In the 1750s and 70s, a lot of catholics kingdoms had "enlightened despots" like Friedrich the Great who conisdered that religion should be destructured, and that the Jesuits were a major pillar of the Papacy, so it was easy to attack the jesuites to diminish the influence of the Pope in their lands. And the Pope finally accepted the general pressure and banned the Jesuits in 1773. And twenty years later, the French revolted, with the ideas of the Enlightments as their main inspiration, and decapitated a king to proclaim a Republic... Let's just say, that it changed the opinion of a lot of monarchs about this whole Enlightment XD And so after the big mess that had been Napolon's wars, the Pope thought it could be a good time to reinstate the jesuits that he never really wanted to ban in the first place XD

They don't need to give you sources. Just trust them. They have no biases whatsoever. Don't look things up. Don't question things. Questioning things is bad. Believing in people with ties to major corporations is good.
