It’s always a blessing to come out of church and see that Kayla has posted a new video of her self kids and husband working on the family farm bailing hay and getting it done. Will keep you in my prayers for your family to get rain for your crops🙏🌽 love ya ✌️❤️😇💖🤗🎗🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️
Kayla, you are a wonderful mother and wife. It was heart warming to see your daughter driving the tractor as you kept an eye on the baler and accumulator. It is nice you have a tractor with bigger floor space so you daughter can take a nap as you bale. She does great driving the four wheeler.
I just found you channel and I really enjoy listening and watching. You are one hard working woman. I grew up on a farm and worked on it till I was 16, raised by my Grandparents. much different now than when I was doing the haying. Bales were man handled on trucks and wagons. It was a great life and I am very happy the way my life turned out. Now long time retired.
Wayne I see we have the same last name, my brother Will Rogers runs a Dairy farm. We grew up on a family Dairy farm. I have been a truck Driver for the last 38yrs.This country couldn't survive without either of our profession.
I owned a similar setup for baling. Had Krohn cutter and 4430 tractor then MF baler with a Case IH on baler with Bobcat telehandler with the Kuhn tie grabber for loading and JCB Teleskid for unloading and stacking. Custom built bale wagons 330 bales per wagon. 3 of us get do 3200 bales per day on a good day. Retired from baling 2020. But sometimes I miss it. Sure is fun watching you and your family Kala. My grandkids my wife my sister all helped. We salted all our bundles in the field and they squared up the bundles so loading was faster. Thanks for the memories!
Kayla, great watching the Classy Massie eat the hay. It's good to see the quality and quantity of hay and after a break, get some much needed rain and continue to have many more bales to make. Enjoy a break and stay healthy .
Kayla.. you’re tough hang in there.. like the saying goes God will give you all you can handle and nothing more.. you guys are the backbone of this country…
2021 in our part of Texas just east of San Antonio was a bumper hay year. This year I have had almost 3 inches of rain. The last was 0.7 at the end of April. Since May we have had nearly 40 days of 100 degrees or more and the forecast thru the end of July is more of the same. Thank God I no longer farm or ranch as part of my retirement income. If so, I would have to sell out and move to town after this year. I only hope my full time farmer neighbors make it thru this. Absolutely the most severe I've ever witnessed in my adult life and I'm now 71. Here's to praying your year turns out ok with plenty of rain and lots more hay.
Bless you, girl! You have a tough life but it’s heart warming to see how your kids pitch in. I’m sure there is some pushback that you don’t show on video. I still say it’s better than the concrete jungle we have to work in.
You know what they say about good things come to those who wait...hey for miles and .looks like some rain your way this past week. So before you know it hay season will be over with your best season yet ..and a new SN JD tractor to boot. Be safe guys.
Hi Kayla! How long are your bales. I make mine 42inches. I primarily do alfalfa. Thinking of going from a ten on edge to a 15 but want to keep my bales at 42 inches. My bales average 75 to 80lbs . Reason I ask is I see you have a 15 bale accumulator. A little tip for the “fluffy” bales . Tighter bales and slower ground speed. More strokes with baler smaller flakes in bale . Makes a big difference. I know horse customers want lighter bales . So that may not be an option 🤷♂️. You do a great job . Enjoy your videos!
I think they’re like 32-34 inches. 🫣🫣🫣 they weigh right aorund that 55-60 pound marker. We keep them lighter for the clients we work with. That prefers the lighter bale (mainly horse folks.).
I'm hoping to have all of my hay making caught up by the end of this week. I have plenty to sell right now but have not been able to find a buyer (or more) just yet
We mowed yesterday & will again today - we’re about 4500 short of what we normally have done for the time of year it is. Just thankful that we’re getting any put up period at this point.
Hi. Why not making big round bales instead of that so many square ones? I had 3 small square ballers before, but they were going very slow in comparison with my new round baller.
Massey Ferguson Global 1840? is there a difference? From insight gained, we have decided to leave OUR Massey/ Bale Baron in stationary Mode and continue to round bale in the field. The stationary baled bundles have a neater appearance, than those baled in the field. The loading, hauling, unloading, detracts greatly from the appearance compared to the rebaled bundles....The new system is much faster, than The old system(1512 bales in 4 hours loaded and ready for shipment by 2 men
Hay season ranges but typically we start May to October, as of today 7.10.22 we’ve done 11k small squares, 800 Large squares - and no ETA on the tractor yet.
La soufleuse elle est sur batterie électrique ? Va falloir que je m'équipe, autonomie suffisante ? Le compresseur de freinage sur un de mes tracteur, c'est pas mal, mais c'est pas lui qui tire le round baller.
Viewed Sunday morning 7-10-22 Hey Kayla your daughter is a cutie doll, have to say she looks like you when you were here age. Letting her drive the baler is good experience, when she becomes a teenager she will take your job of baling !!! Did the chunk of wood snap the shear bolt or did you stop in time ???? I can understand after 3 days and 6000 bales anyone will be stressed and tired. Regarding rain ( don't know when you made this video ) here I had 1.1 " rain in gauge this morning which fell Fri-Sat here in the Fairview, Ill area . XOXOXO to you too :))))

Looking at about 40 acres in middle Indiana. What is a good way to figure out how much hay it will make? Obviously there are a lot of factors but trying to figure out investment cost
A lot really depends on the soil type - what’s the land in now? Has it been fertilized and maintained? CRP land? we shoot for 100 small square bales to the acre - obviously doesn’t always happens due to rain or weather. Soil samples are KEY.
I try. Some days are better than others. But what you see is what ya get 😂 good bad. Hot mess - or whatever. I’m the same as if ya pulled into the driveway that day

Your daughter is just adorable with those pitch black eyelashes ! And your freckles are adorable as heck !
We are finishing up 180 round bales this week, then wrapping covering these bales. Then grass fed haying is done.

Kayla I see you have your co pilot and navigater.
Glad you got a window of opportunity to get a lot baled. Looks like beautiful hay and a happy gìrl helping drive tractor.
That’s a lot of hay in a day!! The tie grabber is a nice feature.
My word, that's a bunch of hay.👍👍🙏

City folks don't get it!
How many acres do you farm
450 or so - but when you get 3-4 cuts off the alfalfa ground & a second cut off the rest it adds up. We’ve cut back some this last year.

Yep! He’s always wanted to be one - he started off just helping local neighbors as a kid & a teen. Before getting into FFA and starting the hay.
