For the white stickers, you could also layer them over a black/navy/coloured paper you lay down on regular pages. I've been intrigued by black page journals, but it feels limiting, although you could reframe it as challenging and make it fun.
Yeah it’s tricky isn’t it - I’m not sure I trust my paint marker collection to handle a full journal of black pages! I did some black paper layering for October though and it was fun!
The green knife thing is a ceramic knife 😃 it works like an exacto knife and I find it especially handy for cutting out motives out of PET-tapes and the like 🩵 Also nice assortment of goodies 🩵 makes me wanna shop for stationery 🤡

The knife thing has a very tiny blade that only sticks out about 1mm. They do work on washi, I have one. They are basically a safety knife. Some of them are actually a tiny ceramic blade.

OMG it's funny that you mentioned XOMacenna's Texas house, because her style and her mom's floral paintings were my inspiration for my start-of-journal setup for 2024 😂 Journalsay had a couple of washi tapes that had the moody floral vibes. I'm kind of in love with it.

I’ve ordered twice from them and their prices are amazing! It’s actually the first stationary store I found. I was curious why they are way cheaper than any of the other sites I’ve looked at. And how the quality compares. I’m new to this art journaling thing
I believe they’re based in China, and use the same wholesalers as lots of sellers on the well-known Chinese discount sites - so you’d find a lot of the same items on Wish, Temu, AliExpress etc but it’s a much nicer shopping experience on Journalsay since they ONLY sell stationery and related things!
The smaller stationery businesses find their own manufacturers, and because they’re usually designing everything from scratch, supplying the artwork and getting samples and going back and forth until the product is perfect, the cost is usually much higher. Journalsay (and some other stores that also stock similar or the same items as Journalsay) are just buying bulk orders of stuff that already exists, so there’s a lot less expense to cover! Sometimes you get some items with flaws - I’ve had stickers that were cut poorly and lost some of the design - and a lot of their artwork is AI generated these days which some people prefer to avoid also, but on the whole it’s a great place to shop for pretty stationery at a great price!

Eventually I’d love to be able to buy from artists and support smaller businesses. Journalsay is a great start, esp with my 6 yo who is absolutely loving the creative journaling with all the stationary.
I low key hate you right now. i am trying to not buy stationary this month and this haul have so many beautiful stickers😍. I am in the process of doing a girl math on some of them. Like the moon stickers, you can cut the pack and use the front as doors in a collage… two for the price of one… it’s almost free🤣

Halloween is not really celebrated here - it’s kind of just by people who want to celebrate it, so it’s still October 31 - otherwise it would interfere with Easter 😂 Christmas in summer is all I know so I have nothing to compare it to! Winter in my city is still quite warm, we joke winter only lasts two weeks here. It’s usually between 18-25C maximum temps in Brisbane in winter but other parts of Australia get colder and we do have snow fields in other states!
Thank you Erin for answering me I would love your winter ours are from október to the middle of apríl and then we have a hollyday because its the first day of summer that's our Happy Summer but summer begin in June and ends in begining of September

There's a little knife tip on the pen thing in the tools set- It's not the best cutter IMO but it does it's job when I need it.

It’s a knife and it will cut paper but the one I have is more like it perforated it….but it does cut washi type stickers.
