security Appliances? Please include the physical connections. TIA
Excellent videos, thanks so much. I have a question, what if i type the wrong IP address and lose communication? It is there any procedure to recover MX/MS?
Hello Juan, thank you very much for this training!!!! Unique, clear and understandable! Also, the US rack link for Amazon seems to be incorrect. Regards!
Really appreciate and like your content. Its helpful to get started. If you get a chance can you fix the links for video you mentioned to configure account @2.20 Minutes and similar on other videos as well. And playlist is not sorted to figure out some videos missing. Hopefully to see new videos coming soon.Thanks.
@The IT Way, thanks for the wonderfull sessions, I am learning it, I don't have any physical devices, can u guide me to go through practising, for better understanding Thanks in advance :)
Thanks for that really great explanation 🙂 Why is the IP address of Meraki port WAN1 at minute 08:58 from the server range subnet 192.168.2.0/24? Was this set automatically?
Hello Jacob del Rosario, You can find the documentation below on how to setup Warm Spare with MXs. documentation.meraki.com/MX/Deployment_Guides/MX_Warm_Spare_-_High_Availability_Pair
The IT Way I really liked the way u have explained each and everything. Yet i am new to Meraki but i feel i have a good knowledge now seeing ur videos😊
Hi, I am a home user who have no IT background at all. What that was not clear in your video is whether there is any configuration I need to change in my ISP provided modem router. What I read on the internet was that you need to reconfigure the ISP provided modem router by disabling its DHCP server and turn the modem router into bridge mode. Is that correct? Please clarify. Thanks!
Hello WM_Mak, To make the configuration and he implementation simple for a person with no IT background, I would say no. If you do not do that, everything will be working fine. If all your devices at your home will connect to the MX or the wireless APs that are connected to the MX, it is not necessary. However, if you prefer that the MX will have the management of the public IP address of your ISP, you can do the steps you mentioned.
Thanks for these Meraki videos! If I have an MX appliance providing both primary and guest wifi networks and need to get better wifi covereage on the other side of the office can I just add a Meraki AP such as the MR20 and simply tell the MX to use the MR20 to support existing wifi networks?
HELP! Does pressing the reset button on the back disconnect me from my organization? or will it automatically re connect? Also would any subnet or VLAN setting be affected by the reset? Response is much appreciated thanks!
Hello, Boss How I can get Cisco switch from Cisco. I need it badly to practice. Did follow your instruction on how to get it but have no idea what to do next
Your question does not make sense, DHCP dynamically assigns an IP. A fixed IP is either a specific IP, a range, or pool of IPs to pull from. I guess you might be asking what is the difference between a fixed IP and DHCP with a pool of IPs?
Hi there, can you show me how to configure 2 Z3 Gate way and 2 MX64 in the same network. They work as load blancing and fail over with each other. If you have a video with one specific network diagram is great! Thank you!
Hello Phan, You can find the documentation of how to configure the Security Appliances as a Warm Spare below. documentation.meraki.com/MX/Deployment_Guides/MX_Warm_Spare_-_High_Availability_Pair
Pardon for my newbie question. When you are creating the VLAN, do you need to consider about each MX IP related to the gateway, must be it same as router gateway or it has to be the subnet .1?
Hello Tommy, Each VLAN will have its own MX IP which will be the gateway for the clients in the network. It can be any IP address within the subnet configured for that VLAN. I hope that help you. Have a great day!
You identified! I realized it after I made the final edit. I left it to see if anyone would pick it up! There are several of those in some of the videos :)

Hello Abulfarage,
Cisco ISRs are not part of the Cisco Meraki portfolio. Therefore, it is not possible to be managed by the Cisco Meraki dashboard.
