- After California residents Benny and Susanne Anguiano's cat, Rayne Beau, ran off into the woods at Yellowstone National Parks during a camping trip, they held out hope he'd be found nearby. He was, but nearly 900 miles away from where he disappeared. Read more: bit.ly/3zzxj7O

He did it because "He was infinitely cunning and resourceful always, and above all he feared nothing"-- which is, I think, a quotation from _The Incredible Journey_ about Tao, the cat.
I love that book
That was my favourite book. They have documented several cats that have travelled far to return home.
Someone owed that cat money.
What an amazing story, aboslutely incredible that he walked 800 miles.
That's probably not what happened.
Too bad he did not find a responsible owner along the way.
@@nancybrouse5070 Our shelter are full of unwanted cats and dogs, so it's not surprising at all, really.
"That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run..."

People, keep your pets SAFE at HOME. There's no way I would've left my kid behind.
Way to cat mom shame. 🙄
It’s not a kid you devouring mother. It’s a pet, there’s a difference…
This can be how and why the Egyptians praised the felines 🤩🙏🥹 hope the sweetheart had safe travels during such an adventure 🕊️💞🥰
Nice to hear a story with a happy ending.
There is much information missing from this story. How long did they spend looking for him? How long was he missing? Was he microchipped? Where was he found? By whom?
I think it's the worst editing I've ever seen.
I just commented that too! She looks like the type that gives more information than you ever want to hear so they edited her story down to 2 mins but left out like, most of the important details cause they fell asleep at the computer.
@@Prettykittychimi…..
PROOF is in the chip.....
I've read elsewhere that they looked for him for several days. They left contact info with park rangers and stated they would come back for him. This was in June and he was found in California at the end of July. They got a call from a shelter because of his microchip and drove to pick him up almost two months to the day after he was lost.
Zero judgment for them, truly, but - No way I could've left him, I would have camped there until either he showed up or I died. So happy he's safe & back with his family. Incredible!
same here, cats owners are like the marines, we leave no one behind!
Mee too Cat Lovers are the best people in the World.
sure, forget your full time job and mortgage
@@wadexyz .....and kids, or elderly parents you are caring for, and the multitude of other responsibilities in your life. What happens when your crucial prescriptions run out? What happens when the Park TELLS you to leave?
Really? Would you really?
I doubt it very much.
Thank goodness that the cat was microchipped; that made such a difference when he "got stuck" before getting all the way home. It's obvious that these folks love their cats. I'd suggest that a collar is insufficient for keeping the cat safe on a leash. Harnesses are a better choice.
What happened from CBS Sacramento: the owners stayed in Yellowstone for 5 days before giving up. A month later a woman in a suburb of Sacramento CA heard a cat yawning in outdoor. Her intuition told her the cat was in trouble and she brought it canned food. From its reaction to the popping of the can she knew it's a pet. She then took it home and found from the microchip who its owner is.
We lost a cat once when we had to move. Couldn’t find him. We moved about 20 miles away. 3 months later there he was! Outside the new house! Never been there before! Made no sense.
One of your former neighbors found out where you moved and dropped off the cat. Mystery solved.
Amazed that the coyotes didn't get him.
Hes adorable actually.
What an incredible story! He is truly your soul cat!
Please love them. They DO have love in their hearts, and they are very considerate unlike some human. My cat passed away, and it broke my heart to pieces. I keep ask myself what I do wrong?
I'm sure both of us did nothing humanly incorrect. We always do our best, but sometimes fate treats us to heart💔. Been there, more than once.
Hes soooo cute!
Cats are known to travel many miles. One time there was a cat who traveled a few states to find their owners who thought he had died. They knew it was the same cat since they had an identification chip in him
I’m happy for you and the 🐱 ❤
What makes people think this won’t happen. They aren’t meant for leashes.
🐈⬛🐾🐾🇺🇸 bless your heart kitty cat ♥️ 🐈⬛ 🐾🐾
Cat is a friend of mine
The likeliest scenario is the cat ran off and hid somewhere under the the huge RV these people must drive around and since these people would drive immediately home after losing the cat (I hope. Although sounds like they left it too) it hitched a ride back.
Yeah, this whole story seems weird to me. That's not real cat behaviour! They are not as adventurous as most humans make them seem to be
They waited 5 days for him.
Or maybe...Just maybe
It walked back knowing where home was.
Maybe he have Cat-Nav ? 🐱
Cat knew how the map of America....and can read addresses.
... and he wisely avoided Springfield 🙀
It’s like Homeward Bound only irl
Cat carjacked several cars. (Joke) Dukes of Hazzard style🤣🤔
Why can’t they ask the cat ? Hey how did you travel so far , just ask it ! To receive an answer you have to ask !
Cats like to stay in their own home. They are not known for enjoying travel. Leave your cats at home and get a pet sitter. Much safer! Glad this sweet smart kitty made it home and there was a happy ending for all! 😻
They seem to travel in an RV... so to them it probably isn't any different than going to another familiar room. If they were traveling on planes and staying in hotel rooms, that would be quite different. Though there are cats like Nala (1bike1world) that have traveled their ENTIRE life and are quite content (because they know no different).
The obviously answer is somebody took him to California and then he escaped
.....down to 8 lives now
Think it's pretty clear what happened in this case it's the same as any case like this - the cat didn't want to identify that it was there and snuck into the vehicle without their notice and laid low, it got out of the vehicle on the way home, and later was picked up near where they got off. I just checked the map, and the town where they were found, Roseville CA, is on the interstate route from Yellowstone national park to their home in Salinas, CA. It's the first big town they would have hit when they got into CA, where the weather and general smells of the place would remind the cat somewhat of home/safety.
Very astute observation...!
Someone who is actually smart. Thanks! I'd believe the story if it was a dog, I doubt a cat would travel that far and be able to keep track, let alone pursue.
Yes. That's my theory too
@@johnlucas6683 Years ago I heard two stories like that. Cat went missing, owners had to move and in one story it was 3 months later, in second it was a few years, a hundreds miles away those cats found their owners. We don't know the abilities of animals and many more things about the world. Just because technology exist doesn't mean we know everything.
They left out the part about the woman who heard a cat yowling and rescued it from its hiding place in a drainpipe. Nursed it back to health then took it to the animal shelter because she knew it was someone's pet.
plot twist: that's not their cat
"A different cat in all the best ways". Agreed, not the same cat.
@@SRSR-pc8tinah they left out the part that mentioned the cat was identified through it's microchip
Maybe she should not have screamed when he got loose. That might have scared him even more.
Agree with others - keep them safe at home.
After what Trump said about cats and dogs being eaten in Ohio, I’m not surprised the cat ran west! 😂
The still pictures of the cat make me laugh though what a character
Lucky you, ALL!!! of you.
Keep kitty at home.
He did it the same way like in the movie "Cats Eye"
Maybe it had a mental and scent map where they were stopping if they made camping stops along the way. If I am in unfamiliar place, I would draw a mental map against some landmark: river. mountain or railway line. So when travel you follow along and after each turn remember on which side was that your reference point landmark, then it is really hard to get lost. I don't think I have been lost ever.
Welcome ❤home!!
Cats don’t like to travel, or moving to new places. It is very stressful to them. They are not dogs or humans, it is ridiculous and irresponsible that they ever brought their cats camping in the first place.
I found my cat by the side of the highway at a rest stop. He had obviously jumped out of a car, and was left, stranded between the highway and a river, and was starving. Finders-keepers! (He had collar, no chip)
…….
naughty kitty redeemed himself
Ironically they show a picture of two cats and the guy that was in the boat that they said some katniss left the shore and swam in the middle of the lake to him looks exactly like that other cat. And I remember back in the mid-80s there was you know real books and scientists and biologists and they know that cats have that sense that their owners can move over a thousand miles and still refined their owner. Kind of like homing pigeon has a sense same thing well a little different but yeah I remember hearing them stories all the time when I was little I've even seen it happen.
Cue the Homeward Bound music.
You left him. Left.
So you’d have just moved into Yellowstone permanently would you?
Are you a 12yo who doesn’t understand the complexity of adult responsibilities?
@@emmabrooker166 leaving him there without the effort of finding him is your concept of responsibility. 👏👏👏👏
Hope you don't have pets.

