It amazes me to see so many people fail to recognize the greatest violinist of all time; Heifetz. I can identify Heifetz after only a single note. Thank you for posting this wonderful video. Ferras was a phenomenal violinist.
@callasnuts No I don't! There is a video on youtube called the "Horror Staccato" on youtube. It's played by a young man who has the best bow control that I have ever seen. Check it out. He plays it way better than Heifetz. There is also a youtube recording of Grigoras Dinicu himself playing this piece, also mindblowing.
@ocramizz did you listen to Heifetz performance? I think you should listen hora staccato by Heifetz. He really was the best violinist ever. (Sorry, my english is like Ferras: making serious mistakes.)
As amazing of a violinist as he is, I do not like his rendition of Hora Staccato. It seems a little tense, aggressive, and it sounds he is actually having trouble playing some of the parts. My favorite recording of Hora Staccato has to be Michael Rabin's. His playing has no extra sounds (hitting extra strings, scratchy sounds on connected notes), and I believes sounds better and smoother than even the great Heifetz's recording.
Ginette is very musical. But not the correct style. She is classically very boring in comparison. Jewish music doesn’t mix milk with a meal till a hour later.
Wow, he plays it like music and not juts a violin showpiece! Just like neveu! Beautiful

I think everybody is tired of hearing about Heifetz in videos that don't feature him.

Its name is "Hora staccatto"
I'm thinking or citing this video for my research paper. What was the original source of this video?

I love this performance, but prefer Ginette Neveu's. It's personal, for me, as a violinist. I wish I could play as well as either of them.
@callasnuts Who plays better in your opinion? Call it!

Ginette with Jean is the best
It sounds a little as if he has trouble keeping pace.

Ha! No! Kavakos is the best violinist ever!
Christian Ferras is not really comfortable playing this piece, the staccato is just not for him.