How did the cat know where to go? GPS?
Micro chip & harness from now on?
Yeah!!
Globe trotter cat
That's what happens when you travel with cats. That's irresponsible.
It is possible to travel safely with a cat (for instance, when moving). The most important rule is NEVER open a door or window to the outside unless the cat is secured in its carrier. My cat and I drove cross country more than once this way.
I'm thinking cats don't travel well... but OK.
Should have had a harness on him.😮
This story is bananas 🍌
Bigfoot helped the cat
Yep, Siamese cat

Thank goodness! At least he didn’t end up in Springfield!
The name spelling 😵
Cats and Dogs are more loved and smarter than humans and this proves it! How loyal pets as well!
I dunno, cats of the same breed can look very similar. Unless there was some unique distinguishing feature, how do they truly know it's the same cat? I mean it could be a miracle, but more likely they are adopting a different cat of the same breed and are just assuming it's really the same cat.
He was mikro chipped
Scientist say Cat can use earth electromagnetic field to find their way home...
Your editing is terrible. You make the story incomprehensible.
Poor cat. That said, they are invasive and do not belong in yellowstone
Actually people are invasive and ruin everything on the planet, but okay.

i dont know if it IS the same cat! looks different...
Lady, that’s not the same cat. It’s cool if you wanna believe that if it makes you feel better, but please you don’t gotta lie to the rest of us. That’s not the same cat.
It is the same cat. You obviously have never had a pet who cared about you or you cared about them. Pathetic life you must lead. I believe you are the one who liked your own comment.
Cats are very very skittish around strangers. It would not be as friendly as it is if it was not the same cat. Had a few cats, pretty well versed in cat.
it's probably microchiped that's how the shelter was able to contact the owners
Has a microchip
If your child was missing??????
Yep!
